I'm a grown man and I can truly say your passion for reptiles and eye for cinematography inspire me every time you release a video. They just keep getting better and better. Those lo-fi hip hop tracks are soooo chill: This is fantastic content.
See everything I used to create this build here! kit.com/GoHerping/naturalistic-kenyan-sand-boa-kit Keep an eye out for future videos, I'll be reviewing a few of the items I used individually soon.
You've really got a talent. I'm 30 years old and have kept reptiles for years and I am learning some really cool stuff watching your builds. Keep up the great work!
Dude your vivarium builds are soooo good now like your Ball pythons (sunny) enclosure looks so sick aswell as this one you definitely need to keep making new builds like this for all your reptiles/herps
Hi Alex, a little tip I learned from a bunch of forums is to actually tape the thermostat probe under the tank, right in between the tank and the UTH using aluminum tape. That way the probe isn’t inside the tank getting moved around or peed on, if the animal pees on it, if can cause the thermostat to over heat. This is also the method my vet suggested. Just a heads up :)
I could never keep my spanish moss alive in my terrarium. I spray it everyday and my humidity is very high. I collect new ones and in a few weeks its dead.
It is likely. I imagine that Spanish moss requires water that is more similar to rain water like reverse osmosis. Plain tap water probably has too much minerals to it.
I have some fish, and I use the water from their tank from water changes to water my house plants. It's already been filtered and treated for the fish, and the nitrates in it are at a great balance for plants. My plants love it, and there's no calcium buildup on the topsoil like tapwater usually creates.( ; v ; )
Oh and also, if you had other plants in there, it's possible that they could have overrun the spanish moss. If the water you used had a higher Ph, other plants would flourish from it, to the point of aggressively driving out the spanish moss. Spanish moss doesn't so much have a preference for Ph than just that other plants don't do well with water in the 5.0 - 5.5 range. Which just means that with a lower Ph, your spanish moss won't be bullied into submission.. if that was what was going on before. * s h r u g * :'3
Hey, so, to solve the problem with the clay, heres a tip. Take some claybased, non chemical/toxic kitty litter, take it with 1/3 cat litter, 2/3 top soil, then mix together, then add water and you get home made repti-putty! I wanna patent it but it works SO WELL in your tanks, I've used it as a silicone replacement in some tanks when putting bark as a background and I've built an entire waterfall in my garter-snake enclosure out of the stuff, try it out sometime!
Absolutely a gorgeous vivarium. I wasn't too sure about the sand but the way you did it and designed everything... just awesome! Keep up the great content!
Absolutely brilliant! I really applaud the effort and creativity you put into these Alex- you’re a really inspirational channel and I’m so glad I found you- your quirky and very entertaining personality and sense of humour mixes perfectly with your great filming and editing skills to create fantastic videos! Thanks so much for sharing all this with us 👍
Yo the moment you hit 100K I will be so proud of you YO OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HEARTING THE COMMMENT THAT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME! I WISH I COULD HAVE AS MANY REOTILES AS YOU. omg srry im so exited I wuv you goherping. thank you
Ive been wanting a sand boa for so much time but no matter how much I try to convince my parents they are completely harmless and cute, it’s still a no
I couldn’t find that new thermostat anywhere!!! Finally found them on EBay of course, got two for a new build I’m doing for my Mexican Kingsnake and Ball Python, they are so much more streamlined than the others on the market. Thanks for the video, you guys deserve way more subs! This videos editing was perfect as usual!
NP :) I really enjoy your videos, you are most likely not even half my age but would have no problem hanging out with you and treating you like someone my age :)
You can actually use a little dab of hot glue and stick the air plants to anything. So you could put them on the glass and make an entire wall of air plants or arrange them across the back wall to add more to what you already have there. Heck with as many as you have you might be able to do both lol 😂
Is reptisand safe for Sand Boas in their enclosure? I use it for my leapord geckos as I feed them from tongs, or out of a bowl to avoid impaction. Was just wondering if it's safe for it to burrow in it. Also would you recommend a light, or heat pad? I just got a male 100% het snow baby sand boa, and want to make sure he grows up to be a healthy breeder.
Nice job. You are a creative and passionate young man. I should mention however that air plants do not mix well with the dry environment that Sand Boas usually live in. Although, they can and do live in more humid environments, a sand set up like this one is usually not one of those. Those air plants will need to be soaked once a week and/or misted to stay alive and healthy. Looks very cool though.
This was fantastic to watch and I'd absolutely love to this for my little sand boa.....once he grows up, baby is to nervous for anything more then a small tub right now
Yeah, hoping to do that soon! Although im not sure if they're in-stores as of this comment, so I should make sure they're already available before doing it lol
Amazing video! I’m sure ember is enjoying her new habitat greatly! although this was far from a sad video, I ended up tearing up thinking about Vera. Wish I could have done this for my baby girl. On a happy note keep up the great work! Further explanation for others: Vera was my baby sand boa that had internal parasites and furthermore led her to starving herself, I euthanized her when I tried everything possible, Rest In Peace.

The "oof" at the end has me in tears! Alex, I love how your humor shines through in you editing.
Yeetinhimer
Katie Shumway if oof has you in tears you should reevaluate what you think is funny
@@hellosenorjarnton9193 You need to reevaluate your life if you have to put people who you've never met down about what makes them happy.
Yes
Your sand boa has the best owner and the coolest habitat it could ever ask for. Great work, Alex. 😁
thanks :)
LOOKS AWESOME !!!
Yeah!
Crazy how u watched go herping and now u have millions of subscribers
#foundexoticslair
The end is soooo relaxing
PYRO TOAD yeah
OOF
*o o f*
PYRO TOAD OOF
All the fun ends when you need to clean the tank 😂😂😂😅😄
hes going to have to pull every fucking plant out LOL
It didn't exactly get easier... but still worth it
which reptitemp do you use?
God yeah he doesn't have any sort of decomposer insect. No crivkets, no springtails, no isopods. I know the last two prefer moisture but still
You don't really have to if it's a viv
Alex, I feel like your humor grows every single video!
Literally right before it fell I was thinking “what if the entire background fell off...I’d cry”
I got a 3 month old baby boy two weeks ago, just last night I was thinking about how I could make his tank more interesting. SO. MUCH. INSPIRATION!
Katie Elaine omg took me a minute to realize you were keeping a baby snake not a baby human in a tank lol
I thouggt you had your child in a tank 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol thought replies meant human babies in a military tank
This was fantastic!! Loved seeing how you set it all up and then watching Ember enjoy the new home.
Makes me happy to see thats there's people like you who care so much about their reptiles, keep up the great work.
I love how you left the mistakes in the build in your video! Added personality to the overall shoot and made the build more realistic.

GoHerping, if you're going to make a tank like this then would you say that sand in that matter is okay if you have those 2 substrates???
You've really got a talent. I'm 30 years old and have kept reptiles for years and I am learning some really cool stuff watching your builds. Keep up the great work!

Ember is just gonna dig those plants up
She's already dug up a few, but keeps the majority in place lol
I could never keep my spanish moss alive in my terrarium. I spray it everyday and my humidity is very high. I collect new ones and in a few weeks its dead.
might be your water to blame
It is likely. I imagine that Spanish moss requires water that is more similar to rain water like reverse osmosis. Plain tap water probably has too much minerals to it.
To much water
I have some fish, and I use the water from their tank from water changes to water my house plants. It's already been filtered and treated for the fish, and the nitrates in it are at a great balance for plants.

I bet the sand boa loves it!
Love this video your editing quality has been improving so much lately.
Thanks!
That looks amazing, you did such a good job with the live plants.
Those Tillandsias are stunning!
What a beautiful vivarium! And I bet the snake enjoys it too. Thank you, I will do a similar one for my sand boa when I'll finally get one :)
Keep up the good work, great editing
Very pretty....will be looking into those products for my new snake next year! Thanks Alex! 😉
The oof at the end got me. Lol great video!
Such a great video! I can't wait to do a build with the excavator clay! It was so clever to use the balloons! I have some great ideas now!
Whenever i use suction cups, i always run them under hot water for a minute or two before sticking them on, they always stay every time I do that!
Your animals are so lucky to have you! This was so interesting to watch
Yo the moment you hit 100K I will be so proud of you
YO OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HEARTING THE COMMMENT THAT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME! I WISH I COULD HAVE AS MANY REOTILES AS YOU. omg srry im so exited I wuv you goherping. thank you
i can really tell you love your animals. thank you for sharing this.
I just have to do this, that silicone thing with the foam. Improves a tank so much
I felt the emotion at 2:46. I've been there! 😭😂
Absolutely beautiful build, my heart swelled at the end. Love your editing style and music choice. Truly superb content. Cheers!

Ive been wanting a sand boa for so much time but no matter how much I try to convince my parents they are completely harmless and cute, it’s still a no
Ayy It’sJoaquin show them videos
Show them the cutest pictures you can find
Showing a friend my sand boa tank
Hmmm yes, that’s some nice sand
Also if you lick or get the suction cup moist with water, that will increase the amount of suction on the cup
Ugh. I wish I could like the video 20 more times. Love love love.
Awesome job, Alex. it looks amazing
That tank looks beautiful
I couldn’t find that new thermostat anywhere!!! NP :) I really enjoy your videos, you are most likely not even half my age but would have no problem hanging out with you and treating you like someone my age :)
I'm planning on getting a Kenyan Sand Boa and this enclosure is my inspiration lol
Zoomed is amazing. They liked an istagram photo I posted and sent me a free water dish to try. Excellent service.
THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!!
aspen is good because it holds their burrows up. now it has the best of both worlds :)
Holy shit, good content.
Very beautiful setup
MOST SATISFYING VIDEO IN THE WORLD
You’re crazy creative! Love your content
If you’re suction cups don’t work soak them in hot water for 10 minutes then let cool they should work after that👌🏼
I love your channel and the style you film in!
The editing and cinematography is so on point 👌🏻
To be honest, I didn't expect much from 50 air plants but it looks SO good in the end.
Great setup
That is sick. One of the coolest boss out there! Great job man

Hey Alex! I just wanted to say I love your channel. Yesterday I got a baby cinnamon BP because of you. Keep up the amazing work! 👍
thank you! great choice
Beautiful set up! This was really well shot as well! Good job 👍🏼
That is sooo cool!! Im really happy to see ur vids. Thanks for the vidio!
Happy Noodle!

When the suction cups don't work put a drop of water in them. That usually does the trick
This was fantastic to watch and I'd absolutely love to this for my little sand boa.....once he grows up, baby is to nervous for anything more then a small tub right now
Can you do a full review of the zoo med thermostat? I'm curious about the accuracy and am debating between that and the jumpstart one
Yeah, hoping to do that soon! Although im not sure if they're in-stores as of this comment, so I should make sure they're already available before doing it lol
GoHerping Awesome, thanks! Keep up the good work 🐍
Michelle Ford Mine works pretty well for my Sand Boa, it’s never gone above 95; the probe that is attached to it also seems pretty accurate.
Perfect voice over!! So talented!!
Amazing video! I’m sure ember is enjoying her new habitat greatly! although this was far from a sad video, I ended up tearing up thinking about Vera. Wish I could have done this for my baby girl. On a happy note keep up the great work!

Just so beautiful 😍 you're very artistic and talented...
Great video 👍
Yay i can finally have a reference for making a sand boa vivarium
Ayy a heart. Thats more than my father ever gave me
Best tank i hav ever seen
Should be proud
Beautiful setup as well as artistic video as well! Super impressive all around
Thanks!
You know the drill
0. Kenyan sand boa
1.Ball python
2.Corn snake
3.Rat snake
4.Leopard gecko
5.Crested gecko
6.King snake
7.Gargoyle gecko
8.Savannah Monitor
Finn Hardy ngl I wanna see a skink bioactive before anything else but dear god yes
Savannah Monitor 😏
Really torn between getting a Kenyan or a ball
Lysa Mae If you want something you can see and handle get the ball python. Plus ball pythons have so many morphs to choose from.
marquise Washington right I decided to go with them first ! Def will get a sand boa one day ! But can’t stay away from the ball pythons
That’s so pretty and I wish I could do that but my sand boa would dig all of those plants up INSTANTLY 😅
Absolutely brilliant video
thanks!
best video yet
