Thank you for this video. I was about to cut the same floral mosaic into 5 3/4” backsplash sections today. After watching your video I cut with the cardboard and plastic wrap in place. This was NICE! I had not done that before. (DIY homeowner- don’t do new kitchens and baths often enough). I messed up first tile by pushing sled too fast, the rest of the cuts were great. Thank you for sharing!
BEST TIP EVER!!!! I was struggling with chipped cuts at the beginning of the reno. I ended up renting a medium tile saw at Home Depot for $60 and the cardboard tip worked. Perfect cuts and great install. Thanks for posting!!
I have had a number of jobs doing backsplashes with the second tile you used. Have always had problems cutting them without the little chips. This is a great tip! Thanks Bob!!!
Adhering the mosaic to 1/8 in backer, then cutting after it has set up works well also. Assuming that your mosaic is thinner than the field tile. Thanks for everything you share on this channel.
with some mosaics I find in necessary to unplug the water pump and cut dry because the backer mesh glue is water soluble and they just fall apart when they get wet.
This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.
This is a good tip however if you used a piece of cement board large enough to place the sheet of mosaic and raised your blade so it cuts thru the mosaic but not to cut the whole cement board works like a zero clearance insert on a table saw, makes a nice clean cut and small pieces don't fall in the wide gap of the tray also works for glass tile a lot less chips and don't need to use tape.
Would you use this method, but upside down, if your wet saw has the blade coming from the bottom, not the top? To clarify, I mean then the tile would lay face down on table with its cardboard backing on top.
Oh boy! What are the friggin odds that you have the exact same tile I’m buying!!!! I’m an electrician and have no clue what I’m doing lol. Was wondering if the little pieces would be flying all over the place when cutting. Looks like it’s a negative on that. Gonna check out the rest of your channel
Good tips 👍🏻, and yes cardboard turns into mush , besides of making a water mess with theses wet saw the waterless saw would come into play here real good for those cuts , been thinking a lot about it lately but OUCH ! Mucho dinero still . Good stuff as always best regards.
These types of mosaic tiles are hard to cut around receptacles as a back splash. lot of cutting on multiple tiles on the mesh sheet. tell the wife that right?
You have lots of great video so props! For the love of Pete do not tell folks it's okay to handle a blade on the fly. Yes I have. Still I would never tell someone let alone a potentially large audience it's okay.
OMG.... I'm not gonna ask my hubby to put his hands that close to a running blade....... My grandfather lost his first index finger digit by cutting it a little too close for comfort. YIKES!! NOT sharing with my husband who would be making this cut for my benefit
I love the pearl p4 turbo mesh blade. You can't use your finger to move the blade while you're cutting but it cuts very well, straight, fast, very little chipping.
I'm greedy ??? Hmmmmm.... well let us explore that, give me your three favorite TH-camrs that you subscribed to and I will tell you how much each one makes on a monthly basis from TH-cam....I'll wait ⏰
Then don't donate. (Disclaimer: I'm a Patreon supporter, just a few bucks a month but Bob's videos have saved me thousands in costs I would have incurred making rookie mistakes.)

I use blue painters tape on the top of the mosaic tile and doing the marking on the tape.
Awesome. Getting ready for similar marble backsplash. Glad I tuned in before I took all the mosaics out of their sleeves.

Great tip, I'll give it a try 👍
Thanks for the tip of cutting the edge straight. I fn needed that. I gotta order more tile.
How about using a square to mark a straight line?
Nice work sir! Thank from Kosago Vietnam with love
We just installed that in our last shower, and it's a pain! But looks good behind a niche or feature inlay.
Total pain...did it on my curbless shower video a few weeks ago, on floor & niche, hard to cut/piece together well.
Anything like that I alway set in Kerdi first, makes the job 1000 times easier.

Very informative, thanks for posting.
Where are these tiles from? I love them

Which blade do you recommend for marble?
@matt3122 i don't have a favorite as long as it is brand new out of the package that i would get at home depot for $60
Hi there. Thanks for the vid. Do you know if I could cut through the package like this on a conventional tile saw? The type without the sled?
Wet saw ....Manuel saw prob not
This technique worked great for us on a non-sliding wet saw. Thank you!
Nothing cuts better than the DEWALT wet saw!
Details are huge! Great information. Thank you sir
I thought I was the only one.
Thanks for the post.

Ha! I was cringing. It's the nurse in me. Thanks for the tips :)

😂😂😂
I am using a very similar mosaic right now.
Great safety tip on how to stop your blade....NOT!
🤦 one day too late for my powder room accent wall mosaic. Here's to filling in a hundred or so edges today. Yikes
😂😂😂😂
Isaacs tile saw went through his finger.
Thanks for the video.
THANK YOU SIR!
Thanks
Holy crap, OSHA much?
So beautiful brother
You are lucky you still have your fingers

It’s a diamond blade. Won’t cut you by touching it. Now don’t be stupid and push your hand against it and dare it to cut you, but generally it’s safe.
Son, I taught you them tricks years ago. Gee wiz, ya could've given me a shout out...just sayin
So beautiful brother i know
Looks like a good way to slice a finger off...
It cut through fingernail
👍
Best blade best cut
What blade do you recommend?
@@JC-dg9fn i dont, i was hoping bob would say
