6 years at where? those who don't know he is from IIT, he is into top 1% of Indian students, he had strong logical foundational concept of maths, physics, chemistry. yes you can learn coding but to be a professional programmer or developer you need a strong logical foundation and consistency

He has a degree in Mechanical engineering. And most of the subjects that are included in mech engineering ain't much relevant to programming, except a bit of mathematics. So stop being blinded and inconclusive when you hear the word IIT. The fact that he said it despite having graduated from IIT and worked so hard for 6 years he still Couldn't land a job of a mech engineer , only proves that you might still end up being jobless, despite having graduated from an IIT.

As a fellow geologist, of the same age, I also don't like classic geology although I can see its importance. My passion was always physics and because I'm after geophysics MSc I had to get better at programming. I feel like we can all learn to program but don't forget you can always use your coding skills for your geoscience-related work and combine your knowledge of both fields to be better as a scientist. I feel like these days those who can't code, will either learn by their own or be forced to do so in order to keep pace.

I had zero experience in IT when i start that task, even my boss said i just need to do simple dashboard without complicated coding but without realizing i feel enjoyment in coding and at the same time contemplating wether i should change my career. Similar stuff happened with me, In my 3rd year as a mechanical engineering student at IITM, I began to regret alot on taking mech instead of EE or CS in other IITs. So, I started pursuing career in data science which i liked a lot.

I will complete my BCA at the age of 20
Ignoring good for nothing syllabus I have strong grip on c++, MYSQL and python
And basic knowledge of c, vb.net, java, c#, and html css javascript and some other syllabus things
I'm so confuse what to do after that should I go for MCA? or get a job (placement is terrible so it's out of question) and if go for job I'm not even sure what I consider strong grip even matter in industry level, I never done any internship or any interview before so apply for college placement also very scary for me what should I do?

Without any doubt go for MCA if you can afford. Try to crack NIMCET get into a good NIT. If you are good at coding just enjoy your MCA course and build projects you will get a really good job after MCA. After BCA opportunities are very very limited and they won't give good salary at all. Stay away from service based companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro.

@@rishiyadav3033 I can't ask my parents to pay for my MCA after they paid for my BCA(financial condition is not bad I just feel wrong)
I tried freelancing in my 1st year but instantly understand it's not for newbi like me, although I did earn some money doing part-time jobs but it's not even close,
I know one thing entrace exam syllabus is more then my entire BCA syllabus so I can't afford doing BCA+JOB+preperation

At my 25s, family pressure, no fking degree, jobless, but I'm trying to build my career in programming. Sometimes I feel like I should give up on life. It feel like I'm at most critical position in my life, in a momentum, either I will make it or get crashed.

But guess what, whatever he learnt in his core branch course of engineering can be used to simulate all things in the computer.
He can simulate the things he studied in college.
Computers are used solve real life problems faster.
