I took this train recently from Takayama to Nagoya en route to Tokyo. It was a comfortable ride and I enjoyed the scenic views. Takayama, while a small town, was a very pleasant place to stay.

Thank you very much for an informative video. We are coming back in April and contemplating BUS or TRAIN from Nagoya to Toyoma . Our last visit in November 23 we did a lot of trains but not buses. Just love everything and everyone in japan.very best wishes from Sri Lanka cheers

Thank you for your comment. If you sit on the right side, you can see the Tateyama Mountain Range. You can see the autumn leaves from either the left or right seat.

Thank you for your comment. On the limited express Hida No. 3 bound for Toyama, cars 9 and 4 (the 2nd and 3rd cars from the front) are non-reserved seats.

how much was the ticket to Takayama from the machine? and can we use Suica card to pay for that ticket instead of credit card or cash?

Thank you for your comment. From Nagoya to Takayama, a train ticket and limited express ticket cost ¥5,940. Payment at the ticket vending machine can be made by cash or credit card. Suica cannot be used.
