Watching the vods for this and hearing RT talking from time to time about the Final Fantasy games and how odd but fantastic they are really makes me want to watch him do a playthrough of any one of the games so bad. My dad and I don't talk a lot about his childhood, but one of the few things I do know is he spent an entire summer when he was younger playing through Final Fantasy VII. He goes through phases of playing video games, but it's clear any time a new Final Fantasy game comes out he instantly gets back into gaming. Despite never playing or watching any of the games, they hold a weird sense of nostalgia for me. Typing this out I really gotta get into the games lmao.
i remember when i was somewhat younger and some youtubers were saying what a good game mario rpg is i remember some even being super specifically about hating mallow and man i dont see it. He seems completely fine people made him out to be an absolute useless character and just rly annoying in the story and from what i saw he seems good enough to clear the game and he wasnt even nearly as annoying as people said he was.
Back then Mallow’s spells were fine but not really as useful as a lot of the time you’d rather have peach and Geno for the most Utility. Mallow is 100% fine in the original but here in the remake a lot of his base stats and magic power has been buffed, making him genuinely amazing. A lot of his triple moves in the remake are also broken like the Bowser Mario Mallow one.
So as for what happened with exor geno whirl is an attack that Insta kills any regular enemy now most bosses have this disabled somehow in development in the original super Mario rpg they forgot to turn the guard on for exor only hence why he gets one shot it’s a well known exploit and I’m amazed they kept it in the remake

i believe that they kept it in as an easter egg either way its a fun way to show reference to the older game
