Chovy is quite reliable and consistent. Strong in lane and strong during teamfights. He does split push a lot, as long as his top/jg does not troll like worlds vs drx, chovy does well.
I think every rational aware League player watching pro play knew that this series will look like this, there was no doubt that GenG will smash G2 and thats what they did. Simply superior region.

This is really all the LEC casters' fault. For 2 years they've been calling Humanoid the best mid in Europe. So Caps concluded "Hmm...seems I need to die in the sidelane more often to get back on top" So he did.

Let's look at the bright side: Yikes looked pretty good the whole serie and Broken Blade had some good moments aswell. Caps and the duo lane have a high ceiling, so maybe G2 can make some noise if everything clics together at some point.
In first two games he did nothing but take kills. Especially second game as viego was disaster, GenG pushing Nexus towers and Yike was running for Tristana on top xD
league already have pretty small international matches per year compare to other esports and when u put gigantic regional gap on top of that league has one of the least competitive and exciting series per year. casters have been carrying league for a while but the fact that players doesnt put much effort into making the game actually exciting is quite underwhelming.

You know what. I always supported and will support Caps, but it's time to be honest. I think G2 might've pulled an upset today if you equalized Caps and Chovy. Other than Caps, no one seemed to be out of the league of their opposing laner and seemed competitive. It usually came down to split second horrible decisions and Chovy. Chovy single-handedly won game 4. Yes, some years ago Caps could compete with eastern mid laners, but lately he has been having trouble even against Loud and has been terrible in LEC. Maybe if he picked something with more utility mid instead of Aurelion Sol the team might've made it 2-2. Maybe it's time for G2 to find or at least scout for someone new for mid. I think the rest of the team did good considering GenG is the most hardcore counter team they could have faced. G2's whole gig is about pressuring jungle and finding advantages through that (either top or bot). GenG has been dealing with that all the time in the LCK and they don't really get bothered by it. They're a team that's has shown itself to be the most resilient to that. G2 showed some character even though they are technically LEC 4th.
I think caps is too emotional and inconsistent, you can't go from gapping EVERY other mid in the world to losing to all of them in 2 years, but if he finds himself again G2 won't have to sell him

Nidalee was a bad pick in my opinion, considering that they wanted to give resources to Hans on Draven. Yike also made a kinda weird mistake, they were winning bot and they should have stomped it hard, but then he chose to focus more on top side, which was supposed to be a weakside for BB. After botlane got on an even footing, the game was over, no matter what G2 would produce. Also, I was surprised that Caps was on carry champs all games, considering his slump in form, expected more of a tank duty for him after devastating game 1, Chovy just gapped him hard this series.

Honnestly the gap is just way too huge and widen every year. No flame toward G2, they did their best, but I frankly wonder whether it makes sens to make eastern and western compete anymore. The win rate eastern vs western in the past 5 years is way beyond what would be the win rate of a challenger in diamond, and anyone would agree the diff is just too huge in this case, so why would we keep doing that ?
Last year G2 got completely stomped. This year they won a game and should have won game 4 if it wasn't for the baron throw with no Kennen flash.

But that's the point, "close" or "should" is not a thing here, they decided to go for that kennen flank 10 seconds early, they decided to play it that way, the rest of the team decided to follow the call and give up on nash. These slight decision making mistakes are consistent in Europe, while LCK and LPL are much better when it comes to capitalize on that kind of plays.

You know what. I always supported and will support Caps, but it's time to be honest. I think G2 might've pulled an upset today if you equalized Caps and Chovy. Other than Caps, no one seemed to be out of the league of their opposing laner and seemed competitive. It usually came down to split second horrible decisions and Chovy. Chovy single-handedly won game 4. Yes, some years ago Caps could compete with eastern mid laners, but lately he has been having trouble even against Loud and has been terrible in LEC. Maybe if he picked something with more utility mid instead of Aurelion Sol the team might've made it 2-2. Maybe it's time for G2 to find or at least scout for someone new for mid. I think the rest of the team did good considering GenG is the most hardcore counter team they could have faced. G2's whole gig is about pressuring jungle and finding advantages through that (either top or bot). GenG has been dealing with that all the time in the LCK and they don't really get bothered by it. They're a team that's has shown itself to be the most resilient to that. G2 showed some character even though they are technically LEC 4th.
I think caps is too emotional and inconsistent, you can't go from gapping EVERY other mid in the world to losing to all of them in 2 years, but if he finds himself again G2 won't have to sell him

Tbh, game 1 was winnable for G2 Miky just got caught too many times for them to set up anything and Yike never landing those spears.
Nidalee was a bad pick in my opinion, considering that they wanted to give resources to Hans on Draven. Yike also made a kinda weird mistake, they were winning bot and they should have stomped it hard, but then he chose to focus more on top side, which was supposed to be a weakside for BB. After botlane got on an even footing, the game was over, no matter what G2 would produce. Also, I was surprised that Caps was on carry champs all games, considering his slump in form, expected more of a tank duty for him after devastating game 1, Chovy just gapped him hard this series.
