My husband is from Moose Jaw! We went on a road trip across Canada last summer and he was so excited to show me his home town and Mac. And then another time we were driving into the US and the border officer looked at his passport and didn’t believe it was a real place. 😂 I wish you luck with the new Jeep. Really enjoyed this video.

Slim, you’re always so upbeat. Even with a vehicle problem on your first day. Jeeps will almost always get you where you want to go. You made a good choice. Happy travels. Alan
Glad to see you back on the road. Was beginning to think you had a serious and costly breakdown. I checked daily to see the part 2 of your last video. You handled everything very well without getting angry or stressed out. I appreciate your attitude. Safe travels Slim.
Thanks for the tour of Moosejaw, Slim; I had no idea it was so notorious (read: "Fun!"). So now Moosejaw has been added to my bucket list. Thanks for your fun & funny road trip!!
Hey Slim, glad to see you back👋 Your new ride looks amazing! Kudos to how cool & calm you dealt with your breakdown. Wishing you smooth sailing on your next big adventure!
I was glad to see you alive and well, Slim. Missing Monday was not unusual but Tuesday as well? I was afraid that you were not well or worse still, injured in an accident. Gladly, both fear were unfounded. I hope that you continue to enjoy your road trip. I look forward to your first Aliner destination. All the best, mate.
Awwww, I was so sorry you had trouble with your new car right off the bat. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for you from now on. It is a nice looking car, clean, shiny and seems to be in good condition. Two things that get me freaked out more than anything is a car that breaks down and a computer that goes whacko, very frustrating for this old gal. I really enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.
Slim, I am SO happy that you are pleased with the vehicle you chose! And my impatient self was tutored by the even-tempered, good-humored attitude you exhibited in the face of the Jeep breaking down. I wish you many, many, many satisfying, beautiful & safe adventures with your new-to-you road buddy! Thanks for sharing with us- and, again, the Moose Jaw chamber of commerce ought to give you an honorarium AND a stipend because, as always, you did a stellar job of highlighting the virtues of your location!! Happy travels!! 💐💐💐
As a couch potato who enjoys Slim Potatohead as a 'common tater' and an excellent video/audio artist, i rate your efforts as more than one thumbs up! thanks!
You are a great narrator. If you love it that's all that matters. Congratulations on the new ride. Hope she serves you well. Can't wait to see more adventures. Thanks for sharing and taking us along. God Bless.
To Slim : Congratulations on your "new to you" jeep..... May it always be dependable, safe, and bring you joy and trouble free miles.... I was nearly breathless waiting for your "part II" of the jeep saga.... Thanks again.... Doc....
Congrats on your new Jeep, hope it brings you years of joy, lots of road miles, and ever ending fun, looking forward to your next and all future videos
That is a very nice looking Jeep Slim. Nice to see you got a better car that you like. Good to see the break down was nothing serious. Thanks for taking us along.
Slim buddy...you are so dang funny! I'm sorta snowed in, in California...not the sierras... but the lower high desert. the weather has gone crazy! I 've fallen in love with this channel for so many reasons...but the humor, ha hahahaha is cool! Anyways...I'm catching up on the videos from the past that I've never seen. Can't wait to see what the future holds on your new trailer that you're searchiby for. New subscriber as of a few months ago. Be safe...☺
Love Moose Jaw was there in the 80’s on my first trip up to Alaska. Nice rain visors on the windows of the Jeep , safe travels. Paddles are the more common name for moose antlers
I have a 2010 Jeep Liberty. It looks like your newer one. I love it! 200,000 miles on it, and it is finally broken in! Yours looks like someone has taken very good care of it!
Really like your new vehicle. I like the car that gets me from point A to point B. Don't worry about what people comment. It's your money so get what you want.
I liked your road trip video! I like all of your videos. I'm glad you were able to get your new Jeep fixed so you can keep on the road. I even learned about that part that broke on your car because you showed what it was that broke. I think most vehicles have issues but if you love that car then that's all that matters. Now I'm looking forward to your next filming because you are awesome and your stories are fantastic!
I Liked it! So nice to see your videos. You always leave enough time when you photograph nature for the viewer to enjoy what you saw - most people go too fast. I loved the ducklings and the lake shore. How do you keep the camera so still!! Nothing wrong with the Liberty. I had 4 Grand Cherokees, loved driving them, but $$$$$$$$$$ when they get hi mileage!
Hahaha..ALL vehicles are money when they hit high mileage..I too love jeeps..have had 5..all but two were buy here pay here bought at higher mileage, 3 over 150,000..had zero issues with any of them..maybe I was blessed? Have a Ford van with over 230,000..engine n tranny replaced at about 150,000..at 225,000 she began heading for another needed engine, in shop currently to assess..time to trade I think..maybe another jeep?
It must be something in the air around Moose Jaw. The only time I have been there, the exhaust system on the car I was riding in decided to drop off. That was 1974. The more things change the more they stay the same.
Hi Slim, a person doesn't have to be from Canada to know of Dog River if, like me, they are a fan of the TV sitcom, Corner Gas. Corner Gas was filmed in Dog River and it was pretty funny. Anyone interested can watch old episodes of Corner Gas on TH-cam.
you picked a very nice spot to take the pics of the jeep ,the colourful of the jeep safe trips like the vids you put out they have been good keep it up
Great video, Slim. Good luck with your new vehicle, I think you have made the right choice. I used to own 2008 Jeep Liberty and loved it very much. Bought it from Toronto, after few years shipped it to Georgia (country) and then to Jordan as my company kept sending me to different countries. Kept the vehicle for 5 years, had no major issues. Sold it because needed a bigger SUV. Poor gas mileage is normal. I think its because the engine is way too underpowered for the weight of that vehicle. Also, another thing...at night I almost always had to turn on fog lights as the main lights were not illuminating the road properly. Be safe on the road. Love your videos.
I agree100% with you !! When u get older u become wiser ...patience is the key ..waiting for the right deal is the most rewarding part ...if not your stuck paying bills and no fun too enjoy life and your toys ...congratulations on your new jeep looks great love the color !!...
Nice that you were able to handle the Jeep problem and get going again and it was a good test run for the Jeep. Nice video and I enjoyed the ending with the waves on the lake. Bob
Very nice Jeep. I really like it!! Hope this is the only repair you have to make. I bought a 2017 Forerunner to pull my 1999 Casita travel trailer. It pulls like it’s not even pulling anything! I love the Forerunner, as it’s comfortable, great leather seats, and is a very powerful V6! Safe travels, my friend, and best of luck with your nice new Jeep!! Beautiful ending!! ❤️🐾❤️
that is a really nice Jeep,,i love it...Bet you really enjoy it....well now i can't believe you broke down on first day on your trip..but so glad you could find someone to fix it for you..and you got to check out the sites in moose jaw...thank you once again for sharing.
Congratulations on your new car. And thank you for this journey with you on your way through Canada. With your camera angles and great sense of editing, your videos are something I enjoy. And learn from. Good luck.
Oh yes, Dog River! Loved Corner Gas. I'm living in Minnesota but orginally from Calgary also. Like your new vehicle. Looks like it's going to work great. Thanks for all your info in all your videos about photography. I new at photography and have learned a lot from you. Also, thanks for sharing your adventures.
I love the new Jeep. It suites you well. And I'm not a "Jeep person" per say. I'm glad you stick to your guns and find your own way!!! You have strength of character! Drive On!
Congrats on the new Jeep - she looks like she’s in beautiful condition. Ignore the naysayers; few subjects bring out strong opinions like the choice of a vehicle, especially trucks and SUVs, and most of those options are based on.... nothing. You did your research and made an informed choice. With good maintenance, it should serve you well for many miles and many years. I look forward to following all the coming adventures with the new ride!

October 8, 2024 Maryland, USA: Genius, as always with the set up for pulling over to rest from a long drive ahead with no permanent set up and not in use roll it up and out of the way. I maybe doing a 6-7 hour drive and this would be so perfect and unexpected at the rest areas. Of course safety is first and see others using black out easy put in panels. I do imagine if in the middle of the Summer a challenge but there are fans that would assist. An idea is to make a bag for the ‘bedding” that is also functional. As always Slim you encourage us all to enjoy life. Whether cross country traveling or just hiking in your own state enjoy those moments.
Five months later you probably know the reason your car alarm goes off - the key/s that came with the vehicle don't have the chips in them so when you go to unlock the doors, the alarm is triggered. Older Subarus do the same thing. You'll have to disable the alarm system according to that year's user manual. I had a devil of a time with a 2006 Subaru and the dealer in Oregon was clueless. Love your videos, BTW!
Always look forward to you videos Slim, so very interesting and amazing views to enjoy...thankyou for sharing and love the new Jeep. It's in beautiful condition 😁👍.stay safe on your wonderful travels....xxx
Your videos have helped me this past year to get outside my comfort level and get back to doing the things I enjoy in life. Slim I did some tent/car camping at the Moccasin Creek Festival in Effingham, Illinois in June. I went solo. My wife stayed home for this one. I had not slept in a tent in decades. I had to deal with some rain; but, even with some challenges it brought I still had a blast. I am going back next year. I am still undecided if an Aliner is the path we will take. I am looking at dusting off my camping skills (which I use to do a lot when I was a kid). I have 2000 4-Runner which I am going to have set up better should I need to sleep in it. I did get pushed out of my tent with one of the heavy rains, I did not seal the seams which would have probably prevented a few persistent drips that developed after hours of heavy rain in the wee hours and retreated to my car. Had I planned better I could have been more comfortable in the car. I had to opt for a seat because the rain was too heavy for me to re-arrange things in the back. I will plan better next time. I could have opted to move to a motel in the area; but, I was determined to stay at the campground, I figured all the hard parts were a learning opportunity that I did not have to repeat in the future with better planning. You video where you locked you keys in you car at the laundromat was actually an inspiration for the standards I set for my trip. One, I was going to be totally self reliant. For instance I did not test my rechargeable air pump for my air mattress before I left the house, it failed to work, I declined to use anyone else's and opted for a pad that I used in lieu of it. Anything I did wrong I will not repeat if I paid the consequence for my own bad planning failures. Second, No motel, period, no matter what happened I was committed to the campground stay. With the challenges that it brought, it made the total experience better. Just like the festival itself, the rain brought out magical moments; because, every act played as scheduled. People pulled out ponchos and braved the elements, which the artist that were playing gave a 100% to their show, they had the attitude that by golly if you are going to stand in the rain to hear me I am going to make it well worth your while. Returning a U-haul trailer was a great idea, it gave me food for thought of how I can subsidize my trip possibly in the future, I am going to look into that with U-haul and Ryder. If I can pull a trailer both ways that could be big plus. For covering some cost on a long car/camping trip. I think I have watched everyone of your videos, some multiple times. Your videos are entertaining and informative. Keep up the good work.
I know the feeling about vehicles breaking down along side, the highway on the shoulder. Even though the breakdowns were never MY vehicle. They were a company vehicle. A big pain in the BUTT never the less I’m glad you included Al Capone’s hideaway so the story goes. I stayed in that motel in July 2018 while heading to the Calgary stampede. I wish I knew how to post a photograph on your channel if that’s even allowed of the corner, gas gas station stopped there again. Still on my way to Calgary and took a picture of the gas station with the company sign truck I was driving.
Nice replacement Jeep (and appears comfy). I’m sorry about your breakdown but enjoyed the Moose Jaw update. That Al Capone sure got around! Lovely ending.
Slim Potat0 ~ love you to pieces. If you are gonna spend more than 2K on a used Jeep please get a “pre-purchase Inspection” by a Jeep specialist before you buy. They know all the stuff that’s gonna cost you down the road ❤️ Sweet video!
Well, Slim, I have good news and bad news. The good news is I have watched all of your videos in mostly chronological order. It only took me a week. The bad news is, I missed you coming through Missouri. I would have loved to say hello. Congrat's on following Bill & Merri's wild adventure. You sure picked a heck of a year to do it, with the constant flooding... I have been to every river town you mentioned. From the confluence to the Yankton SD, I have cleaned up trash with a group called Missouri River Relief. The Big Muddy is in my blood.
Great shakedown trip video. Really enjoyed beautiful Moose Jaw. Too many folks choose the wrong tow vehicle and are sorry later. Figure out your needs, set your budget and find what works best for you. Jeeps are pretty easy to work on with lots of parts available so you can keep it going for a long time. I tow my Chalet a-frame with an '06 Toyota Sequoia 4WD. Its a beast especially in the mountains. I have a lot of stuff so it works for me plus its super capable and reliable but it has yet to meet a gas station it doesn't like! It all depends on the compromises you're willing to make. Power and space were my criteria, gas mileage was the compromise.
You’ve got to buy based on your needs, wants, abilities and experience. It was good to have the road trip on highways where you could get towed. You didn’t say how expensive that pit stop and tow was, but at least we didn’t see you passed out, lol 😂. Update coming soon on wind power hopefully...
I really just started watching you and now am binge-watching. I enjoy you so much. Your stories are entertaining and most informative. Thank you for your time and effort. Be safe and Havagudun!
Slim, Canada isn't the only place with only two seasons, Michigan also clams that as well, at least those of us who live here. We say the state flower, is the orange colored road cone.
Nice Jeep. Hope you have good luck with it. Had a 1997 and 1998 Jeep Cherokee and ran them both for over 250,000 miles each. My windows had bad regulators also, some things never change. Happy travels.

Damn plastic parts. I miss the old days when metal was used in high stress areas of an engine,
The American made stuff has plastic on the inside of the engine, not made to last.
Plastic parts=reduced weight. Plastic parts=higher retail prices.
@@gsp49
Not just American, BMW amongst many others has made extensive use of plastic parts since the 90's.
@@andrewcheatle4691 yep BMW is known for motorcycles that have the highest breakdown rate after Harley's.

That’s a great looking Jeep! I always liked the look of your Liberty, I like the squared off look of it.
As long as you are pleased, that's all that matters. Good luck with your new Jeep. Thanks for sharing.
A big pain in the BUTT never the less
I’m glad you included Al Capone’s hideaway so the story goes.
Hey from Moose Jaw! never seen this before, cool episode!
Cool town! SP
They know all the stuff that’s gonna cost you down the road ❤️
Sweet video!
SP, wonderful vid my friend. Thanks for sharing!
That layout for sleeping is just like my 2015 Prius. I look forward to ideas you come up with. I use mosquito netting on open windows when camping.
I think it was a good decision!! Can't wait for all the new content!! Be safe!!
Too funny. I took a break from watching "Corner Gas, The Movie" to watch your new episode. I just finished watching the series.
Mack had a rack, but no junk in his trunk 😹😹😹. ☮️💜😺
You’ve got to buy based on your needs, wants, abilities and experience. It was good to have the road trip on highways where you could get towed. You didn’t say how expensive that pit stop and tow was, but at least we didn’t see you passed out, lol 😂. Update coming soon on wind power hopefully...
Yes, that fatcat cat was cute!
Enjoyed your shakedown cruise. Hope all works out with your new-to-you TV even with issue. Looking forward to your next travels.
Your new Jeep looks in perfect condition. Congratulations
Yep. New York is the same.
Good deal Slim. Since I'm a mechanic I can say this. Every vehicle I see is broke. Looks like you found something that fits your needs.
Congrats on your new vehicle. It looks sturdy & nice. Happy travels.
Love your jeep. What a cool town. Thanks for the awesome video
Nice Jeep. Hope you have good luck with it. Had a 1997 and 1998 Jeep Cherokee and ran them both for over 250,000 miles each. My windows had bad regulators also, some things never change. Happy travels.
