The Live Wire recording was pioneering and, I think, the best live polka music captured on "tape." The original recording captured the natural energy and excitement of the day and the musicianship was second-to-none. Live Wire II, however, failed to reproduce the understated simplicity of the original trumpet players' work and added compression, gating, and limiting that was not present in the original recording.
