    My local surplus store (RIP) still had WWI stuff if you didn't mind digging. Got a front seam fixed bail there when i was about 13 in the early 90s. Found a british-made WWII first aid kit pouch too. Back then, of course, the Vietnam stuff was the real "surplus." They tore it down and built a lousy drug store.

    I have a question not regarding to your video, but do you have any recommendations on websites to find out values of firearms? My aunt became a widow recently and has a bunch of classic firearms she wants to sell (M1 Garand, 30 Carbine, Enfield No. 4) as a few examples. I've seen some websites claiming to be the Kelly blue book of firearms ha! I want to help her so she doesn't get low balled. Hi, Excellent Collection, a question and of those who collect by brand of weapons, for say Beretta or Sig Sauer new of course, there is much talk that with the mr bingo bingo plan (biden) you will have to pay 200 dollars (tax/registration) for each one and for magazine too, most of them come with three, if you can't pay you will have to sell it at a pittance to them, you know what options a gun collector will have or another person who owns several guns...Thanks for you time greetings from Colorado

    I just bought a cz 27, or labeled fnh pistole modell 27 Kal 7.65. it was manufactured in 1945, but it has no Nazi proof marks and the grips have a blank circle where the cz logo should be. I got it in nice shape for 300 doll hairs, nice blueing, few scratches and dings. I considered it surplus, but the fact it has German on the slide rather than czech makes me think it was manufactured under the Nazis but left the factory after czechoslovakia was "liberated" from the Nazis. I really don't know if it could be considered collectable, what do you think?

    I haven't bought it yet but I am looking at a Yugo m48. They want $600, (which includes shipping to the ffl) I'm guessing that's way too much? I would really really like to find a German K98k but I have never seen one in person or for sale. Any advise?

    Great video! Is there any collector market for items within the sphere of military but possibly had been on the consumer market as well. For example, stumbled on an old fur hat recently marked "Lago Mutzen Munchen 1944". Clearly a wartime item but do not think it's necessary German military exclusive. Follow your channel for the history, not a collector but thought the item was interesting. Happy Thanksgiving.

    • @theelodgeovkeku
      @theelodgeovkeku 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Talking out of my ass here but adrian helmets were probably scrapped en masse. Sam Cummings of Interarms fame started his career by spit shining a heap of Stahlhelme he bought from a junkyard and flipping them for a good profit. If kraut pots could make their way into a junkard then adrians stood no chance IMO.

    Commonality vs. rarity, that's what I thought as well. Of course one man's trash is another man's treasure, it's just a saying but it does have an impact on an item's value. If you were to pit a K98k against a Mosin Nagant 91/30 and both were equally rare and in great shape, the K98k would be more collectible in the eyes of potential buyers, because the K98k and Mausers in general are seen as collectible in a way that Mosins usually aren't.
