    Too many recordings and videos are not engineered so that we can hear the percussion. This video is fabulous because you can hear why Berlioz included the tambourine as he did! Thank you for posting this.

    Excellent! Some great challenges in this piece. I watched you do a thumb roll at rehearsal 5. That works, a bit more control that way.

      That's right Duane. I think a shake roll would be too much. I accent the start of the rolls and let it trail off. Thanks for your comment.

    It would be interesting if on one of these play/sit-through videos you mimicked your process in a first rehearsal of a 'new piece', ie marking in any cues and when, and how you observe what's happening at that time. Unless of course, these videos are what you do!

      Thanks for your comments. I present these demonstrations as if it were a concert situation to show my playing techniques and also to show young players how to behave on stage when not playing.
