I completely, completely agree. It actually saddens me that more people don't seek out deeper music. Pop today is ridiculous. And you can see the effects it has on youth.
I'm 17, and have been listening to various experimental genres of electronic music for a few years now, and I often look at my peers with contempt.

Children really are the future. The older generations will die, but their thoughts will be left with the younger generations. Teach your children to seek knowledge, spirituality, to reach out and find out the truth in everything. To love and be kind. This way the world can change. Maybe not totally and quickly, but it can. One mind changed is a sign of a world that has already been changing.

@Kubiszewski21 well, it's PENCHANT .. and it comes from a 1959 movie "Anatomy of the murder" from the sentence:
Mr. Paquette, what would you call a man with an insatiable penchant for women?

  • @siraantomlinson6875

Represent man, I feel you! You should check out the american/russian duo Koan if you're into experimental electronic stuff, also Androcell, Entheogenic, Zero Cult, Hol Baumann, also Blutech (AKA Evan Bartholomew) is pretty awesome. All are awesome, but definitely check out the track Flying Cities by Koan, one of my favourites. Also a random one hit wonder track is Ekologic's - Endless Ascension which you should watch the custom video clip that goes with it.
    Hope you enjoy bro!

@remcycle: You are right - people live in ignorance, and they are often amazed what omitted them. They listen to what is given to them, instead of looking for something to listen to. Bring music to them!

Dude respect every genre. Music is an amazing thing, and it can be whatever you want and even need it to be. If theres a genre you dont like fair enough but dont sneer at people. I love this stuff but my main genre is 90's gangsta rap. I find them both to be deep and meaningful to me and I love both.
You never know, these people you have so much contempt for could have more in common with you than you think

pop music isnt the culprit, people are responsible of their inaction or stupid actions, when people are empty inside,or when they are full of fear and decide not to cope with their inner thoughts and demons, indeed they will never try to go after deep sounds music has a healing power for tortured souls only if the spirit is in control, otherwise it can be very destructive and pathetic like you stated. youth of the 21st century are blessed cos they can have access to gems from the past and present

My little cousin was born a little over a year ago now, and ive been observing everything my family puts him around and I almost hate to watch it cause I cant help thinking how a great bit of it is just horribly misleading and all around just shallow. It sucks even more because you see these sassy little kids taking over the majority of whats next for them to watch also. Id love to have my kids around this, if its not just the raw energy of vibration the few words they have is always open minded

that contempt can also be misconstrued as pompous. Keep in mind pop music is the way it is not because it is corrosive of culture, but because it is reflective of it. Modern music trends (pop and it's sub-genres) are in no way... unique or enlightening, but it's as harmless as looking at a picture. The biggest corruption of modern youth comes from society's sensationalizing of ignorance and decrying intellect as 'stupid' more or less.

thanks - a great track, except for that snare drum.....maybe a "rim shot" next time? edit it with that, post it and i'll pay for it on iTunes etc, peter. ps coz if you're after ambient? which you normally do - a fucking drum making my ears bleed isn't what i want in "ambient".
