Okay, y'all remember that live show where Travis sounded terrible, and could barely hit his lows, and everyone was saying he was getting old. Well I guess this pretty much blows all that shit under the rug! HE SOUNDS PERFECT!
His live lows still tend to sound a bit too "shouty" for my taste, but it's not nearly as bad here as some other shows. I think the lows are the hardest on his voice though, so he probably performs them a bit different on purpose when they play live. Especially if they're doing a longer tour.
I'm totally certain that if one day I have the chance to see them live and they play this song, I'll be crying with this incredibly sad and deep ending while singing.

I think he's actually pretty good live, it just sounds bad in a recording because he's using a bass drum trigger that makes it sounds really clacky, if you were actually there I think it would sound pretty great
Tyler Chaffee totally agree w Zack. I’ve seen them live 5 times and the bass drum doesn’t sound like that live. Not sure why this came thru like it did though. Notice all the hand work is spot on too.
Sounds like his triggers are skipping. He has a suuuper short kick pedal stroke. So, low power bass head strike. The bass amp could be interfering. Even the ddrum triggers mess up. I’ve had them. Some guys use two sets of triggers on each kick to reduce the interference.
@@bigsnacks2350 I definitely agree that you shouldn't judge a performance based on a TH-cam clip but every live recording I've seen of theirs sounds similar. And honestly, my biggest problem is that they don't play to a click and things get messy and rushed a majority of the time. They're still a great band, one of my favorites actually. I just think they're a better studio band than a live one. Though, I'll be damned if I don't see Travis Ryan snort his own mucus on stage someday :P
