  • Traveling to South Africa and hunting has always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, and this past season I was able to make that wish a reality as a couple buddies of mine (John "JC" Christopher and Brian Burkley) and I head to Sandstone Safaris in Limpopo, South Africa.
    The trip did not disappoint as we were able to tag 41 animals, mostly plains game, in 10 days of hunting and I was able to have one of the most rememberable days of bowhunting of my career as I downed 4 animals in one day over one waterhole, including a world class kudu.
    The trip ended on a high note with two HUGE Cape buffalo kills.

    I enjoy getting out to hunt animals around the region that I live in but I don’t think I could live with myself creating so much carnage in such a short amount of time in someone else’s back yard. I hope all of you can justify what you’re doing and be proud of yourself. God bless you all studs!

    • @7979Army
      @7979Army ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You definitely wouldn’t want to see the “carnage” the government paid us to do to bring down populations in one area. Think 923 animals in 14days from raccoons, opossums and culled 270 deer. Oh yeah and the deer weren’t allowed to be used in any form or fashion, they were taken to off to a dumb site. That was a lot of meat wasted that could’ve went to people in need. Seriously I highly doubt ya even hunt just by your wording. These guys have the money to take full advantage of a 10day trip.

    • @edwardpape5819
      @edwardpape5819 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnelkins4250 The "feeding the villagers" line is a myth. In other African (Safari destination) countries it may happen but in South Africa it [might] feed the client/hunters and maybe the camp staff, but the rest is processed and sold. Sometimes, depending on what is taken, the client won't even get to eat meat from his own trip. You can kill lots of animals in South Africa, but it's all put-and-take operations behind fences, and not really hunting.

    Awesome hunts and footage. One question: why are the animals not field dressed in the field?

    • @MyWorldOutdoorsYT
      @MyWorldOutdoorsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For 1, the animals innards are used and eaten (even the watched them taking grass out of stomachs to use the stomach and intestines as casings) and 2 when u open up the animals, you expose the internal cavities to the air and that’s when they start growing bacteria, the longer they can stay closed, the longer it can keep …

    • @medi0cregameplay193
      @medi0cregameplay193 ปีที่แล้ว

      in addition to what they said. Would YOU want to field dress and animal outside in Africa? scent doesnt take long to travel and you can never tell whats around you. Even lions as big as they are have a chance to literally be close enough to sniff your sweat covered balls and you wouldnt even know it

      Is one of the reasons you’re allowed to hunt these exotic” animals is for population control? Like hunting whitetails because there is less coyotes to control them since people these days are keeping predator population low because they find coyotes scary and such,which makes the herbivore population go up too much?

      The hunt itself is a lot cheaper than I would have ever thought, the real price is in getting things back and the travel to and from. But if you look up Sandstone Safaris, you can look up prices and packages they have. We're headed back in 2024 and counting down the days!

    Just have to ask guys is this trophy hunting or hunting for food? At this rate, is it really sustainable? Please advise in case I’m missing something.

    • @MyWorldOutdoorsYT
      @MyWorldOutdoorsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's both, we are targeting larger & mature males. And every ounce of meat is used and distributed locally. And yes, these herds are meticulously monitored for health and numbers. So overhunting isn't likely.

    We only hunt what we eat in New Zealand. Unless it’s the Rut you can select a Stag for trophy but even then there is usually conditions.
    This ain’t it (in my opinion) hopefully the meat went somewhere and you didn’t just take the head.

    To kill animals at waterholes are not fair every person or animal need water. Walk and hunt it in the open.

    First off I am an hunter. I have been to Africa 14 trips. Sitting at a water hole or food bin is NOT hunting. That should be banned in my opinion. I walk and spot and stalk and have many gold medal animals. I have taken five bush bucks walking four on my own with no PH. I have a full three turn Kudu and yes was walking when I got it in the bush. Anyone can kill animals at a waterhole or food bin. It is not right. I am 75 and bought my first rifle when I was 10 years old. I fill my freezer every year with deer and will till I die. Go hunting don;t go shooting.

    Impressionante, asquerosa e nojenta a covardia de determinados ricaços ao escolherem essa forma de divertimento. As autoridades, mundial, têm de se envergonhar por ainda permitirem que ricaços explorem essa atividade corrompendo países pobres de África.

      @joshhorn5131 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @tiaanvantonder9860 I know it isn't illegal but it doesn't seem right. It's not like it was a "meat" hunt. Shooting from the truck isn't hunting, it's killing. Just my opinion
