He had to break up with her because if he did not, Annette would be exposed by Kathryn for losing her virginity to Sebastian!

Sebastian was genuinely worried not about his reputation but Annette's instead. He knew that if he continued to see Annette, Annette would be exposed as a hypocrite because she lost her virginity to him. However he later realized that exposing that fact publicly would not matter because they both loved each other

This scene was the hardest to shoot because obviously being engaged in real life, this break up scene really made them feel bad, in fact Reese gave him a real fist which wasn't in the script, the director loved It and remained It, Ryan After threw up. They were together for almost 1 year before filming the movie. Make a movie like this with your real partner really must be emotional but at the same time painful, but a beautiful experience
