All other points may not be true in the 1st article, but dichotomy of global rise and relative decline in neighborhood seems to be right. Sir's argument of global rise complementing regional rise may not always be true. The best example is China. Although globally rising, its regional influence is based on coercion and lure of money. Such a diplomacy India being a responsible nation cannot follow.
Q. In the context of geopolitics of Asia, India needs to balance its regional and global presence. Discuss.
Ans. India’s multidimensional foreign policy strives to ensure a peaceful environment while carving out a strategic space and autonomy for itself. This necessitates good relations with the major powers as well as the neighbours.
Instances of India's global presence :
1. Active participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations through the Indian Armed Forces.
2. India strongly embodies the principle of multilateralism which was prominently witnessed when it pitched for the inclusion of African Union in G20.
However, its proximity to the major global hotspots, the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea, makes it a crucial player in the regional geopolitics as well. The rising influence of China has put India in an unfavourable position. However, with its Neighbourhood First Policy and Act East Policy, India hopes to strengthen its relationship with its neighbours as well as the countries of Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific.
Besides India needs to focus on its continental neighbourhood as well. It has tried to balance its policy in the West Asia region to prioritize energy security and accelerate economic ties. India will continue to be susceptible to the range of intra-regional conflicts that will test its ability to protect its interests. Also, the Chabahar Port would offer access to the resource-rich Central Asia and an entry point for its efforts in Afghanistan.
A country that is able to maintain primacy in its periphery will be always be able to be a pivotal power in international politics. India's soft power will enable it to its ambition to assert itself in this regard.

India, as a major power in Asia, faces the challenge of balancing its regional and global presence in the context of geopolitics.
Body:
1. Regional Presence:
- Strengthening regional alliances: India needs to foster closer ties with neighboring countries and regional organizations to enhance its influence in the region. For example, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
- Economic integration: India should actively participate in regional economic initiatives, such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), to expand its economic footprint and deepen economic interdependencies.
- Addressing security challenges: India must actively engage in regional security mechanisms, like the Quad (comprising India, the US, Japan, and Australia), to address common security challenges and maintain stability in the region.
2. Global Presence:
- Strengthening multilateral engagement: India should actively participate in global multilateral forums like the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) to shape global norms and policies.
- Soft power diplomacy: India's cultural richness and soft power assets, such as Bollywood and yoga, can be leveraged to enhance its global influence and attract international support.
- Climate change leadership: India can play a pivotal role in global climate change negotiations and initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and garnering international goodwill.
3. Balancing Act:
- Non-alignment approach: India should maintain its traditional policy of non-alignment while engaging with both regional and global powers, ensuring it does not get drawn into any exclusive alliances.
- Strategic autonomy: India should pursue an independent foreign policy that safeguards its national interests, without being overly dependent on any single power.
- Diplomatic agility: India needs to navigate power rivalries and conflicts in the region while maintaining cordial relations with all stakeholders, ensuring it does not antagonize any one country.
Conclusion:
To balance its regional and global presence, India must strengthen its regional alliances, actively engage in global forums, and pursue an independent foreign policy. By doing so, India can safeguard its interests, maintain stability in the region, enhance its global influence, and contribute to global problem-solving. Going forward, India should continue to prioritize diplomacy, strategic autonomy, and active engagement to effectively manage its geopolitical challenges.

-- in the context to geopolitics of asia, india has seem to losing it's hegemony as we see all neighbouring countries almost inclining towards the china, and it will definitely effect india, may be not now but in future, india need to bring all his neighbour inclined towards india, so it can also help to grow india faster and as superpower,
When we talk about the geopolitics the foreign ministry failed to hold control over the neighbour but it is a paradox situation that in regional context we are losing but in the international context we are emerging as independent superpower, it seems like when we continously on the same path so therefore in the long run india will directly compete USA, and it regional influence get automatically inclined toward India..
