This video tries to compile the most important information we got from the RGG Summit of September 2024! The big one is the upcoming pirate game; Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate In Hawaii! Then we got a brief look at Yakuza Kiwami on the switch and a new trailer for the TV show (which I didn't show here because it's copyright material).

I like how they're framing this as a story Majima is telling someone or even the player. Kinda allows the story to maybe do some ludicrious things and make you wonder "Is Majima bullshitting or is he telling the truth?"
That kinda thing could lend itself nicely to further outlandish spinoffs too. Give me my space Saejima game, RGG!
it sounds fun, but i hope that we don’t end the game with a “it didn’t really happen lol” and have all those hours not really count for much

Imagine he sees Makoto here, Which is plausible considering she moved overseas in Kiwami 2 and could be here on vacation.
What I predict is that the substory will start with Makoto's son all grown up, you help him with whatever substory shenanigans he's in and then he says, "oh hey here's my mom and dad", and boom they're both there and possibly meet Majima
This was my first thought. There's even 24-hour Cinderella, so it seems likely.

At 7:40 majima does the breaker counter uppercut. It seems mad dog is merging all of Majima's unarmed styles into one moveset which is genius on top of madog having reworked animations. It makes the style feel complete
Majima: "You know, I've been in the Yakuza business for over 40 years. Now that it's over, I don't know what to do with the rest of my life."
Kiryu: "Have you ever considered piracy? You'd make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts."

this is actually all just a publicity stunt to generate hype for pirate majima in the upcoming peak souls remake.
If that does happen then that will probably one of the biggest publicity stunts of all time
Last custcene before cut to black is Majima seeing Kamurocho burning as his ship approaches and a crew member hands him a shotgun.

That is going to be awesome , a Majima solo game as long as Ugaki-san is playing him, i'm happy, the only thing i will say here is that i wish RGG Summit focused more on Game Trailers rather than drawn out interviews, that's honestly what i like to see at presentations like that
Yeah. I was really disappointed that there was only one game announcement. We already knew about Kiwami on Switch and the TV show. The only other announcement was the clothing line, which I can't imagine many of us actually giving a shit about. I wish they'd at least had some kind of teaser for an upcoming project to keep us wondering, because they directly said that they have more to announce. The past summits have set a bad precedent that makes us expect massive reveal dumps and hype, I guess.
I think Majima Gaiden's combat looks so cool and I'm dying to play with it. I'll be eagerly awaiting more gameplay trailers. I think the shark has been jumped with the story, but I'm still willing to play along. Maybe it's a weird retelling of events from Majima's imagination? That would explain the scenes where he's telling the story on his throne.

I always play in Japanese, and then NG+ in English, I’m curious if Mercer is getting to do a whole game too. I liked him before.

the fact that you can jump in battle now opens up a ton of combos, and I can already see potential swag via launching enemies and style shifting between Mad Dog and Sea Dog
Can't wait for the pirate rendition of his theme, might be called Receive and board you (in reference to pirarates boarding ships), do you think we might get some other remixes of his songs like reign. And on a another point, the trailer has a a lot of tiger references and images, I'm guessing that's going to be the trigger for him to get his memory about Saejima back

While i do appreciate a Like a Dragon game, formerly known as Yakuza, with Majima as protagonist, I'm a little worried that Sega and RGG Studios are overexploiting the franchise like Assassin's Creed.
4 games in a span of three years:
LaD Gaiden (2023)
LaD Infinite Wealth and Kiwami on Switch (2024)
LaD Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (2025)
Will I play Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii? Without a doubt, but I'd rather they take a break from that IP and create something original, like they did with Binary Domain back in the day. It's just my opinion, tho.
Yakuza was always a yearly franchise though, so nothing new.

Okay I thought that Kiryu's agent style was one of the more overpowered styles in the series with all of the gadgets, but Majima may give Kiryu a run for his money

I love this idea for Majima! Its so gorgeous! on top of that. Strangely enough, I'm hoping Daigo gets more development. Like, I would LOVE for Daigo to have a chance to get get more development and all. I just feel like other characters are getting the development they need, but not Daigo Dojima himself.

Finding out this game is being made is like hearing that the One Piece is real. Looking forward to seeing more in the future!
As much as I'm hyped for this game, the pirate setting fits more in Ishin era with Okita Soji instead of Majima but keep the same engine and combat mechanics shown in the trailer, but I figured its too much work and pirate is just more famous than Japanese Wokou.
But this is way more creative though. How many games about modern pirates exist out there? Only one i can think of is Far Cry 3.
Extra Karaoke song paywalled is... odd. Still better than difficulty options and an entire dungeon being locked.
