I appreciate how you teach and play at the same time. Your ae2 video from like a year ago finally got me to try and learn ae2 in 1.21 and I'm starting to get the hang of it after think it was too difficult for so long.
Small Tip: Extractors can be waterlogged, so for basically any extraction recipe requiring water, you can waterlog the extractor itself and save a block of space.
Hey chosen, small request, have bookwyrms flying around the castle! I don't even care if they are not providing any functionality, they would fit right in with the fantasy theme
Side note about Refined Storage: It's not that the mod has yet to be updated, it's that 1.21.1 will be the targeted first release of its successor, RS2. There is no confirmed release date as there are still missing features (WIP Autocrafting), but january or february might be possible.
You said to let you know in the comments...First off I love how you explain things with these mods. I know you have went over AE2 multiple times in other series and you still explain the basics for the newer people. The other thing you do that takes time but is a god send is adding the chapters to the video so noobs like me can go back, easily locate where in the video it is and watch it. Minecraft is one of my zone out games that I can sit in and just work my way through especially if I have a good questbook to refer to. And having your videos to back those up is great. So thank you for all that you do for this community.
I have watched every video of this series at least 2 times! You have helped me progress in so many modpacks! I’m 22 yet I’ll always be happy to learn how these things work!
The base being perfectly aligned in the chunk was so satisfying!! ❤ One thing I'd like to request is that when you have an episode that is as tech heavy as this one, please sprinkle little breaks and do something else. Maybe a little bit of decoration, a little bit of exploring, dip your toes into other more simple and smaller mods, things like that. Doesn't have to be a lot, because I know this will take time away from your main task. Just one or two breaks per episode, every 15 minutes or so in the video. I hope this is useful 😊
Thats what its all about and I try my best to be for the Veteran player and the New player! Someone might see something they didnt know before that that could save them a lot of time when playing!
16:20 yes definitely helps i have only played this mod pack and the cave factory mod pack from a while back most of the modpack is super confusing until i watch the video you came out with that day
There is also a command for unlimited channels if you want to move away from a vanilla AE2 experience. Also, if you put the base processor (I usually have 8 columns of processors and switch from the 1k to 16k ASAP) at the base, you can future proof the set-up, switching out when you want to upgrade the capacity. There is also a mega-processing array, but it will require materials such as singularities to build. Incidentally, a floor of ME drive bays is visually interesting and provides lots of room for specific storage such as a fluid or radiation hard drive.
Well I got AE storage as soon as I found a spot for a base... I kinda did everything in wrong order so far xD before getting allthemodium, I already had a proper storage
This channel is so good, I'm pretty sure the editing mistake near the end of the video is actually a masterful way to bait my comment. Well played sir!
Yes but ✨a e s t h e t i c s✨ Tho to be fair I quite like the idea of a massive production chain monstrosity built upon the bastardization of naturally occurring marvels of space
Yup, this is what I'm doing. Got 8 chargers set up with modular routers and 2 distribution cards. They go through like 10 stacks within a few minutes. I toss em all in water with the extracted dust because at this point efficiency be damned 😂
For textures it depends on what I’m building. If I’m going for that bright ‘clean room’ style then the base textures are actually very cool looking, but generally the dark works better for that shadowy server room feel
Quick note on the budding certus blocks: Ars' Break spell with the Extract glyph does not drop the flawless block, it downgrades the block to the next tier (which is ignored by the extractor).
well not exactly. The extract glyph acts as silk touch, but you cannot silk touch the flawless without them degrading. This is why he went over how to move them without them degrading.
@@kennethgee2004 I wasn't sure if he mentioned silk touch specifically, I ran into the issue while watching but it was later in the video by that point. I think it's ridiculous that it's coded in such a way, the whole point of silk touch is to prevent "damaging" the blocks and Mekanism is ubiquitous so it's just a weird behavior.
@@DevelKutta well I did not code AE2 but just telling you what is in the documentation for AE2. The fact that Mekanism works is because it places the block into a different programmed structure so the block is not technically mined. This is also why the cut and paste gadget works. Anything that mines the block will cause the flawless to degrade.
You can put a storage bus on a sink and AE will show u unlimited amount of water. I found it useful to not craft sink each time for some processes that require water.
Adding to this; connect a matter condenser to a sink with your pipe of choice (faster is better) and you can create singularity for the quantum bridge fairly quickly.
Thank you for giving me a stable point to jump off from Chosen, I think this channel and your twitch are one of the few stable predictable things in my life right now.
Nice thing is AE2 is also very nicely integrated in bees. Can make bees to generate all the crystals. Even the entro ones. Needs a bit of work since some of the bees need some breeding but nice way to have infinite passive generation of the stuff with needing to set up the entro budding crystal thingy and keeping it alive.
Don't know if It was already said in those 42:09 Minutes. But you also can use the Amethyst Golem from ars nouveau to harvesf from flawless certus quartz. Not that fast but some more magical.
There is usually a 256k no type limit storage drive that comes with an addon for AE2, I love to use that for my first.. Those "type" limits just annoy me, hence why I've always leaned towards Refined Storage. Until ATM 9, and AE2 having that storage drive addon + the fact that it also started to carry energy as well to the machines with a simple upgrade card.
I actually like the base/light AE style, but mainly because I like making my 'tech' areas bright and sterile. Contrast to magic areas which I prefer gritty and 'ruin-y' and dark mode.
One thing I never figured out is a sort of filtering that sends anything with NBT into sophisticated chests with a controller and anything without NBT to go into the discs. Would be nice to find a way to do that since I prefer to arrange my storage that way so discs don't get cluttered.
nice! definitely been some much needed improvements in ae2 over the last few versions. at least now i won't have to start my network by (ab)using creative mode to get the necessary bits 🙂 (i love ae2, but the early game grind is such a pain!)
When it comes to storage systems like AE2, I have always used refined storage. it just seems much simplier to use. But i want to get into AE2 because it looks fun.
For all those watching this and wanting to make life easier for yourself, pylons mod and creative flight potions...makes you fall immune, gives creative flight...absolutely op but make life easier especially for building.
In terms of drawer systems. Is it still best to just leave the essence in the drawer and just use a storage bus to the controller and set the priority higher to keep them in there to not fill the system?
That would be a better method, yes, drawers are significantly cheaper (timewise) to have many thousands of items in capacity; and with the controller it's made even easier
The only thing I would have changed is to use barrels and trap doors with a more mechanical texture than ordinary wood. But the little generator towers for certus add a nice little background animation.
ChosenArchitect, try for the fun to through, an 'eye of ender' from your skyblock house to the coust with the tower :D :P maybe you need a second eye, tou see whats happends (sorry if my english is not so good, as normal => Dyslecty)
You should look into a Wolds Vaults as a next play through, it a community made vault hunters pack with a lot more content than the original pack, and with everything going on atm in the community would be a good pack to play and watch, also know that you enjoy the mod😝
I like the default AE2 textures, but use Blackout for MEGA Cells related stuff. MEGA Cells is black, it has to be. It's made of freakin' SKY STEEL for crying out loud. Also when it comes to playing with AE2 I found that using the channelmode multipliers makes for a lot more fun experience. I've only tested with 4x, but I'm sure even 2x would be a lot more fun than default. It gives you a lot more breathing room while still eventually beholding you to the channel limit, letting you get the most out of the mod (imo). I never use infinite mode. Infinite mode sucks.
Hey chosen, I’d love to see you build Sath’s ME core (ae2 mega controller basically), KSAW made a tutorial video on it too, although it’s over kill for the amount of channels it has, it looks beautiful and I hope you like it too! :)
I like the lighter AE2 textures myself; it's funny how everything has to be dark mode these days because "too bright" or "blinding". When did you last see a paper document that was in dark mode? 😉
Oh, did they get rid of those Smart and Dense Cables and such from AE2? Because you're just using fluix cables which usually only transport energy, but not items or anything...
21:17 ae blackout texture looks waaaaaaay better. When I get back on Minecraft (I’m working on a mod so I’ve taken a break from playing) I’m definitely adding that resource pack. Thank you so much for finding it!
AE2 blackout is fantastic. As soon as I set up my first ME system in this pack I was tempted to just stop playing it and go back to an older version. Glad this exists to fix the terrible design choice they made.
