Brushing your teeth in the shower... now that's multi-tasking! Kind of reminds me of that old Seinfeld episode where Kramer installs a garbage disposal in his bathtub so that he can make salad in the shower. 😆
Absolutely! You should build a custom bucket to your specifications. I'd like to see you make a 3D model with your 3D printer after you have it figured out on paper and before you start cutting steel 😊
Definitely build a bucket wouldn't be hard bucket ain't cheap no more even used ones I can tell that ditch has some soft mud in it is perfect for muskrats good video
There’s zero investment in boat ownership. I’ve owned 3 in my teens for water skiing and fishing. Even if you get a good deal, you will toss money into it. Plus learn boat repair. 😂 But the shows are fun to go to. I didn’t make it to Louisville this year. We had to take care of some family stuff. Maybe next year you and I will go. I’m too close to not go! Definitely build a bucket. Love the fabricating too.
Just love watching muck jiggle. Used to work for a potato farm and we worked a lot of muck and you could just see that ground roll as equipment went over it🙃😬😁. I'm weird I guess.lol
Thanks for sharing Brandon, that sure is a slimy mess you are digging out. Maybe next year you can go to the farm machinery show 👍oh by the way build the bucket
@@dirtgrainsteel Your welcome, ditch cleaning is satisfying work! I just have a backhoe but dipping a little ditch or panning a surface ditch in with the 613 is fun, then to see how good the water flows is a bonus, lol.
I always liked keeping the dirt away from the ditch at least far enough I can get a dozer behind it and push it out in the field never liked the way water would get dammed up and cause a loss of crops being drowned out, 100 feet from the ditch! By the way build the bucket, you will always do a better job than you can buy.
The laser transit would be the same but the grade eyes would be different the tile plow will a eye that tells the plow to go up or down through the counsel that controls the hydraulic valves....on a excavator you just use what's called a depth master which is still a grade eye that goes on the excavator stick but it has arrows that light up that you watch to go up or down to dig your grade.....now if I went with a GPS system for the plow then I could also use it on the excavator but then again there are different parts such as sensors and things that are different than what the plow uses.....so it's a yes and no answer and maybe someday we will go through all of it in a video by far laser is the simplest and easiest form of cheap reliable guidance
I'd love to see someone get a piece of steel and roll it and build one from scratch that would be some good fabrication content almost as good as a 5020 overhaul.ill search you tube for some of that today
master of the muck! could not believe the rocking of the excavator on the soft ground as you were dumping the bucket. can they pull out the “tile” and use the same pipes and put it deeper? or do they have to start over? it was so neat to see the backed up , start to flow down the new dug ditch, great job can not wait for tomorrow!
For what tile cost it's not worth the time and effort it would take to pull it back out so you just go beside it and just run another in deeper and farther....I went back the next morning and that ditch had very little water in it so it was a job well done I had to go back a ways and dip some snags out but nothing serious
always wondered are you trying to cut any kind of grade on this ditch so it has fall or just trying to dig out all the soft mud and call it good just wondering on tips and tricks reasons
The old timers that dug these ditches were pretty spot on with there grade so If it's a sand bottom ditch you will want to see maybe a 2" layer of clean sand on your cutter edge and floor of your bucket that's deep enough now when you get to the muck and peat moss then you just have to kinda judge it by feel you dig until the bottom feels firm and alot of times like I said in the video you will have to take 3 or 4 buckets before you move because it just keeps floating towards you.....around here you will never actually get grade in a ditch to the point where it will eventually run dry we just have so much ground water they always have water in them
@@dirtgrainsteel i see thats kinda wat i thought just kinda clean out the sediment and good enough cause not like its not gonna fill in again and thanks look forward to seeing more
I’m looking at putting ears and a support beam on an old loader bucket myself, don’t know if I trust my welding abilities that much. I bid on a couple different 6’ ditching buckets this last summer. but I quit at about $3500. They went over 4K + auction fees. I don’t have a coupler for my komatsu 250, they are crazy price.
I just wonder quite why you have thoughts about making a drainage bucket when there will surely be plenty of other reasons calling for your engineering skills and workmanship as we are coming into the busy Spring period. Perhaps increasing the width of a second hand one or repairing one, perhaps even hiring one in the short term? I obviously understand the potential cost savings but could your talents be better employed on some other task?
If you start with a wheel loader bucket like we did for our 270 it really don't take very long to make a excavator bucket plus these projects keep my skills in check
Bucket building would be an interesting watch.👍
Makes me miss my ‘99 EX200LC-5. I thoroughly enjoyed this video just watching that 200 hum along. Thanks for sharing!🤙🏽
Your welcome thanks for watching this old hoe will always be my favorite it's eventually going to get a make over
Definitely build a big ol monster bucket 😁
Great ditch bucket very mucky video great to watch great mucking job Brandon
Yes what the hell it would be a good winter project and it will keep you guys warm in the process.
Of course you should build a bucket-it’ll be great. Maybe you can loan it DP some time.
Glad you got away for the weekend and had fun. You make it so easy. God bless you and your family. Thanks for all the great work.
Build the new ditch bucket!!!!!
Good video Brandon. Thanks
Thanks for watching!

Yeah they aren't cheap thats for sure....I can't believe there wasn't a single rat in this ditch

Seems like everyone has the same views on boats lol maybe you can try to make it to the utility expo in September!!...I really want to build a bucket
@@dirtgrainsteel Where is the Expo
Yup, build the bucket.
Most definitely

I like the ride of diging muck lol actually this was alot firmer than I thought it was going to be it wasn't very much fun I was alittle let down
build a bucket that way you know what you have , thanks good video
Great video
Thanks!
Of course build your own bucket, with your skills you’ll have one of a kind and be exactly what you want….. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you!
Boat = bust out another thousand. God bless
👌🤘🤘🤘🤘
The two best days in a boat owner's life are the day he buys the boat, and the day he sells it.
Boat is a hole in the water you throw money into!!
Build a bucket!
👍
yes build it
Yes build a bucket and make it bigger
I definitely want wider
B.O.A.T.= Break out another thousand
Can't never have enough buckets
No you can't!
You sure could see how mucky that ditch was, it was wobbling like jello and you were yards away!
I was hoping it was going to be alittle softer it was firmer than I thought it was going to be lol
Thanks for sharing Brandon, that sure is a slimy mess you are digging out. Maybe next year you can go to the farm machinery show 👍oh by the way build the bucket

Build a bucket, sounds like a good project...
Nice job!
Thank you!

When you get your grade control for your tile machine, could you also use it on the excavator to help with digging diches?

What size bucket do you think the 220 could handle?
Well the 200 will handle a 9' 6" bucket so with the 220's extra weight I think it will handle up to a 10' bucket
Is muck the same thing as peat?
Peat is usually found under muck it's just as soft

Don't know why but your volume is low all the time. I can just hear you with mine all the way up.only one I have problems with. Thanks
Well if you really want to see a boat show head down to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show & Dow Corning Silicone Expo.
That just sounds like there are some expensive boats lol
