I find that Petal Bouche feels like pretty much nothing on the lips, whereas the Velveteen stayed slightly tacky on my lips for quite a while (I've only tried it once). Neither feels actively drying, but neither feels moisturising to me. They both look good on the lips after many hours, unless you can't resist the lure of lip balm or greasy food 😄. I never can, so I do need to pay attention and be prepared to top up/repair. I prefer the two Violette FR colours to the red and pink shades in the LE Velveteen. (Amour Fou looks SO good on you, btw.) I didn't have any issues with the delivery with my order from Violette FR. It did take a little while, but I was expecting that and it really wasn't that long. I didn't have any issues so no need to contact customer service. Lisa's deliveries are of course often crazy fast and customer service has very really responsive when I've had issues. Did you see that French retailer Oh My Cream stocks Violette products now? They have shops in Chelsea and Westbourne Grove, so I need to visit and see if they have their products available to try in store.

Try thinner layers or application with a lip brush. Great video. I find (surprisingly for me) amour fou a more flattering color for even everyday use or casual use than ribbon. It is not as bright as ribbon, which I believe gets you the glam look instantly.You’re right, the applicator in the violette_fr helps to get a very crisp application. However, I find a little more comfortable Lisa Eldridge’s formula. The violette_fr feels a little bit dry, although it is only the sensation because I believe it is a runnier formula I don’t feel that one dries more my lips than the other. Another plus for Lisa Eldridge is that this brand offers other colors for a person that do not want to wear red or pink-red colors.

Violette can be bought in a few stores in Paris. I think to be exact, six and all of them pharmacies. Amour fou means mad/ crazy love in English and if it is coeur infidele is unfaithful heart.

Recently bought Affair Velveteen. Its ok. I like it as a stain topped with gloss. It emphasizes fine lines, and feels drying applied opaquely. It doesnt survive a meal (but itsbeasy to reapply). I feel a little let down, but maybe it will grow on me. It could be that matte liquid lipsticks that set, simply cannot look smooth on mature lips (applied full on) because they dont smooth over fine lines, instead they cling.
Hello, I understand what you mean. I have tried a lot of matte liquid lips and Lisa Eldridge's and Violette's are the better ones on the market. They will inevitably be drying to an extend otherwise there's no difference between them or a different finish lip product. I personally felt that these were comfortable, very light-weight and non-drying. However, LE's one felt less dry which is good and bad. On one hand, it's slightly more hydrating than the VFR one but also it means not as longwearing. I also understand what you mean, because regardless of how good a matte liquid lip is, you have to always prep the lips to ensure it's exfoliated and nourished beforehand. Do you by any chance know a liquid lip that perform better than this? I would love to know as I'm always on the lookout for matte liquid lip products. Thanks so much for watching and commenting xxx
@@theeditbydh I adjusted my comment. I was in the fall from my sky high expectations ( I wanted the finish of NYX soft matte lip creams with the longevity of Maybelline Matte inks). I ended up liking it blotted on with fingers and topped with clear gloss (Rimmel). I wish i had the Sigma liquid lip to compare, because I remember it looking much less dry than standard, but other than that, I cant say ive tried better. But since it doesnt survive a meal for me, id say the NYX soft matte creams are a beautiful alternative.
Can confirm that it's been very difficult for quite some years now, to buy from Selfridges, living in the EU. Not sure if anything has happened lately, I kind of gave up trying.

I loved the Lisa E one on you in the previous video but also have to compliment the Violette one that you are wearing here. Very, very pretty. I would like to wear lipstick etc. that does not disappear after a few hours, I hope you understand what I mean. (To spend good money I would like to have some color left after a few hours.) After watching your video I might give one a try and see. I have been checking the LE website on the eyeshadows but it takes forever to get them restocked. You might like Velveteens, I got mine last week and it’s quite long lasting, even when it fades it’s quite gracefully with some stain behind.

Violette fr lipstick colors looks interesting, but she has a terrible customer service. Will look for other places to buy her lipsticks in Europe.
