    I'm not associated in any way with Lenny Sly or Rogue Warriors. That being said, I signed up for the online training course and it's worth every penny! I've been training in aikido for years. This trainng has only made me better. I love it and highly recommend it! OUTSTANDING LENNY, KEEP IT UP!!!

    That explanation of triangle, circle square was never explained better Lenny. Uke's become a collection of energy and nage's at the wheel.

      THE ROGUE WARRIORS - Where Warriors are FORGED I would love to train with you if I get stateside you think along the same lines as me with regard to effectiveness of technique in the real world,otherwise someone will have false belief in their ability to defend themselves and get a very rude awakening someday.

    The martial arts community has gone totally out of it's mind!?! My greatest inspiration of all time was the book titled: Aikido and the dynamic sphere. The founder of Aikido was one of the greatest Japanese martial artists A master of: Ju-jitsu, Aiki-jitsu, Kenjitsu, Shotojitsu, Bojitsu, Tantojitsu, and Yawara. To study Aikido is to embrace the spirit of the samurai. Without samurai tradition, it's not authentic (as far as i'm concerned). I would practice my Aikido with intensity, as if I were preparing for ancient battle. Where is the honor and dignity in imposing one's size and strength in a publicly demeaning manner, on a padded floor crowded with people? I would find it more practical in adding realistic attack scenarios that would be properly handled by Aikido tactics: Defense against a wrestling takedown, defense against every possible chokehold, headlock,`boxing blows, Thai kicks, etc. You might as well say-If Aikido doesn't work, then being a Samurai doesn't work? My entire point for learning Aikido. Obviously, original martial art schools, and mma gyms are not the same thing. I loathe mma!!

      oh wow...i respect your statement but somehow all things change...evolved...hence, here we are, living in this world. But the fact that if a person selected to practice the traditional ways or means, will just be a matter of faith. Aikido is part of the so called art...martial arts category, so, it has its own characteristics that can be retain throughout the years and there will be a way that it will change anytime in this world. Just like a religion. One belief towards salvation but so in so many forms and practices. All the best! happy holidays 2022!!!

      Yes Aïkido is beautiful and great to practice. Though is see it more like a niche specialized martial art. Like English boxing is ultra specialized in punches or BJJ on the ground (bad at standing, bad in takedowns...though it improves fast those years)

    I like the footwork inherent in aikido's randori, the timing, the movement, the relaxation, but the techniques I find dubious for real self-defense. If you are facing multiple attackers, the risk of dying outweighs noble concerns. Move like that guy in the video while learning to strike instead of contrived "non-violent" grappling techniques!

    Sensei, I am not quite understanding Osae Nage. I fail to see the applicability against a larger attacker. Does the energy for the "throw" come from the weight of the Nage, or is it simply a hard angular chop to the uke's elbow? I fail to see.

      As best as I can tell, uke has to keep his arm connected to his center for the technique to work. When you strike/cut at my arm like that, what's to stop me from just absorbing the shot by relaxing/dropping my arm rather than allowing you to pick up my center and take me to the ground? Beware of relying too much on cooperative/choreographed training as a measure of your skills! Truly random attacks which better test your ability to respond spontaneously can be simulated while remaining within a reasonable envelope of safe training.

    do you have any videos explaining the concept of kokyu ho and kokyu nage and how to.... do it I guess. Have read and heard a lot of confusing, wishy washy woo woo type stuff but few get to the point and explain exactly whats going on...the principle of kokyu and the many variations of throws that come with a kokyu name attached to techniques....Ive seen HIrohito Saito demonstrating a very powerful kokyu nage for instance but it doesnt come with much explanation. All I was told was it means 'Breath throw'. Is it a principle or method that you can apply to the basics or is it a separate technique on its own or???.....Well, Im lost and am trying to find the answers myself. Have practiced aikido for a few years and it feels like 1 step forward and 2 or 3 back and I am TIRED of the all the love, peace and lets all be nice to everyone bs in teachings and dont practice aikido for philosophy lessons. ....because that won't get you out of a scrape and is more likely to get you hurt thinking any of the traditional stuff make make a shit of difference to a threatening situation, not that I plan to get into any but I also dont want to learn fluffy techniques that have no benefit besides distributing synovial fluid around and looking graceful. .Hogwash!!! .....sadly thats all I have access to. I watch your videos with a keen interest and have done for some time.

    • @mohammedhanif6780
      @mohammedhanif6780 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aa sou let me try. imagine kokyo nage as if you were the axis of a revolving door. attackers come in to you and get sent on with their own energy with you interacting with them minimally. breathe in when then attack and breathe our when you throw. never grab or take hold but time your interactions with them so that they cant help but be lead by you.
      another way is to inagine you are a whip where you store the attackers energy for a moment and then crack it out with added force.
      for it to work never look directly at the attacker or s3cobd guess yourself if it is working. all these momentary losses of attention with interfere with the smoothness of the exchange of momentum between you.

    No one can really understand how powerful is aikijujitsu system fighting warrior art buy seen yet with the eyes private class or watching a video but it’s almost the same thing. Aikido looks very pretty beautiful dance but you’re missing the whole point the only way to understand and to figure out yourself it is to practice and feel the pain how powerful is the art my experienced you people do you need to practice aikido class before you judge anything

    I wish people would understand the difference between training and demonstration vs street combat and UFC fighting. I mean, your kata 3 doesn't do jack in the streets either. It is a basis for understanding, first, how the movements effect you, then understanding how they impact your opponent. As for "compliant" students, 95% of that "compliance" is for self preservation. Many of these technique can destroy joint and connective tissues. If you like the brute strength arts, cool. Doesn't mean that no Aikido principals work. In most cases, you are not going up against a big, strong 100% resistant opponent. If you are they're a jackass bully and you are not very smart. In that case, you apply different principals to survive and evade. Not every conflict in real life is a UFC battle.
