B.A.S...? What happened with RecycleSil? That was, by far, the best Silica supplement (99% Biogenic Silica) I've ever used, by a large margin, and I was purchasing it from your company. Now it's like it never existed, as every other type of Silica was mentioned in the video, but not The best you've had..?
I actually ordered some from Sio-Tex, who produces it, last time. It cost me more than you charged, but it's so incredible and requires so little, I didn't have a problem with the price.
What happened to this great product you distributed, and maybe still do, but since you didn't mention it at all when talking about Silica products, I'm guessing you don't distribute this greatest Silica I've ever found?
Love you guys and all you offer that others often don't have. You're one of a kind, in this Sea of products out there. Always great advice, as well!
    What happened with RecycleSil?👍💯✌️
Edit: A year later now, and I see Sio-Tex, who created and sold this product, isn't in business anymore..?! Possibly because it was around for almost a decade with little advertisement.
I think word got around when BAS customers had incredible results..?! Stems never wider than a Sharpie pen, were suddenly the diameter of an industrial broomstick! Biggest difference I've had with one product!
Now, I've tried a few different Silicic Acid products. The expensive, 0.5ml/gallon rate, "top of the line" products, and VPS Structure, a Colloidal Silica.
None of these have come close to RecycleSil. And it was around $30/lb, 1/8 tsp per gallon of water. It was 99% Biogenic Silica, which must be different from Amorphous Silica, like in DE Silica, which wasn't noticable, at all.
Too bad you guys/someone else, couldn't get this recycled Rice Hull's technology to create this incredible product that otherwise goes to waste..?! I'd pay double the price for that! Just an incredible product, and from a waste product.
I'm going to try some Montana Grow, and see how it goes. I'm hoping for great outcomes. Better than Silicic Acid (Ortho/Mono. Same thing). RecycleSil really set the bar high!
My dream is that you'll be able to get this tech that's no longer being used (maybe for a great deal..?!), as it seems they're marketing was terrible.
No response ever from you..?! Maybe you are working on this at BAS..?! Seems simple, and exactly what you stand for! But maybe there were other problems with this "Super Silica". Or in taking over from the manufacturer..?!
Forgive my rambling, please! Id love to hear what you know about it's sad demise, and if you looked into "taking this tech off their hands", etc..?! The only BAS mystery I've never heard anything about..?!
PS- Love the Craft Blend, especially. Thanks Jeremy!

I remember my step father having bags of Azomite in the eighties. He (we) spread like 30 bags of it on our gardens. He went to college for plant science at Penn State and we owned 3 acres that he planted 90% full of food. I spent many hours pulling weeds, shucking peas, picking beans....money was tight then.

I didn’t even know about silica in soil till about 18 years ago when I was looking for a natural way to keep bad bugs off my plants. I read about Diatomaceous earth and decided to try it out, so I got a good size container of food grade (which I thought meant it had been tested for things like heavy metals to be used that way, not necessarily true) and dusted my plants pretty heavy because it was Florida and pests are bad. Well it rained of course and washed it right into the soil pretty fast, so I reapplied. Long story short that year was phenomenal compared to others and eventually heard about silica in it helping but it was like a wives tale back then and hard to find good info on it. Thank you guys as always for looking out for us and the soil. I look forward to using this product!!

These more advanced topics are exactly what we need these days, most growers are blazing away by now so….. note,I use a liquid watering additive bought at my local hydroponic grow store. Hydroponic watering programs recommend it be added first before a list of five or six prior to final ppm and phmesure and adjust. Yep ya spoke of cation exchange. It’s correct.

    • @TheRealHonestInquiry
      @TheRealHonestInquiry หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's because of Silica's ability to bind. If added in concentrated form it can cause fallout. You will see a cloud in your reservoir as it binds to everything else which then falls out of solution and sinks to the bottom. So the mix order is the order of most reactive: First Silica, then Calcium or Cal-Mag, then Micro because that often has Calcium in it. If I'm doing a biological such as liquid bacteria / mycos product I'll pH first then add them so they have the best chance of living.

Hey Jeremy, how are you man? I’ve literally watched all your videos and I’ve learned so much and I seriously am on the edge of my seat every time I see you posted a new one. Thanks for what you do! They should honestly offer gardening as an elective in school, and you should be there syllabus behind it. Anyway I have a question and I’m hoping you can help. What are your thoughts on a 6/2 light schedule? Do you have any experience with this? Or maybe your personal thoughts? I’m running photos. And I only ask because I’m having serious temperature issues in my 5 x 5. I have a 6 inch AC infinity exhaust, with a 4 inch AC infinity pumping air in, one small fan on my light, and one circle circulation fan Midway hanging. And it’s still hitting 86 to 90° in my tent. I’m running a California Lightworks solarextreme 500. And it just puts off a lot of heat. And unfortunately due to funds I cannot afford a portable AC unit or lowering my temp in my house. My electric bill is already $200 a month and I can barely make that. Thanks Jeremy any input would help… oh yeah, and i live in Az and its supposed to be 103 all this week… :( so yeah

Powersi is monosilicic acid therefore immediately available. Montana grow si is si. Si is not plant available. When the rhizosphere breaks down Montana grow si it transforms into monosilicic acid and is then plant available. Depending on the natural si source it will take weeks or months to become available. Power si has no time lag and can be foliar fed but montana grow is much more affordable. There's no real testing but probably best practice is use a monosilcic acid for first few weeks or month and amend montana grow every transplant. After the first month montana grow should be giving all the si needed. If you have low ph you can use a product like pro-tekt to raise ph and supply si simultaneously. It will still take weeks or months to convert so probably still use monosilicic acid to start with. Imho🍻

I ordered a 100 lb bag immediately direct. it is HANDS DOWN the most useful, highly valued additive I have ever purchased and owned aside from Calcium Hydroxide for SPS coral prop. This is arguably the BEST mushroom TEK developer in the world speaking, and arguably one of the best cultivators in flora as well. Thanks Sirs. you CRUSHED it hard w this one and major Props to OG: you didnt have to keep that company going I know you passed on far more lucrative opportunities but you did a major service to humanity and have exposed the secret to food security for the masses: tapping into silica reserves as 80% of the earth's crust. people: even sand can be a source. this is the BEST source I have seen for soil, of course monosilic acids hydro are GREAT too but this is better. more even, sustained release controlled by fungi at mathematical perfection. Question is there anyway you would be able to do a grow that shows the effects of deficiencies/toxicity..what too much/little N.P.K looks like and too much/little micronutrients look like and how to fix the issues using BUILDASOIL products. I doubt you will see this yet alone read this but in the slight chance you do..I feel this would be very beneficial for the newbies like myself and a good refresher for everyone.

Was sold the b.a.s. Agsil 16H by my local grow shop for a silica supplement. Didn't quite understand how to use it. Nothing on the website mentions the fact that it spikes pH to over 9 at half the recommended dose. Did 2 watering's and a compost tea like that and the plants are now quite unhappy, losing the largest/lowest fan leaves to necrosis spots, and all leaf tips sharply pointing down. Hoping I can recover.

For My first grow I foliage sprayed in on. That was big mistake almost threw the “grrit” weed result away. It washed off With water. The buds were gravel hard. It Taste like nasty grit! Next I learned to add minute quantities to water and nutrient mixes to solidify the cell walls for a solid dense bud at cure time. I expect flushing was imperative to do well. It will make yer plant stress resistant I think. This is silica we speak of.

i am wondering if this would make a good amendment to a 100% perlite media passive hydroponic bucket system, like maybe a small handful of it in the bottom of the bucket under the perlite where there is a small reservoir of water and nutrient. The roots would have direct contact with the silica amendment.
