Bought two awnings and spent over seven hours assembling. The holes were not all drilled so I used a Cobalt drill bit and the supplied screws. The pins that hold the blades in place kept popping out, so I used duct-tape to secure each one. Also used a black marker on the connector bar otherwise the aluminum would show. Manufacturer has been unresponsive to questions.
I feel your pain man. These were a real challenge to put together. I finally got it all together after about a whole day's worth of work using my own self-tapping screws. After assembly the thing looks beautiful but overall the installation directions and the screws provided were inadequate.
@@mjhirish84 I was in the same boat. Drilling the screws into the aluminum connector bar was next to impossible. Screws were of cheap quality and I went through dozens of them as they were snapping in half.
I just started assembling my 7' Bahama and the louver part is so difficult to insert....the mallot does not even help. I have three of these frames to build and already dreading it. The Company should have these preassembled since they are small enough to ship. Because of this, I may not order the other two that I was thinking of buying. If the manufacturer made it more straight forward to assemble, I think it would encourage more repeat purchases.
