First of all thanx a lot for the great shout out and the awesome words regarding my photography!
I really enjoyed your honest and authentic reaction.
When suggesting Lord of the lost I wasn't sure whether you're going to like it or not.If not, it would have been fine for me as well, as you're describing your personal feelings. But of course I am happy that you liked what you heard and what you saw.
In general with rock, metal, gothic, ... music very often the music and the instruments are in focus. But I also believe, that it is a question of being used or trained to this combination of music and instruments. For me, as a fan and listener of gothic and alternative music (including goth metal, symphonic metal, power metal, doom metal, ...) this is every day "business".
Lord of the Lost are a very good live band as well. As they are still a rather "small" band they do not play the big venues (except festivals like Mera Luna) and there are not so impressive live videos, that cover the experience you do have there. I can promise, that the air is burning, when the rock the stage. They are very good musicians and Chris Harms (the singer) has got a fantastic voice and is multi instrumentalist. They did three acoustic albums with an ensemble (Swan Songs) and played with full orchestra at "Gothic meets Classic" in one of the most prestigious classic concert halls.
Although they are, as above mentioned, still not that big they do have a couple of high quality produced videos. And they do have stripped down songs where the lyrics are ore in focus.
I'll think about some more at least interesting bandsI know.:-)
This is my all time favorite band, and I love how you reacted. I am into rock and metal, and that was very raw how you told as you feel. Cool.
As a North American like you, we are just are not exposed to much beyond the bubble gum and lollipop top 40 stuff from the radio here. I just happened to stumble upon LOTL a few months ago here on TH-cam and I fell in love with the sound of them (and European metal in general). I find they are actually really versatile in what they can do and it really keeps it fresh and interesting for me the way they can change things up. They can do it all--and I love that about this band! I never considered myself someone who enjoyed growls and screams until I listened to a few of their songs, and it even took a couple of listens of the same songs for me to get past the 'idea' of the growls and actually HEAR what he is saying and suddenly it clicked and I got it. I am now able to 'hear' why it was added and understand how much it really does add to or improve a song! And then he can switch things up and you get the beauty of the music behind swan songs! Oh ya. I'm a lifer! with these guys.
I'm glad you are trying something new for you as well. I like hearing your thoughts on what and why you enjoy--or don't enjoy something. Nightwish was my intro to this world of amazing music and it will always have a special place for me, but there is also so much more out there for us to discover! Keep on learning and listening and discovering! Greetings from Canada!
Oh, and if you are really interested in lyrics, A Splintered Mind has some amazingly accurate lyrics. He has either been through some nasty things in his life or he knows someone who has. Beautiful song and completely different from this one. th-cam.com/video/hunl3mRvpdw/w-d-xo.html
Even though they will be the opening act for Iron Maiden next year, Lord of the Lost are such an underrated band. They are musically incredibly creative and therefore sometimes difficult to assign to a genre. For example, they mixed metal with Salza in the song “La Bomba”. If you want to see more official music videos from Lotl I would recommend the songs "Loreley" and "Morgana". If you want to see a live concert I would recommend the song "Blood for Blood". Most of the time, the song really gets going.
Greetings from Germany. 👋🏻🇩🇪
🙏🙏🙏 ty!
LotL sind live einfach nur genial und super coole, nette Typen
Ich hab sie NOCH nicht persönlich getroffen, aber ihr positiver Ruf eilt ihnen voraus. :)
lord of the lost raining stars
they also do a lot of music with symphonies, they are very versatile, I hope you explore them deaper, but nice review dude!
Yeah, late to the party I know. TH-cam just put you on my recommendations today. And since it´s LOTL, I had to click it. Never seen such a score card thing, but I really like it, and I am really impressed, how objective and analytic you go through all the points.
And I totally can understand your point of not really following the lyrics at first hearing. I myself need a few repeats, to finally be able to concentrate more on the lyrics, since the overall music is so overwhelming good.
Welcome to the channel lol 🥂
You should check out 'Haythor' by Lord of the lost, they did a lyric video for it
Good reaction 🎉
I don't know the real origin of the synthetic / weird sound at 10:14 but my guess is simply a sound from a synthesizer. But it is possible, too, that it is a sampled sound from a machine.
But I can clearly identify it as a style element of "Industrial Rock/Metal". That genre is mixing hard rock guitars with synthesizer sounds in a 50/50 manner.
The classic German Industrial Band "Die Krupps" is using such machine sounds very often, too. It symbolizes machinery, industrial production, technics and working processes in factories.
It stands literally for a mixture of real heavy metal production/machinery and heavy machinery and high tech.
Industrial has always a dark "goth" mood to it.
Other industrial bands: Omph!, Kmfdm, Rammstein, Laibach, Die Krupps, Megaherz, Ministry, Einstürzende Neubauten etc.
You can listen to "la bomba" hard and glam. And the video clip. Oh my god.
This was good i went in listen to the song on my own 5 minutes in to get my own opinion first
I liked it alot I think I might even prefer the more hard sounding music if I'm gonna do metal
at around 11:30 that was some great music being played
Extremely underrated artist Unheilig, song is Schenk Mir Und Wunder (he's a German, Tanz metal, pop artist)
Mono Inc, song Two Sinners or Children of the Dark ( really good songs)
PIG, Prey obey (is kinda relatable)
Majorvoice ( Wicked Game)
OOMPH! ( gott ist ein popstar , or labyrinth)
Just a few examples..but Honestly lord of the lost are very difficult to place
lord of the lost loreley
You ned to react to Oomph - beim ersten maltut's immer..
The uncencored version!
His bars were light... lmao.. nah i dig this.
I love instrumentals and listening (up untill now for about 34-35 times, lost count) on repeat, from my point of view, the problem with this track are the repeating lyrics, too simple, repetitive and it ruins the overall experience of the song. Even with that, because as i said,i love the instrumental,i like this song a lot! it's on maximum volume with the headphones on and i have goosebumps all the time
Oh,i realized now the problem....the song is too long! It should have stopped at 3:50 and it would have been perfect.
I bet you loved them. They are unique. I am like you. Check "drag me to hell" by them.
I'm sorry if this sound entitled or stuck up or rude, sth you said rubbed me a bit the wrong way.
Well written music and well written lyrics is not the Same. Or rather well written lyrics do not well written music make.
Actually my biggest problem with rap+hip hop is exactly that lack of music (for lack of better phrasing/words). I can appreciate brilliant Rhymes and clever wordplay very much, but for a lot of rap+hip hop the songs are missing sth or the instrumentals are boring af. Honestly If you can tune out the instrumentals it is a bad song imo. a brilliant poem yes, but a bad song. Then again I'm very much a melody driven Person when it comes to music. The voice to me is just another instrument that completes the song. Maybe that has got sth to do with a heavy influence of classical music, Rock'n'Roll and Metal in my childhood idk.
I do enjoy it though when there's a Rapper in a Rock or metal band. ( linkin Park (eg. Nobody's listening,Bleed it out), Bodycount etc). I also enjoy what I've heard from the Hamilton musical which does a brilliant job with motifs. It is likely s case of I like the vocal style but don't like the music it is mostly set to.
Again sry for ranting. Appreciate your style of reactions and you takinh time to explain why you like or don't like sth.

Please react to NASTY C FT SHANE EAGLE - Paris
Of course its hard...its german music.
Are you seriously comparing Marco's live performance with this studio performance?
I don’t like Industrial Metal. So obviously i didn’t like it. Because i have never loved any of the songs i’v heard from that genre. P.S. Mumble Rap is still worse by infinity times.
lol i respect it
Chris love hip hop by the way.
