It is a Vanilla of wood, aromatic and muted, full of resinous nuances.
Spices mingle with Musk, I smell very clearly the Guaiac, and then what looks like a Peruvian Balsam and Juniper. It is the smell of a tale, chimeric and mysterious.
After an hour on my skin, the scent changes.
An emanation of smoked chestnuts, straight out of the pans simmering in an Alsatian half-timbered house. It's the smell of an alternative reality, that of a cursed poet immersed in his books, and of the smoke from an alchemist's still.

@@followthefragrance3577 Oh that Texas heat is something else. I lived in Austin for 7 years so I'm well aware! I enjoyed the Musc Ravaegeur, but felt it was a tad too powdery for my taste.

Of all fragrances on the planet, Musc Ravageur is by some distance, the last one to buy blind! It's massively divisive, with many (very, very many) punters being unwilling or unable to cope with its famous, fecal, barnyard undertones. By all means grab a small sample until you're certain that it's right for you and that you can handle the fact that many frag-heads have nicknamed it, "Eau de septic tank"! Bon chance, Mon ami!!

You convinced me to buy this. One hears negative comments, that it's too strong, or that it's for women only. I like Polo original and those strong scents. Have you heard of the oil version of this? Thanks for the good review.
MR in the colder weather is absolutely amazing. lucky i live in london lots of cold weather to wear this. ALso would highly reccoment Guerlain l'homme ideal edt. also a nice casual sophisticated scent that has sweet notes
Great review man. MR is definitely not for everyone. It's on my top 5 all time. Thats saying a lot cuz I own over 80 fragrances and have smelled countless more. Keep doing your thing.
Thank you for your review! It's hard for me to imagine that some people do not enjoy this; however, the friends of mine who do not enjoy it are not as old as I am. I truly can't get enough of this fragrance. I have Dries Van Noten on the way and can not wait to review it.

It has great longevity on my skin, but low sillage. It stays very close to the skin. I have the current formulation.

Nice review ... Though to me Musc R was not a pleasant experience . I am sorry to say that reminded me of old people soiled diper . Urinal vanilla is all i get and i am so disappointed. The base is very long lasting. I don't know what's wrong with my nose . Happy with all the people that enjoy it . C ya

In the begining it's not good and very strong but after a few minutes is transforming in a wonderful warm musck vanilla fragrance.i love it, i bought a big bottle❤

I live in Ft Worth, can you please kind of explain what Musk smells like? I have a mental picture of smelly animal gland smell. I’m just confused on the Musk part.

It is really amazing. Not aggressive at all, nothing but compliments on my skin every single time I wear it. Compliments from ladies 20 and up, so far no negative feedback. Maybe I am lucky and it really works with my skin. I am referring to the current formulation.

I am going to do a review of the Nasomatto fragrances I own (7 or 8 of them) and give them ranks and my opinion. Black Afgano is a good scent, but not something I wear often and it doesn’t captivate my attention as much I hoped. There is something of a sickly sweet smell in it that I wish were toned down.

@@hocineted7594 You want to dress this baby up fam. Like a button up and some nice fitted jeans. Sure, a young man can wear it. Just make sure you wear it with confidence. Head up, chest out and shoulders back. Exude that you are that dude. Trust me, once you smell it, you are going to be in love. Mainly the women. Its a chick magnet 🧲

I think it would work well. It’s not overtly masculine and could be very sensual for a woman to wear. I suggest trying it first though.

Clifton Ledbetter it’s such a good scent. I’ve not disliked any fragrance from FM. It’s simple and does what it was made to do: be a powerhouse of sexy masculine fragrance.

Meh, it’s just cinnamon, they destroyed it with the reformulation. For something so pricey and out of reach for most upon it’s release they should of left it unchanged.

It’s interesting you say that. I’ve heard that from a few people, but I’ve never experienced it myself. There are a few high end niche I own that smell very fecal and I won’t wear them for that reason. Next winter when I pull this out I’ll see if I can pick up any urine scents.
