I'm almost finished with my Spring Folk, I love it too and will definitely be stitching the others. Thank you for taking the time to make these floss tubes, I am really enjoying them and seeing all your beautiful work. You stitch many of the same things I love to stitch. I will be stitching Botanical Bee with you. If my IG account is private, will you be able to see if I post on the hashtag and tag you?
Thank you for watching! I'm glad to hear you are going to join in the Botanical Bee SAL. I think if you tag me I should be able to see it. I am pretty certain it will show up in my messages if I am tagged on a post, even if the profile is private. I guess we will have to test it out and see when the SAL starts! 😉
Chari, I binged all your floss tubes today 💛. I love your great orderly organization and excellent use of your camera. I love HOD also, and several others; and I have a little envy of all your projects. I’m only returning to CX after 40+ years away, and there are so many designers, fabrics, and flosses…. That I have already ordered many more charts than I will ever get done! I am very tempted by your SAL, I need to think about it. That is one of the HOD charts I did not preorder 🤣. I also watched Nichol and Cathy Wednesday evening, just so I can see the biscornu. I’m not working on it right now. I love how you jump in to change floss; I need more confidence and experience. Right now I’m best at following the designers instructions 🤦🏼♀️. I chuckled at your thanking us for taking time to watch you….I love watching, and am so happy when I find a new floss tube to watch. It is very relaxing and helps me fall down the rabbit hole of searching for new charts, fabrics, and fiber. Thank you for creating a wonderful flosstube for all of us. Peg💛
Thank you so much! I too have so many charts, more that I have time to stitch but I enjoy the hobby. I too once thought I needed to stick to the exact floss colors charted but with a little time I realized that it is my stitch and I can make it my own and use what I want. I am a perfectionist and wanted to do it right, but when you remember there really aren't any rules and no one grading your work, you feel a bit more free to change things. Thank you so much for watching my videos! ❤️❤️
@@charimoss I am really considering your SAL. I watched Nichol last night, and I’m going to continue watching / trying the biscornu. She also is going to do your SAL, so I definitely am leaning toward getting it. One more start should be ok 😬🤔. Peg 💛
Hi Chari This was my first time watching you but I have heard your name mentioned several times by Nichol Spohr😀 I have the Bee chart from HOD and may have a substitute fabric I can use in 32ct linen so I’m going to start the SAL with you and other friends stitching it too. Being mostly a home stitcher, I find SALs are very motivating to me to finish and then fully finish for displaying in my home. Your breakdown of Botanical Bee is very doable for me so can’t wait for May 1st to get a needle to fabric🧵🪡. Loved all your finishes and your WIP biscornu patterns you’ve stitched so far. I’m doing a Spring pattern for my first biscornu with Nichol’s group on 36ct fabric, a new challenge for me!😄 Have a blessed week 23:13 and happy stitching!
Welcome! Yes Nichol mentions me often, we text often and influence each other. I love Nichol! So glad to hear you are joining all the SALs. I agree, a SAL is a great way to stay motivated! You are going to love making a biscornu. I made a stack of three and they were so fun! It's fun to have a different finish to display. Thank you so much for watching!
Excited for this SAL! I need to find fabric for it. I agree about the 1+1on the sheep friendship stitch. I also won't be putting that in. I like your idea of maybe adding hearts. Your finishes are beautiful! Have great week!
Thanks for tagging me sis! And if you haven’t gotten a chance to hop over and watch the “Cross Stitch Quiz” video, please follow the link in Chari’s description. 😜
Great projects! Can you share more how you did the magnets on the Spring folk Paddle? Or if there is another place to find the info that would be great.
I do have footage of a different project that uses magnets that I need to edit together soon. I will try and explain how I did it for Spring Folk. There are two magnets on the back of the board and two magnets that I glued in between my front stitched piece mounted to a board and my back fabric mounted to a board. So I sandwiched the magnets between my stitch and the yellow fabric piece. The ones on the back are not glued down so if I pull the front piece off they will fall. I did this on purpose so that as I do the other seasons I do not have to worry about the magnets being in the exact spot to be straight on the board (hopefully that makes sense). You can glue the back ones on too, which is what I did for my other project. I use Rare Earth or Neodymium Magnets. They are strong and will hold through the wood board to the magnet on the other side.
Love all your stitches. Could you share what type/kind of floss you are using for your sheep? That looks so good and it would make them more special in the stitch. I would like to give that a try. Thank you.
Thank You! For my sheep, I am using Rainbow Gallery Wisper W89 Ecru. I am using one strand of this fuzzy floss and one strand of whatever is called for on the pattern for the sheep (not every sheep is the exact same DMC). It's kind of fussy to work with but at this point with 8 sheep down, I am going to power on. 🤣
Enjoyed your very informative Flosstubes. Love seeing your stitching progress. HOD Spring Folk is awesome! My patterns arrive next week. I will be using linen from my stash. You are such a fast stitcher. Do you use a hoop? If yes, which one? I ordered the mat board rounds today & it says you will need two discs per chart so I picked up 2 packs of each. How much extra fabric did you allow for finishing Spring Folk? TFS.
Thank you so much! I do use a hoop, it is just a bamboo hoop from Michael's I have quite a few of them in different sizes. I have never looked into a nicer hoop but perhaps I should. I think you would only need two rounds per chart if you were finishing the back too as an ornament. If you are putting it on a board or something I think you would only need one. For the Spring Folk I gave myself a 1/4" margin on each side of the stitch and then I try to leave at least 1" in addition to that to wrap around the back of the board.
🦉Such fun projects you’re working on. Thx for sharing. I enjoyed watching your video and I will definitely return again for another visit. Following * 🤗🛎️💕
Not cross stitch related, I noticed your sweatshirt and I’m so sorry they lost in the tournament. My husband went to Purdue, but he knows I always root for the underdog. I wanted NC State to win so bad!!
Oh Thank You! Yes it was an unfortunate loss however it was an exciting tournament run. Us Wolfpackers seem to be the underdog a lot but as we saw this year, never underestimate the underdog! Wolfpack fans are loyal regardless of the wins. ❤️🐺❤️🐺❤️
