Back in the day when I was interested in building my own amps, preamps and speakers I read an article concerning disortion and harmonic distortion. I believe it involved a Phase Linear Amplifier and some very good speakers and listener perception. What they found was thay with one fundemental input a trained ear might hear a difference in speaker "sound" when even low levels of distotion were electronicaly introduced but when 3 fundementals were mixed the listener could not tell the difference between no distortion and 3.5 to 5% 😂 that isn't to say there isn't a difference in quality between junk and good "technically", but that sound quality is SUBJECTIVE. If it sounds good thats all that matters, not the price.
Legacy, or you will be disappointed, great stuff, my WHISPERS are great, did they stop making Whisper? I run WHISPER from 4 mono amps around 1200-1400W RMS each sounds ALIVE using the older Xilica DSP set for Bi amping control. Need 3 15A ckts to run it all
Some of the best musicians I know insist on using inexpensive equipment because when it comes to tone and playability it’s not uncommon for a 1k guitar to sound better and outperform a 5k guitar. So go ahead and drop 100k on some speakers attempting to reproduce artists budget gear
Love your speakers but not for my pocket… Please make speakers that cost around 5k with crystal clear quality for high frequencies and midrange … low bass can be taken care by external subwoofers
Ninety two thousand dollars Hey I gotta set just like that sitting in my closet You do realize that you're flagship over. There is a little overpriced way to overprice I wouldn't give you two dollars for that hunk a crap And i've heard some speakers that you would not believe Nineteen eighty Poke s d a s d one You had to place them exactly right The left had to be on the left and the right one had to be on the right. It did not matter how far away that park they were Because you can only hear the left and you left ear and the right and you're right, here. You could play some right beside each other That was three thousand dollars And I promise you you speak a couldn't handle the comp tissue from a speaker from nineteen eighty.
My 1992 home stereo with a 100 watt Marantz receiver and Radio Shack Optimus Loudspeakers with massive 15 inch woofers would make any loudspeaker by Legacy sound like a worn out clock radio playing shitty elevator music.
Boom , that’s exactly what I’m saying. And again as a listener in the room there is little to no perceived difference in the tone of a $490 vs $5k guitar played by the same artist. This ultra high end audiophile thing is a mental illness.. Been there done that
are you that delusional? Wow, you need to get out more. I started out with the Legacy focus years ago, updated to Whisper when it was being made, and it was easily heard the drastic improvement in clarity and better sound. I am sticking to my Whispers. The Valors are a gigantic improvement over the ones that came before. Speaker driver materials improve over time, as do the DSP processors. If you can't understand that, stick with 1992 technology. Just like a modern 2024 Porsche is that much better than a 1992 Porsche or Audi
