Can't believe how fast your aeoniums are growing! I have one indoors that has hardly grown in 8 months. So cool to see, wish I lived somewhere I could keep succulents outdoors all year.
Sadly for 90%+ of the US and world for that matter, aeoniums can only be grown indoors without a lot of effort and weather interventions. They are native to the canary islands which the only other place outside of the Med. that has a similar climate is San Diego, CA, and south through Baja Cali. even in AU and South Korea, they have to be grown outdoors with protective measures whereas in the Med and southern Cali they are everywhere outside. they basically just need to be put in the ground and left alone in those places. They don't like temps above 80 or below about 45 they also like relatively high humidity. So yeah they are tricky to plant in the ground, Unfortunately. I learned all of this the hardway because i had them in my garden in San Diego prior to moving to Austin where they many died even in early spring because the temp randomly decided to spike up to 94 one day.
@@sdsucculents5143 thanks for sharing your knowledge, I'm in Norway so I believe summer would be ok outdoors when I look at the temps you mention, but winter is the challenge, and they would have to move indoors so they don't freeze

Thank you so much for the information that helps me understand now why my aeoniums behave differently during winter and summer. They have beautiful yellow flowers that formed like a cone.

Thank you so much for this video!! I have some aeoniums but I really struggle with them indoors. After seeing this episode I will try out some other things with them and see how they respond. I have strong grow lights and they are now in active state (perhaps not that actively growing😂) but I think it gets too hot for them and they dry up too fast. Will try a soil that retains more water and also try to find a cooler position for them. Well I have nothing to loose cause they a not happy at the moment😅. That’s a lot!

Do you know the best way to propagate the Sun burst? Is it considered variegated? Is the kiwi considered variegated? Also do you have a video on your Echeveria talk that was mentioned?
there are normal kiwis and variegated versions
and i think just headchops in general is better for aeoniums
Sorry for the late reply, and yes I agree with Kk_peachy about head chops being better. Also yes, the Kiwi and Sunburst are variegated forms of certain species. Kiwi = variegated Aeonium haworthii, and Sunburst = variegated Aeonium davidbramwellii.

Can I grow aeoniums in the Philippines? From september to January is our taglamig or in english winter time. On a average day in these months its just 25°- 27°c but in summertime the temperature could go up to 33°c. Will it survive and just go dormant in summer or I will say bye bye when summertime hits??
Does this mean I cannot grow them in Florida? 😭💔
You can, just be more careful about your watering when they are dormant.
