Nausicaa is one of Studio Ghibli's best masterpieces. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind they'll continue to inspire us to overcome our limits enjoy what this world has to offer.
One of the biggest influences on my art and storytelling. I've seen nothing before or after that has matched Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind in its themes, worldbuilding and characters. Truly lightning in a bottle.
One of my favorite movies of all time 😊 most likely saw it as a kid in the 80s because i grew up thinking I had dreamt it. Wasn't until I saw an advertisement in a magazine promoting its upcoming release on DVD I knew I had found what I had been looking for and it's safe to say I lost my mind. Now 43 I'm married with 2 kids one 13 other 16 and along with my wife we love Studio Ghibli movies and have been to the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo. Nausicaa will always have a special place in my heart I still love watching it every chance I can.
I will always love this film. This and Mononoke hold special places in my heart, always. There was just so much depth and the fact that there's a manga with even more of the story... it's amazing work.
The first Ghibli film I saw when I was a little girl- Nausicaa shaped the way I saw myself as a girl/female, and I’ve lived a fearless life thanks to her courage ❤
By far my favourite movie of all time. Unfortunately I first saw it as the butchered version Warriors of the wind when I was a child. Absolute masterpiece and I'm glad they released the correct version.
Me too. Though Im grateful Warriors of the Wind and Robotech eventually led me to Nausicaa and Miyazaki's other masterpieces. This film is one of my favorites of all time.
I still really hope they make a trilogy or a series based on the manga. That manga is so rare to get it and read it, but it's probably the best manga out there, so deep the story, many characters, the setting is epic and so much more stuff than the movie.
Yes actually Manga has a very different complicated story, but I like it better. Movie is a bit simple. I read them all in English version borrowed from a local library in AU. I'm Japanese and I think English translation was straight forward, so was great.
Hideaki Anno (Evangelion, Shin Godzilla) wants to do a new Nausicaä movie and has permission from Hayao Miyazaki as long as it's animated. And it's rumoured Miyazaki's next film is a sequel to Nausicaä. But whether it's a sequel or a reboot is still being speculated, and if it will be animated or live action. Takashi Yamazaki (Godzilla Minus One) also wants to do a live action Nausicaä movie but he keeps getting refused.
Yes, the manga IS amazing. Miyazaki himself isn't really satisfied with the anime because he thinks the environmentalist message is not enough. The manga explores more important topics of the world of Nausicaä, especially the different ways how people cope with the world. Definitely worth the buy.
Definitely! I got the hardback collection, and it's worth every penny. Its what inspired me to take up nature conservation l. I make sure to read it at least once a year.
This was my childhood. I know Hayao Miyazaki films have risen in popularity recently, but there really isn't a way to replicate the dreamlike stories Miyazaki made, and rediscovering them once you've gotten older.
From the academy award winning director, Hayao Miyazaki. We present Nausicaä, of the valley of the wind, the movie that made him an award winning director.
This is one of my favorite anime movies of all times. Interesting fact: when this movie came out back around the 1980's, it was called Nausicca Valley of the Wind. Also, there was a rerelease of this movie which had some top notch hollywood actors and actresses like Uma Thurman.
@@deadturret4049 Indeed. But Lupin III wouldn’t have gotten a mass audience in Japan had Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki not sanitized it. In the original manga, Lupin III is actually a rapist.
There already is an english version, so why is there an offical trailer? Plus, does anyone else notice that the animation and voices in this trailor is a little off from the original dvd movie? I only noticed this because ive seen this move like 10+ times, and i recently watched it like a week ago. Am i going crazy?
I am suspecting GKIDS may have their own re-release of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Disney had distribution rights and released DVD/Blu-rays of it a decade or so ago under the John Lassiter years, but they have since lost United States distribution rights to GKIDS. I have the Disney distributed Blu-Ray, and I can tell you the animation does not look quite as clean as it does in this trailer. So maybe we are not only getting a re-release, but a re-master as well??
Heard Tress McNeil there. Voice of Gadget in Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Babs Bunny in Tiny Toon Adventures, Dot in Animaniacs and current voice of Daisy Duck.
I absolutely Loved this movie as a little kid its still one of my favorites, I even got the cute little sand squirrel plushie. The version I saw as a kid was the English version, so I'm slightly confused as to why this trailer was posted???

They just released their last movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the one that made this film :c
It was actually no Ghibli production. This film made it possible to create the studio in the first place.
one of my absolute favorite films of all time. seeing this during its run via ghiblifest was such an experience.
Yes it was, all of them were
This sucked compared to the manga
It’s also my most favorite movie 🥹🫶🏻

I just saw this Monday ! This was amaaaaazing. 40 years ago ? Holds up so well
The first Ghibli film I saw when I was a little girl- Nausicaa shaped the way I saw myself as a girl/female, and I’ve lived a fearless life thanks to her courage ❤
The video transfer on this Blu-Ray is fabulous.
Forty years ago, when there was no computer graphics yet, I saw this film in a movie theater when I was in high school and was truly moved by it.
By far my favourite movie of all time. Unfortunately I first saw it as the butchered version Warriors of the wind when I was a child. Absolute masterpiece and I'm glad they released the correct version.

My favorite Ghibli movie and also one of my favorite Sci-fi movies of all time. I really like the sea of decay.
The music too just tops it all off, such amazing worldbuilding!
First saw this when it was released as "Warriors of the wind" back in the 80s..and I loved it then and love it now. One of my top favorite films.

His philosophy has always been "stop hassling me about it. I did the film and now I'm done."
The manga WAS incredible though.

Technically, this is a studio ghibli film before studio ghibli was founded. Also, Hayao Miyazaki first original film and second feature film.
But Studio Ghibli owns the rights, it started the studio, so it was retroactively added to the Studio Ghibli filmography.
the first was Castle of Cagliostro, right?
The manga for this is amazing and is definitely worth checking out if you liked the movie! Really expands on the world and everything else.
Yes I need the manga

The manga is so much better than this movie. I was super disappointed about the movie.
予告なのかカッコイイ
何回も見てるのに見たくなる

I watched Nausicaä for the first time just last month. It's a beautiful movie.
One of my kids favorite films! Ages 5, 9 and 11
My number one favorite movie of the Studio Ghibli franchise🥲
Oh yeah!! I so adore this, as how I do with the other Studio Ghibli masterpieces!!!
My favorite ghibli movie ever! I love it so much ❤
This is my fave movie of all time

Fun fact, if you look at the maps you can find online, Nausicaa takes place in the Crimean peninsula.
That’s bittersweet too!
One of the best animated movies ever.
Great trailer for a great film. Can't agree with that first quote though. The director's first masterpiece is Castle of Cagliostro.
Love it, the new dubbing was really good, love the original and subtitles though, sounds the best in Japanese imo
My all-time favorite film from Miyazaki and the startup of Studio Ghibli😢😢😢😢
Just watched for the first time. Astounding work of cinema, simply stunning.
Just watched the subbed version in the theatre with my girl for the first time, def enjoyed it
I can't wait for 1984. Next year, when this movie drops, is gonna be crazy
Well, 2024 is already literally 1984 /j
Awesome NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND Official English Trailer.
Basically started it all! ❤
The best movie with a deep meaning
Thi Movie was my 1st, when i was 6 or 7 (on my 80's). 👏👏👏👏👏
Such a great anime, one of my favorites.
Nausicaa is not Miyazaki's first masterpiece. It was Castle of Cagliostro, which is one of the best action animes ever.
and ironically one of the worst Lupin films. I love Cagliostro but man it is so sanitized compared to rest of the Lupin III series.
@@deadturret4049 Indeed. But Lupin III wouldn’t have gotten a mass audience in Japan had Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki not sanitized it. In the original manga, Lupin III is actually a rapist.
Hidden masterpiece Souzi Yamakawa anie Syounenkeniya (少年ケニヤ) 1984 action-adventure anie
I love this movie, probably my favourite of the Ghibli movies.😁
My mother loves this movie.
😃 love this anime when i was a kid still do, the best.
From warriors of the wind love nausicaa of the valley of the wind by Miyazaki
I love the beginning music 🎶 such a vibe this video is amazing
40 years late is better than never I guess.
So is it being digitally re-remastered? The end of the trailer provided no update 🤔
I think GKIDS has just been slowly putting out new HD trailers for all the ghibli films using their own remasters
I literally love this movie and the soundtrack plus I still want her glider

My childhood, so nostalgic.
After this summer and the showcase in theaters...I am about to own all these DVDs from Ghibli....
I am suspecting GKIDS may have their own re-release of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The picture looks better, but the audio is a bit better on the Disney Blu-ray.
you may be correct. I currently have the GKIDS bluray steelbook version
Im pretty sure that GKIDS already has their own remastered version for their blu-ray release, which I assume is what this trailer uses
such a good movie
Why are you posting this trailer now tho is this a remaster or something
Great movie
What track starts playing at around 1:08?

Already 350.000 likes one hour after upload. YEAH. 😎
This anime is the answer to Dune

@iamfishmind agreed, I'm honestly surprised that more people *aren't* confused.
Is this a new version? Im confused, can someone explain.
