    I’m glad you posted this video. I am shopping for a lift kit for my JL overland build. Trying to find a lift that is more geared towards weight carrying capacity as opposed to max articulation is frustrating. I have never heard of Clayton Offroad and will certainly check them out. USA made is also important to me.

    Thank you for posting this! It looks very capable, from what I’ve seen in your other videos.
    I don’t currently own a Wrangler, but will be getting one next summer. I’m doing my research now about what lift to install. I hunt, camp, and love the idea of exploring all the trails I can get onto. This video gives me something to think about because I’ve been thinking about going with a 2.5” lift and running 35” tires. I don’t expect to go with a roof tent, since I’ll be alone and my buddies have their 4Runners and Tacomas, so a ground tent or sleeping inside the Jeep would work for me. From your experience, would you recommend I go with what I was planning or to go with 3.5” lift and 37” tires? I’m trying to take everything into consideration, including center of gravity, fuel consumption, etc.
    Thanks again for posting this video. Very informative and well-done.

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      2.5 inches and 35s make a very capable rig. And you can get by without having to do a lot of other upgrades like gears, steering and brakes. I am running 5:13 gears, have upgraded the steering and brakes are coming shortly. 37's do make a big difference over 34 or 35 inche tires. The question to you is how capable do you want to be and what are you willing to change to get there. We really like being able to go where ever we want with in reason and be confident enough to be able to get back out. Not sure that I answered your question. I would recommend watching the difference between the red Jeep which is on 34's and the orange one In the Mountain Springs video. I hope this helps and if you decide 2.5 or 3.5, Clayton has a kit for you.

  • @justinm.791
    @justinm.791 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your Jeep is an absolute beast...have you ever used Fox 2.0 shocks? From what I've read the valving is a bit firmer.
    Consider the rooftop tent and the leverage it's generating, they may make a difference... not that your Jeep exhibits any bad traits.

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, we have considered for shocks. Since this video, we have also added a stiffer rear swaybar which settled the side to side sway dramatically

  • @ES-lh1tj
    @ES-lh1tj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I run Clayton's long arm kit. It rocks! Looking at your front end in the video, for your next upgrade, I highly advise a front track bar bracket for your track bar and a drag link flip kit - especially with a 3.5" lift and 37's. It'll really help your drag link and track bar angles which look a little steep....The Jeep will steer and handle way better and you'll be happy:) Love you guys!
