Jagdtiger should have been the tier VIII TD anyway, with Ferdinand and Jagdpanther at tier VII, both using their real gun, the long 88mm.
Just like Tiger II should have been tier VII, Tiger I and Panther tier VI
I agree, this is basically the historical Jagdtiger configuration, the tier 9 in top configuration is fake.
thats because WoT in its inception was a "tuning" game as well.
You could have the historical configuration but then you unlock modules and make it better, like one of those racing games where you unlock better engines, tires, suspension, etc for your car.

@@racernatorde5318 The historical version used to be the middle ground. Not the best, not the worse, so you could have a more powerfull tank than historical if you invested the time. For example the stock gun on the tiger I (Tier 7) was the historical panther gun, while the middle gun was the actual tiger I gun and the top gun was the tiger II historical gun. You start as a worrse version than the historical, in the middle you got the actual historical and in the top an upgraded version, as if you "tuned" your gear. Pretty much standart tuning machines kinda of game.
Biggest problem if WG ever decide to downtier the jagdtiger and both tigers is that they will need to find new replacement for the tier 9 TD and tier 8 Heavy.
Down tiering E75 with to tier 8 with its current armor configuration gonna be insane even if it lose the 128mm gun.
Though down tiering jagde100 to tier 9 and introducing new tier X TD with 203mm gun can also be interesting. Or if they insane enough then maybe they can give 2 round autoloader version of jadgE100 17cm gun for the new tier X.
Getting slapped for 2k in the face within 5s would hurt a lot.

Armour would actually mean something like WG's marketing lies if speshul ammo was rebalanced/nerfed considerably that armour can return to historical values

It's not fault of this tank. The fault is of bunch of much better premium tanks that breaks any balance. It also fault of flying gold everywhere. I remember how I loved to play jagtiger IXt, and was great to playing hulldown, but after making gold ammo for credits it became big box with HP without armor...
Know the feeling...like kinda all german tanks' drivers know... :/
they really need to force a limit to the amount of skill rounds you can carry, and in turn make matchmaking +/- 1 tier, so you don't need to spam gold when you are bottom tier on a 2 tier spread game, to make a dent.. but hey, its their moneymaking model...pay to win...
The tier 9 jagdtiger is my favorite tank and its one of my best performing tanks with a 59% wr. This tank is basically that just a bit watered down so I dont think its bad.
Although i must add that episodes like this are almost equal to those epic "Funny Moments" series... :)

The Chi To SP is by far the best tank in the Japanese TD line and it is going to get nerfed, it is only a matter of time.
How on earth do you get this armor to work against tier 8 and above? Lack of gun traverse and agility makes it tough to angle >< Straight on it's still paper.

Yeah, because it belongs there. This tank was on supertest many years ago and WG cleared the dust out of it and put it on sale.
It already exit a year ago in asia server by black markets.

I love that you compare the tank to wargaming's description. The tank or tank line not meeting the playstyle expectations has been a big source of frustration.
Jagdtiger is late for about 4 years
more like stock JT with DPM and health at Tier 8 stock level.
For me tank i total fine
Average game time is like 5 minutes now. There's not place in the game for slow ones, like this one here. Not even talking about other cons...

In my oppinion wargaming lose the oportunity fron selling a very beatifull historical tank .
The jadgtiger was the heavy tank destroyer of ww2 and has the same gun of the maus the pack l44 128mm can destroy any tank of ww2 it was designed too destroy is 2 fron far even some people say can beat even the is3 there is a story 4 jadgtigers destroy an entire sherman batalion on battle. I my opinión wargaming shoud make a especial camo i love this tank

Wargaming in a Team training room getting people to bounce off the Jagdtiger Prototype to sell it as if it has armor KEKW. The only armor it has is the flat armor to the left and right of the gun and that's only 250 flat. It has 253 to 256mm effective armor... The upper plate is like 150 base. with 196 to 207mm effective armor. The upper plate of the hull is like 3mm better armored than the lower plate. In other words. Not worth. Tank is kinda poo unless you can hide your massive upper plate and show only the superstructure. Unlikely on 99% of maps
Honestly, this is like the best premium tank we had in 6-8 years. It's balanced, doesn't add anything broken to the game and is just essentially just a premium version of an already existing vehicle.
This is peak premium tank design.
And as usual people are just crying about it beeing bad (aka average) or about it beeing a copy paste.
What the hell happened to the WoT community that 250mm of hulldown armour at tier VIII are now a joke? Anyone with a brain can get alot of protection from that kind of armour with a decent position, angling and baiting shoots

Armour is flat, tank is very slow, no gd, gun is weaker than tech tree. It’s 2023 wake up.
@@richman2601No, I am dead serious. There is a huge overlap between people that cry about overpowered or broken premium tanks and those that play them as soon as they can.
I will always prefer vehicles like this one to Burrasque, Progetto, BZ and the likes. I find little pride and fun in playing these kind of vehicles too. But as long as people WANT to have overpowered vehicles in the game, WG will deliver
About the direct comparison with the other tier VIII german TD's: You have more armour than Ferdinand or JPII at the cost of a worse gun or worse mobility. It's something that makes this vehicles different and that's a good thing!
Besides, it not just another completely fictional tank
It good in a way that there is no more Bz-like tank running around random. But I think the mobility is slightly underpower. It should be the same as JagdTiger 8.8
It's healthier for the game, but no one wants to play a fair tank when everyone else is playing the bullshit tanks. It's like sitting down to play a bunch of card cheats at poker and deciding that you're going to play fair.

this is the most historically accurate version of the jagtiger, it shouldn’t even be name prototype. wg are even so lazy to the point whereby the tank’s dents and track mounting points of the tier IX are identical to the tier 8. it’s not even a reskin, just a literal copy paste thing with a stock gun. anyway the real life tank mounted the L55 12.8cm (short 128mm) and not the L66. (top gun of the tier IX) abit of history, the gun breach and recoil was deem too long and unrealistic. the tank’s super structure had to be reconstructed similar to the in-game JadgpzE100 to mount the L66.
TLDR: the Jagdtiger Pr should be renamed to “Jadgtiger” and the tier IX should be “Jagdtiger mit L66 or Jagdtiger Improved” but classic wg loves to confuse and screw up stuff.
Just one question...What sense tanks like this have?
Nothing special (=not OP), no new playstyle, no "wow-feature"...so WHY? o.O
This TD is created to hold weaker flank.
It has no DPM to do that, TS-5 or Turtle are made for this, this is a close range support for heavies, you sit behind your heavies and hope they get shot instead of you and enemies push instead of your team.

I'm disappointed with this tank. It's a worse version of the premium Japanese TD Ka-Ri.
The Japanese TD is much much better in almost every single way while having similar playstyle.
Get that one instead if youre a triangle enjoyer,
Personally I think it's worse than Jagd 8.8. There's just no comparison. 700 more DPM, faster in reverse, significantly worse terrain resistance and traverse, worse VR and overall gun handling/dispersion...all for that Jaga gun, which will mostly face T9 and 10. Meanwhile, Jagd 8.8 has pref MM.
I had to 1v1 a Jagd Proto earlier today and dominated him with the long 88. I'm all for balanced premium tanks, but 8.8 is way better.
IMO jg proto is very good, I've played 10 games so far with 3.3k dpg

Ah yes... WG in a nutshell. WG KNOW that the tier 9 is absolute garbage that they decided to put it in tier 8 as a lootbox fiasco item to make it "appealing". Those with a brain know as well as those who watched this video that, it's a literal copy paste tank brought down 1 tier.
Literal cashgrab tank as well as shafting the already underwhelming T9 tech tree tank is broad daylight yet again.
