    The Twins have a huge advantage because they do drywall and plumbing. Pest Control companies do not, and most people don't understand that. The Twins are A+

      @@CrAzYxBoBbY I wouldn’t say most do I would definitely say some but I believe it’s about 70% don’t do everything in house and 30% do I mean obviously depends on what area of the country your in too depending if you’re operating in a city or a small rural area (where your numbers come from on who does what), but a lot of companies don’t have the licensing to do all three they don’t have licensed plumbers or they dont the insurance to do that as well so what they’ll do is subcontract the extra work out even the Big pest control company Orkin subcontract some majority of the workout they don’t even do their camera and smoke test in house. They have a local vendor do them wherever they’re at . I’m in the HVAC and plumbing industry and I work with about three pest control companies for that exact reason but some companies have been around a while and our dedicated an got their licensing and insurance which is very commendable. Wish you the best.!!

      When you think about it it's quite smart to have people to do drywall and plumbing on your staff and even electrical. Most best companies just want to come out with a few traps and some putty.

    Years ago after Louisiana had its big 100 year flood in 2016 (entire neighborhoods with water up to the roof line) we got an entire family of big Norway rats in our home. The sewers all flooded and these rats fled into people's homes all over the surrounding area. One of the rats had the nerve to climb onto a plate of food that was on a side table next to my computer desk WHILE I was at the desk 2ft away. I jumped up and screamed and the rat ran back and forth under my desk and then ran into the bathroom and went under my sink. The first thing I did was seal up all of the sinks and drain areas with closed cell expanding foam and wire mesh, and left one area open where I placed traps. I tried glue traps and kill traps, and I caught a couple of them, but there were still more and they kept taking the bait, but not triggering the traps.
    So I bought the big plastic kill traps from the Homeless Despot and then modified them in the same way you did here using PVC pipe cut in half to make a hood over the bait portion of the trap, affixed with epoxy. I set the 4 traps out, and the next morning I had 4 dead rats. Rinse (literally, you want to wash the smell of dead rat off of your traps after each use) and repeat. Within 3 days I'd taken out 13 rats, the last of which was a MASSIVE pregnant mama, her head so big it barely fit into the trap. Her body alone, sans tail, was the length of my forearm. I think the reason it went so smoothly is because they'd been forced out of their habitat and were starving because they weren't used to foraging for food in a home. The rats must have come a long way because we used septic tanks, so our plumbing wasn't hooked up to any centralized system.

      i used to work at a dorm that got renovated. there were HUNDREDS of mice in the basement. i warned the owners, managers and contractors to make sure EVERY hole is sealed. of course since i was "a nobody," they didn't listen. as soon as the building was re-opened, the #1 problem was mice in the apartments because almost every penetration was left wide open

I seal up my room and dont come out lol, just cant deal with them buggers! But I definitely enjoy seeing y'all take'm out!!! Im like... Yassssss!!!! Every single time lmao!
    My husband has some pretty creative ways of getting rid of them as well lol... one of his fav tools is a golf club that he cut the club part off and welded a sharp knife too! He shoveled one in half once that was outside chasing our daughter! Roman noodle bag... took outside and stomped lol... oh how I love that man!
    We have our entry ways all sealed now again thankfully, so havent had any for a few years... but before that pipes froze and seals got broken in order to fix pipes so we had them getting in from under the house.

They cannot get into the house itself, it’s all blocked off but they are still in the walls. I went around and checked everything from your past videos and no entry at all. Spoke to neighbours and a few doors down has the issue mostly, so they are using the connected walls to get through.

    From what I understand, rats sense of smell can be better than dogs and that, if they get the human scent, chances are they won't go near the trap.
    I also understand that peanut butter is really smelly (more so than cheese) but I don't think that's enough to cover your scent.
    Do you rub your hands on something? Clean them? Anything to hide the scent. Or maybe I am wrong.

    I’m confused. Once the broken pipe was replaced, how are they still getting into that space?

    • @rprastein
      @rprastein 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They were already in the house. Fixing the pipe blocks their way out, which is the only reason the big, smart, adults actually go for the traps - they're HUNGRY.

    After seeing this video I walked around my house three times looking for possible holes rats could enter ! Thank God I found none! My sewer pipes are made of cast iron , the switch to plastic was a big mistake!

    • @geigertec5921
      @geigertec5921 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plastic is not edible so the chances of a rat eating through a plastic pipe vs. a metal one, which is also not edible, should be about the same.

    • @someguy9778
      @someguy9778 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uh...Rats chew the plastic to gain entry, has nothing to do with eating it.

    Great work, guys. It always feels great to find a big rat dead in one of your traps, and to trap them all out of a home where they've been causing humans great stress and discomfort. Thanks, and keep up your great work and helpful videos. Questions: (1) Why did you switch from the yellow hoodies with serrated teeth, to the black hoodies without teeth? (2) Where can I buy the yellow hoodies?

    • @TwinHomeExperts
      @TwinHomeExperts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a older video, we don’t use those black hoodies. We have perfected our entire rat trapping system/ accessories.
      Yes, we use the golden hoodies with the serrated teeth. We have our bait tuggers to add to the bait plate, this activates the traps FASTER and kills the big rats in the head vs neck.
      Email support@twinhomeexperts.com so I can get you set up.

      Thanks very much Dave and Jim, and crew, for videoing all your hard work and making it available for others to study online. Thanks for the offer of your plastic hoodies. I have further modified my own aluminum hoodies, and will think about trying your plastic ones in the future. Keep up the great work.
