ソロデビュー二十周年記念アルバム「TSUGARU」が完成！上妻宏光の原点である津軽五大民謡を、上妻宏光の独奏と三味線界よりスペシャルゲストを招き、競演やコラボレーションで魅せる上妻流三味線の決定盤。ゲスト : 澤田勝秋（津軽三味線）、津軽民謡歌手 長谷川勝枝 (唄)、本條秀太郎（三味線）参加。

[AGATSUMA Profile ]
Born in Ibaraki prefecture, Japan in 1973 Began playing Tsugaru shamisen at the age of six, and was highly acclaimed from a young age; winning numerous Tsugaru shamisen contests and so forth. Joined rock band, MUSASHI, in 1990.
Began full-scale solo live performances in 2000, and even held sessions with musicians native to New York and New Orleans.
The second album released to date was awarded the Japan Gold Disc Award Traditional Japanese Music Album of the Year.
In 2003, Agatsuma made his US-wide debut.
His performances with artists from Japan and abroad transcending genres drew attention from far and wide.
Agatsuma has performed in over 30 countries to date, including the USA, EU, South America, and Africa, and played alongside big names such as Herbie Hancock (P), Marcus Miller (B), Larry Coryell (G), and BOBBY McFERRIN (Vo).
Agamatsu also participates in, and provides music for, movies, Kabuki theatre, dramas, commercials, live theatre products and various other scenes.
He has also given performances on commemorative occasions, such as TOKYO2020 Official Banquet, TICAD V "Official Banquet", and the Third Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Commemorative Banquet.
He is undeniably one of Japan’s most renowned shamisen musicians,
as exemplified by the fact that he directed and performed on stage at “Astana Expo 2017” held in in order to introduce Japanese culture to the world.
Moreover, Agamatsu offers lessons conveying the appeal of traditional Japanese music in elementary schools across Japan in an effort to pass on culture to future generations.
On March 4, 2020, “TSUGARU” was released as a 20th anniversary work.
to mark his 20th year as a solo artist. The album will feature he Five Tsugaru Songs, the Five Great Tsugaru Songs played on the shamisen.
On the same day, he will release Asteroid and Butterfly,
a debut album from the collaboration unit, Yano et Agatsuma, that originated from a collaborative concert with Akiko Yano in New York in 2014.

同系列師匠の三味線弾きですがあがっちこそ鬼才だと思います、撥音がｷﾚｲで叩いても撥音が雑音にならない、彼以外でこの撥音出した人は白川軍八郎だけだと思います、私はこんな繊細な撥音出せません、よって三味線を今休んでます。
生で聞いたらヤクルト1本分、涙が出ると思います

アニメのラストシーンに津軽三味線を競うシーンがあり、「仁太坊」が弾く三味線を上妻宏光さんが演奏しています
そのシーンを何度見ても泣けてきます 吾妻さんの津軽三味線は、心にしみわたる「仁太坊」の演奏そのものだと思います

昔ライブ行ったけど洋楽的な曲はうまかったけど民謡は自分でも分かるくらい下手だった。これは上手いから練習したんだね。
素人だからうまく言えないけど、とてもクリアで、高低のハッキリした素晴らしい演奏だと思いました。でもなんかこう、、、感情？風景？情緒？なんかわからんが淡々とした演奏とも思ってしまった。あ、素人発言なんで。ただ、なんか気になっただけなので。失礼致しました。
