- Best-of-3 series of high level StarCraft 2 between GuMiho (Terran) and soO (Zerg). This series was played as part of the GSL Code S season 3, 2023 just earlier this week. In this match GuMiho decides to bring out the Cyclone, a lot of Cyclones!

Ahhh SoO. I remember him! When he defeated Serral in IEM Katowice, we all joked that not even Serral can stop him from getting 2nd place. But somehow he managed to get 1st place. Dude was crying onstage and it was an emotional moment for a lot of us. Good memories.

I am glad Gumiho came back. Mech-Terran is so underrated. I think speed banshees are even more underrated and should see some more play.

Thor drops are a signature Gumiho move! So it's no surprise to see him bring Medivacs with Thors and Hellbats. Oh, and Hellbat drops too. The Cyclone is also a very Gumiho unit, so glad to see him use them!
34:52 watch the banes on upper portion of the screen. I don't think balance council wanted to nerf area damage, they just wanted to nerf zerg
Marines really are OP and banes can't even kill them efficiently now post-nerf. I think only infestors, lurkers, broodlords are the only remaining options that zerg has against mass marines. Tier 2-3 units against tier 1 50 mineral units what a joke. and Ghosts easily counters these 3 units making them practically useless.
SoO just came back from military, he was a bit rusty. Dark and DRG beat Byun, Scarlett and Solar beat Maru. Zerg is fine. Gumiho is just too awesome. I do think the Widow Mine buff was absurd, though. Not a fan of Widow Mines.
MMM is a stupid, boring unit composition because it takes the strategy out of RTS, it's now just a back and forth running around with cheap units, and it's way stronger than mech. Gumiho can't make mech viable at the very top level either.
That's why SC2 isn't ever going to gain any new players or viewers. Gameplay is just braindead clickfest.

@@Sir_Tomoyuki Just because SoO challenged himself of beating a mech player with only muta ling. If he had techswitched into mass Roach in the first game, he would have most likely ran over Gumiho like over a platin player. And the last game wasn't mech.
Gumiho can't make mech work against Dark, Serral or Raynor, probably not even in one game, and probably noone else can either.
Heck yes! Been waiting to see how GuMiho would shake things up :D

Gumiho stays as the most entertaining Terran for years. Never abuses the „bio drop I don’t care“ meta and always has fun with mech.
I would really like for a zerg structure with the ability to fling land units at the enemy, to be used with banes and ultras

Not prioritizing Carapace upgrades on the new patch is definitely an easy way to lose against mech because the Hellbats no longer 1-shot zerglings with max upgrades and blue flame. They only do 36 damage against light at +3. so you need 2 armor upgrades for your lings to force hellbats to 2-shot at +3 weapons.
In chess, there is an analysis computer which calculates the positioned then gives its evaluation on who's winning. I wonder if eventually AI will become so good that it can do this for SC2, factoring in micro and macro skills of the players.
probably can't factor in the micro and macro skills of the players, but if you strung enough cuda cores together and threw enough games at it, you could probably get a match evaluator.
Of course there's the minor issue of frequent balance patches and map pool switches which may skew the game significantly and make the computer not very accurate, and the fact that there are just so many game configurations (for one, having a single marine be 0.5 spaces further in a certain direction would be a new config in itself) can mean the evaluator just yoyos too much to be useful. Maybe one day.

Such a fun game by Gumiho! Lowko, I do feel compelled to point out that your request for "likes" is very similar in form to Winter. "If we get to 1,151 likes, I'll cast another series... and I'll probably do it anyway." Next you're going to start saying "welcome back to the most professional Starcraft 2!" Imitation is clearly the highest form of flattery ;)

I always wonder why Terran's don't pull 2-3 SCV's once they're saturated with their Mech armies set to auto repair. Mobile medic vacs for Mechs.

What do you guys think about these ideas
1. Banelings wil get a upgrade for extra hp. Need to have lair. It will be pretty interesting because the opponent doesn't know what you are upgrading. Or maybe at hive level because that was the whole purpose of the debuff of the banes so you cant rush baneling hp buff only in mid-late game
2. Ghost cant use emp against bulidings against protoss because thats really op against nexus and other buildings

Not sure on the first part. But would definitely like to see the second part in a future update.
But to give it more specifics, what if it could not only drain the Nexus' energy, but it temporarily prohibits production. In return the EMP would have limited shots like the Vulture's spider mines, and have a slow cool down (maybe the same as tactical jump?)
Agree with 1: Banes could have some more use in late.
Don't like 2: EMP on buildings is a rare but interesting interaction. Counterplay is nice.

the cyclone is weak. it's just a stop gap you can produce quicker than good units.

1) play perfectly
2) get lucky
Otherwise Terran wins.
