The legacy that he was talking about was YG being the home of the rappers (for SM as home of the vocals while JYP as home of dancers - the big 3 indeed), as seen with their “ancestors” (just a term for the early groups and artists of YG)

Very true actually when i think of these labels and i wonder now why other labels cant compete with the big 3?? But YG i feel like has changed right ? or still home of the rappers..

@@kjreacts7715 yg still indeed home of the rappers, hiphop, stage presence and swag... they are known for that since the early age of kpop, though their vocalists are VERY good too, SM is still more well-known as home of the vocalists. but YG is considered as home of all rounders and talented songwriters too 😁 their artists are truly very talented.

@@kjreacts7715 the term "Big Three" is often misunderstood by many fans today, especially with new companies excelling with their artists. The term "Big Three" actually refers to the pioneering companies that have shaped and led K-pop from the beginning - something most long-time K-pop fans would agree with. These companies remain irreplaceable in this moniker.
YG is still known as the home of rappers, but it is now also recognized as a place that nurtures all-rounders. While they may not produce as many boy groups and girl groups each year, the quality and uniqueness of the artists they do produce speak volumes.
YG Entertainment is like fine wine - it only gets better with time. Not only has it consistently produced some of the best rappers in K-pop, but it has also continuously broken barriers and evolved to introduce a diverse range of bold, genre-defying artists who push the boundaries of K-pop.

TREASURE has 5 (official producers) as of now: HYUNSUK, YOSHI, JUNKYU, ASAHI, and HARUTO they consistently do songs in their studios and send them in the company and if they make the cut for an album release it will be released. Hence, I really respect and proud of these 5 cause the quality they've been releasing never disappoints me, and they just deserve all of the credits and royalties for their hardworks.
afaik, jihoon and jaehyuk also is learning how to produce music so I'm also hoping to see some of their works soon.

09:30 Based on my observation for almost two decades following YG artists, they don’t use any kind of rotating or assignment system to decide which artist/producers' songs get released. Instead, it’s a pretty free system where producers and artists can create whatever music they want.
If you’re an artist and you’ve made a song, you can show your demo to one of the producers-whether it’s a senior producer or the one assigned to your group. They’ll give you feedback, and if they think the song is good, fits your group, or has potential, they’ll pass it on to Yang Hyun Suk (YHS) as the main producer. From there, YHS decides what happens next. The song might go on your album, get reworked or rearranged by another producer, or even be given to another artist or group if he feels it suits them better.
For example, Yedam once made a song with his solo work and his group in mind, but YHS decided it was perfect for Yoon (Winner) as a solo track, so Yoon ended up releasing it instead.
The same thing applies to producers, whether they’re in-house or from outside YG. YHS and the senior producers make the final call about which artist or group should perform the song.
The whole process takes a long time, which is why YG artists only have comebacks once a year or even every two years. It’s not just because of the approvals; YG’s artists and producers are also known to be perfectionists. They’ll do hundreds of retakes for one demo, from tweaking, tuning, adding extra vocals, extra instruments, rewriting lyrics, and so on. Everything has to be perfect by each and their own standards, and the collective standards of the artist, the producer, and YHS all together just for the go-no-go decision over a demo. 😂😂
Don't get me started on the process from demo to the actual release. Just because your song made it to the short list, it doesn't mean there will be no changes in arrangement or lyrics during the actual recording process, and it doesn't mean the song you've already recorded with your group will be out on your album. 🤣🤣
This is why I highly respect all the names written on music credits. They deserve all the money from royalties.

actually insane to hear about the process that goes into releasing a song. Yes they have the freedom to make what they want but doesnt mean the producers and label will like it. Also, i wonder how an artist feels to make a song and then be given to a different artist. Idk if i would be able to let go of a song unless i didnt like it

@@kjreacts7715 I think they feel happy and grateful, because at the end of the day the song they've created is out there for people to hear and enjoy. Even more so if the artist who received their song is someone dear to them or someone they adore and respect. They will still get the recognition as the creator of the song, they will get the appreciation from both their fans and the other artist's fans, and of course, there's the monetary gain. You know, you gotta make a living when you gotta make a living. 😆

YG LEGACY is being the company that produces real talented and skilled artists.Quality over quantity. They started as a hiphop company that's why they are known to have the best rappers but they also have great vocal singers like BIG MAMA ,GUMMY etc..Came bigbang where they incorporate hiphop into kpop.BIGBANG is the first group to have rappers. Yg artists are known to have that "YG SWAG" that is hard to replicate. You can check out some covers of yg song from other artists outside yg and you'll see how lacking they look like compared to yg covering yg...Also YG is known as the house of live performers that why the phrase "AS EXPECTED FROM YG" and "NO YG NO PARTY" became famous.Cause they are the only company that focus on training their artist as LIVE PERFORMER..thats why they always use choreography that will allow their artists to sing LIVE. They have their own gym and trainors that help builds their stamina.

9:28 It depends. I believe they already have produced songs (thus their hard drives being their most prized possessions, lol) and that they submit songs to be included in the album. YG approves it and later develop it with the member-producer and other in-house producers. Hold It In was a solo song Hyunsuk produced for himself but it was only released two years after he submitted it. Sometimes though, they are tapped to create songs specific to the album only during the planning stage.

true true true i think many artist actually is constantly making music and have it stored so depending on the time the probably go to the label and say i want to release this and then it goes through the long process. A song they may have made a long time ago too might not be ready to release it but fit a better time later

Legacy that Hyunsuk was talking about is YG known to be HOME OF BEST RAPPERS. It's both a pressure and honor for them to be part and continue that Legacy.
The songs released depends on what concept they have for a certain comeback but With regards to writing songs, They constantly make and produce songs to be pass to in house producers for approval. This songs once approved might not be release immediately bcoz it will depend on what concept they have for certain comeback. Some songs might be done years ago but will be releae years after bcoz it might not fit the concept yet. Also all members can actually produced not only certain mem. But their songs also needs to be approved. Like Yoshi and Kyu, they've been making beats and music long time ago but their songs were only realeased recently.
With tbe rappers they are always the one who write tbeir verse. Whoever produces the song will inform them about the concept or theme of the song then they make their rap accordingly. This is also a part of the Legacy that Hyunsuk is talking about. In some company whoever produces the songs writes the rap verse, in YG it is a must they make their own verse.
KJ there's another Documentary of the REBOOT Concert and KING KONG. You can see that in YG ENTERTAINMENT channel. Thats ep 2 & 3.

thank you Sophie! i will definitely check that out i was sad the step two chapter two was only two episodes... but agan 222 maybe? Are they really home of the best rappers? I feel like they are changing to the best singers too. Nah that process to release a song is alot. I can understand why some artist may stay independent

@kjreacts7715 they are known as Home of Best Rappers. Though with Vocals YG has some of the best vocals too. YG is really keen to this since all their artists sings live during performance so they need to have good vocals too. And YG artists mostly are all rounders. They are trained in all aspect thus they can do lots. I agree also 2 eps is not enough was hoping for more.
Thanks so much will look forward to more documentary reactions.

They may not look stressed in this documentary but they are hella pressured because of their iconic sunbaes - BIGBANG, 2NE1, WINNER, iKON, BLACKPINK, AKMU. They are always thankful and appreciative of the sunbaes that came before them and have built YG to the company that it is now.
They just don’t show it in this documentary because there is a camera. But it doesn’t mean they are not struggling/they have not struggled. They all went through a brutal YG survival show and training.
They constantly make music, the producers/composers (HYUNSUK, YOSHI, JUNKYU, ASAHI) have so many unreleased music in their hard drives. If you noticed, HYUNSUK said he composed HOLD IT IN when they were still in YG TREASURE BOX. That was (I think) 3-4 years ago from the time this documentary was created. Also, if you have seen WIN TV, YG Artists submit their songs to the main producers and see if it gets approved. So all of the songs in this album were approved by the main producers for release.

I undersand that they stress but I feel like groups in the past stressed alot more due to paving the way for these younger artists. So now we get to see this newer generation experiencing more joy and having more time to enjoy life

    • @teumevip_bunny
      @teumevip_bunny 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

@ having seen the documentaries of a lot of YG ARTISTS, based on my observation, all of them struggled pre-debut and then showed joy and having fun after they debut. Even BIGBANG and 2NE1 showed they were already having fun in BIGBANG and 2NE1 tv. Then the same thing happened to WINNER and iKON on WINNER and iKON TV after they survived their own survival shows. They were roaming around Japan and performing for BIGBANG as a front act. Those were the actual glory days for YG because they were all loved by the media and the general public. TREASURE suffered in other ways after YGTB. Their debut was delayed because of company scandals so the media, variety shows and the general public ignored them. That is one of the reasons they didn’t get invited in so many variety shows. After that, a lot of their sunbaes left YG, BLACKPINK went on hiatus for their solo careers and WINNER also went on hiatus because 2 of their members went to the military. All the pressure went to TREASURE to do well financially because BABY MONSTER still haven’t debuted.
They may not show it in their contents but TREASURE has suffered immensely. If they showed it on their contents people immediately jump and tell them to stop complaining. That they can’t even say they are getting sick with the constant traveling for their shows without people saying they are complaining.

T.M.I ep 39&40 are basically the behind the scenes of junkyu and yoshi directing the recording process of their songs for the REBOOT album. you really should watch it if you like this kind of behind the scenes 😄 then you can decide whether you want to react to all of the episodes or not. so basically, before we have this documentary, we had t.m.i.
