Love those improvised stops when I travel. The scooter definitely gives you a chance to do that since you don't have to worry as much about where to park... Definitely want to see more.

I drive a scooter and I love it especially in the summer, you can feel the smell of the ocean of forests of restaurants cooking you really do feel so much more in a scooter and in the summer the fresh air is pleasant. The winter is not so pleasant but you can get winter equipment and a winter helmet (fully closeD)
@@luisvasconcelos1053 I understand why you’re saying that. I do leave my city a lot but I travel a lot and live near the Rocky Mountains I like that Funchal is a decent sized city so there’s still stuff to do. I’ve thought about moving to Portugal and was curious about Madeira

One day a couple (old folks) was waiting on the bus stop to get to the Botanical Garden, and I was passing by and the guy approach me for help, he explains me that he was waiting for the bus for a long time, I tried to figured what was wrong and apparently they were waiting on the wrong bus stop and I offer to drive them there since I was going to pass there. This is just one case I could mention many other cases happen. The natives are super helpful beyond what you would expect. The local economy depends on tourism, so we need the tourists return frequently

Thoroughly loved watching this. Those old windy roads always remind me of Madeira pre-motorway, and how long it used to take to get anywhere, maybe they're not all that bad after all! Glad you gave Campanario a mention as that's where I'm originally from; if you haven't been to Calhau da Lapa yet, please do, as it's pretty amazing, with it's caves and excellent snorkelling. You guys are a real credit to the island, thank you!

I never thought I would see you guys eating tequeños, I'm from Portugal and Venezuela myself, my family is from Madeira and they emigrated to Venezuela after WWII, it's very normal seeing Venezuelans in Madeira or in Portugal in general, because Venezuela has one of the biggest Portuguese communities in the world. I can just say thank you guys, i really enjoy your content!
Reminds me of our experience on Madeira in May 2017. Scooter from Funchal across the south and about half the west side. It was a glorious day!! - though we did take the highway shortcut back😁😎. You are so lucky to live there.

We had planned a honeymoon to Spain and Portugal May 2020 - including a whole excursion to Madeira which is a lifelong dream for me. I never been to Madeira, but seeing it with your eyes it's fun. Makes think about the coast line around Cascais.
But far dramatic because Madeira is, literally, a mountain in the middle of the ocean, and you are walking and driving on the walls and scarps.
