    Absolutely brilliant how you expose and record all this stuff! So many cool and beautiful items in this place and it’s a shame it may all go to trash one day. Glad you captured it all! Thanks for your efforts and taking us all on your adventure! Really enjoyed the wind howling through the rafters! Added to the mystique!

      Hey Nack, this was a real tricky one to film, the place was crazy full, ive never seen anywhere quite like it. I wonder if his parents were also hoarders and he just added to their already full house?

  • @patsaunders525

    OMG I hope before the take the place down they go inside and bring some of the treasures out; I almost had a heart attack when you banged on the large glass tulip shaped hand blown object in the attic. I've seen one before but can't remember right now; I will most likely remember when I'm in bed. Thanks for the adventure.

      Hey Chrissy, i had no idea what the inside of this house was going to be like until i stepped inside. . . . . . .Wow i wasnt expecting that, it was chaos and no floor to be seen in the whole place. It was interesting to see the antique furniture underneath everything, im guessing that it was his grandparents furniture because of the age of it. I wonder if his parents were hoarders too? Ive never seen a place so full, great fun trying to keep the camera still though:) Thanks for watching

    What a great explore, the whole thing was wild, like a bizarre cabinet of curiosities. I think the house contained generations of inherited furniture, books and china, with a hoarder as the last inhabitant. Those books should be saved, they could be rare, as possibly others in the glass fronted bookcase. It's all so original, with wonderful antiques buried in there and the demand for vintage garage stuff makes me wonder why somebody hasn't persuaded the owner to do a pick through. At least this stuff would get a second life with an appreciative owner instead of rotting into the ground.

    • @stare6711
      @stare6711  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kim, well said, it would be great if someone could come in and save all the collectable stuff before it gets trashed forever. Your could almost see the original rooms with the nice furniture that maybe his grandparents owned just sitting there in amongst the hoard. . . . Crazy place:) Thanks for watching

    It's really sad to see all that old furniture left to rot, it's such a waste. The worst, was the house you went to that was literally falling down (the one where you couldn't get to the top floor because the staircase had collapsed). The furniture was amazing. When you first entered the home it looks like there use to be more to the home like black suite on wall wonder if a fire happened destroyed half the home and they literally threw it all in the home. Can see clearly a man and woman lived here a looping time odd no family photos laying around anywhere or in the walls which makes me believe people trashed it as well but the amount of rust and dust on those things say they been there in same spot at least 20 years or more. That's a HUGE HOME Thanks for sharing

    I don’t think it is fair to assume that ‘hoarders’ lived there, and the the place was like that when they left or more likely died. In 70 years there have probably been many squatters, vandals and wreckers in and out of the place. A lot of the stuff may have been dumped in there from storage in outhouses, garages etc. If the last surviving one of the couple died there and had no family their clothes and personal possessions would have been left there. I suspect others have trashed the place when finding it empty.
    Perhaps try to find out who lived there and what happened to them before passing judgement. Elderly disabled people still have their pride but find it physically impossible to do the cleaning and maintenance required or even to feed themselves properly. Difficult to get any help then and it still is now.

      I have elderly neighbors in rural Michigan whose places look like this and have looked like this before from their parents stuff. Hoarding is a mental health disorder with no cure from what I've researched about it. But you are correct about others dumping if abandoned and the lack of help elderly, especially rural, receive with regards to assistance cleaning, etc.

    @sarahstrong7174 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont think it will have in quite this state while someone was living there, thats clear from things like the armchair being upside down. I think it has been turned over. Before that it may have had stuff stacked with narrow ways between or it may have been nicer.. People who do not get rid of things, often, are very severely traumatised. In this case I think the person has at some stage in their life gone hungry. Severe trauma has physical affects on the brain. It shrinks the parts of the brain that deal with things like memory, planning & decision making & so makes it almost impossible to organise your belongings & decide what to get rid of. It paralysis your attempts to sort things out. Additionally I think this place has been used for storage for items from elsewhere since it was unoccupied. The junk yard probably continued to operate for some time after the house was unoccupied. You can see things set up as it was when someone lived there but once the occupant was gone the house has just been used as an extension of the junk yard & stuff piled in. Even extreme hoarders usually have a bed & chair that are usable.
    Thankyou for sharing.

    Why don’t y’all take the things that are valuable or just somethings that y’all would like? The house is just going to fall in and then everything will be lost. Thanks

      Hi Nadene, its just not worth taking anything out of these places as if your caught by the police it would be classed as burglery which is a serious offence. I totally see what you mean though as its just such a waste seeing collectable things just getting trashed. Thanks for watching

    I really dislike the way you move items from their original position & leave them in disarray like “The Book Of Beauty” for example..this book is a treasure & the very least you could do is leave it as you found it..you wonder how these homes get trashed, this is exactly how they end up the way they do..I really have enjoyed your channel to date but the way you handle previous items makes my blood boil.

      Hi Sally, in my earlier videos I found it easier to put things back in their original place after filming as it’s sometimes difficult when you have a camera in one hand and a light in the other. Others like yourself would prefer to see the item put back whilst filming which is what I have been doing on more recent videos:) Thanks for your comment
