He is certainly a great player, but what I really like is the demeanor while playing. No ridiculous "chos", or screaming, or fist pumping. He is just cool and efficient and quiet. He is intimidating in this way.
it works... ocasionally. And it earn him... few points. Just because he's a good player and things he does work out, doesn't mean those things are the right thing to do.
TheVampB yea probably but he overdoes it because of his playful carefree personality so he can make some entertaining points but he won't be the best because he plays what he feels like playing, not what he should play to win.
This man has natural talent for TT and is actually switching hands during the points. Instantly fell in love with his unique style. I'm a fan...That's some crazy top-shit he pulled with Ovtcharov tho :))
@@MintOrange umm, not everybody who dedicate their life to the sport (read top 100 players) can play like this. It's his talent...such a ball feeling and touch cannot be developed with practice.
Niwa's prediction is incredible. He always stood in a good position beforehand and counterattacked with a relaxed posture. This kind of action confuses the opponent. He is a true TT master.
Yeah he evolved Waldner's style with 8 inches less reach and a non existent forehand. Go watch Yoo Nam- kyu.He was around the same size as Niwa and still blew him out of the water in terms of physicality.
This guy is a boss with his returns! I now get, it looks like he goes slow with his defense but as soon as you return he'll go ham on offense. Very nice technique!!
His movements are short and fast. The best way to beat the chinese. He also have more time for his footwork. It must be hard to hit the ball and one moment later the ball is back on your half of the table.
...incredible miraculous unorthodox skills by the great koki niwa ..to stagger the ball in power play and disorient u r adversaru ..at highest level of TT ..against the best formidable opponents.... good for the progress of TT ..
Just imagine you are running about doing excellent footwork and smashing every ball with so much power and that guy just stands there casually looking like he just woke up and blocking every shot. Menacing
Ya..looks like Koki Niwa just woke up from a nap, hair desheveled, clumsy/apathetic look walking style, no 'cho-ing' or fist pumping, adds up to a most interesting table tennis character, love it...

Pretty sure it goes against some of the things his coach tells him as well

@ Troll Man

This is why I like Niwa so much

Yes 😂
did he get one champion in the world?

Everytime I see Koki Niwa plays, it always reminds me of Waldner. I think Niwa just evolved Waldner's blocking style to fit with modern table tennis.
I couldn't say better ! I am a fan of waldner, and Niwa is his true heir now!
There's no evolution in blocking whatsoever and a little person like Niwa can't be an evolution to a fully grown adult like Waldner.
