Great pass at the end. There are different lines into a corner, JL took the outside line leaving the inside open. MM went for the inside and past him. Clearly JL didn't anticipate the move and ran into MM. It was an aggressive move, but fair. JL was pissed because he was beaten by a rookie.
Anybody watching the race should have seen Marquez's move coming. He drove into at least 5 corners with a bit to much pace and came within inches of Jorge several times. The fact that Lorenzo didn't see this coming and block him is shocking. Championship points are on the line...I'm happy for Marc, MotoGP is benefitting from his assertiveness.
Ahhhh, get over it MMs last corner move is standard procedure in all classes of motogp. Lets not get all health and safety about it! This is what makes the races exciting - rivalry and close racing. Sic was exciting to watch and spiced up the races, sadly and through no fault of "aggressiveness" he will be missed. Lorenzo should know better that to leave a barn door open - did he learn nothing from RossiVs Giberbau in '05 cos MM certainly did!
Its racing not a F*%&ing ballet. Go read any of the motoGP riders comments about this final turn, they all understand that this happens. Marc deserved these points as much as anyone. It's just going to get better in La Mans, maybe the weather will throw a curve ball too.
I Heard that Lorenzo himself, thought that he should have handled the last 50% of that overtake better. He should have let Mark overrun the corner then undercut him instead of not giving ground to him and getting run off himself. I'm not sure if this is true but its the rumor I have heard.
Yeah but Marcos death didn't actually have anything to do with his aggressive riding style so there was no point even saying that. Marquez is young and hungry, Lorenzo knew he was close and probably going to make a move yet he left the door open so Marc tried, who can blame him? if it was your first year in GP and you had a chance to overtake the reigning world champion on the last corner in front of your home crowd, I think you'd give it a damn good go
You're right, but I still think Marquez is close to being dangerous at the moment. Its only a matter of time before he wipes someone out. But I do think that he will quickly calm down a bit.
but my understanding was that racing lines are ideally the most balanced route between speed and minimal risk, but if you're passing someone or taking risks (even quicker than racing lines but the risk with the rubbers not holding up), then it's out the window. and this is where good riders and great riders are separated. i dunno anyway if you follow motorcycle racing more you'll see this kind of stuff often. in fact this one here is nothing.
Yes, Marq is a bit green and undisciplined. But we are looking at a new era. MotoGP has not seen a talent like Marquez, and that is some pretty gifted company. He is the potential GOAT! But it will take time. Time and a lot of great races.
no the that is exactly what happens when you get to aggressive riders racing together . also Lorenzo could not have cut under him . Marquez blocked him out leaving him nowhere to go. the only option he would have had would have been to go off the track and then cut back in. he was already leaning into the corner and slowing down mid-corner is extremely difficult . if Marquez wouldn't have have gone wide like he did lorenzo indeed could have cut back in but marquee did just that..went wide.
I agree with you MM went in hot and probably couldn't stop to take his ideal line ... but .. Lorenzo should have spotted that and not turned in as he did given the circumstances ...he could have held off a little bit given his experience and 2 world championships and let MM go through then cut under him but he didn't!!! A wiser rider would have done this but Lorenzo is too arrogant and comfy in his status - he thinks he is the best. NO SUCH thing. I still think MM F***ed him up good and proper!!
no the racing line that margqueze took is not even salvageable one..Marquez started to go wide in the because he had to much speed built up for that corner. he left lorenzo nowhere to go. that corner is not a double apex corner where you have to turn in again . it was a stupid and aggressive move which would have normally caused both of them to crash out. Marquez got lucky this time.thats it luck.
It was a dirty pass. He put himself in a situation that would cause him to run wide and hit someone else. This is a sport where missing your apex by a few millimeters is a huge mistake.
I dont know what your seeing but Marquez came in to hot for the corner..he had to much speed built up and you see him start to go wide in the corner because of it.He couldnt even keep his own racing line because of the speed he was going at. since he went wide he left nowhere for lorenzo to go so that's why he ran into him. it was a stupid and aggressive move that normally would have caused both of the to crash but he got lucky. thats it luck.
Rossi pulled the same bullshit stunt against Gibernau in the same corner. Of course he is going to say that. Pedrosa is a teammate, Edwards is riding a bad crt. Come at me
MOTOGP will follow other classes and force these midgets to add weight so that everyone is carrying same amount of weight. With all the automation, these light weights have too much advantage. Before he died Simoncelli and Rossi tried to make this happen and now all have followed except for MOTOGP. Repsol Honda has too much power and they are the one who is holding this up because of their midget riders.
Great pass at the end.

Was like Rossi and Gibernau at 2005.
Marquez será o sucessor de Valentino, daqui a algum tempo, é o que parece.

Rear wheel lift at 0:21

@@zayntiara430 mad?
If Rossi, Edwards and Pedrosa said it was hard but fair, I'll take their word for it, not yours.

The dirty 93.
At 2:55 its very similar moment with rossi and gibernau 2005
The much fabled Lorenzo berm, great for squaring off corners.
Good thing with Marquez is that he racing aggressive and always have to try.
Dirty ass move. Surprised Lorenzo didnt take a swing at him when he tried to shake his hand.

Pass didn't seem dirty but it did when Marquez stayed wide on the turn when obviously Lorenzo was going to be on his outside
this is MotoGP, not undergroud racing

It's quite possible that he meant it as a positive thing.
Papa cal still so young...

HE STUFFED HIM ala Rossi on Gibernau

It didn't seem like he left space. More like he was following the racing line.
Marquez won a good battle against Lorenzo . But if I were Lorenzo, I'd be fucking furious.
