Thanks for the recon! It looked wetter than I expected, but as you said, hopefully conditions will be better on race day!

The elevation of Lubbock is 3209ft If you go to Amarillo ride down into Paloduro south of Claude Texas about 8 hours north you can get nealry 1000 ft of climbing. Do some repeats.

@@leeoles5692 Learn something new all the time. I went to TX Tech for almost 6 yrs, raced many a MTB race in Palo Duro and never realized it was at that elevation. Didn’t know the Caprock shelf raised up that high!

Jase what a great preview video. I'm glad it was so long, I'd have welcomed even more! I appreciate all the feedbaack you gave and once again, I think we have similar strategies of taking it slow in the begiinning. Your 2h 45m time to Powerline Aid station, on a scale of 1 to 10 what pace were you riding?

Thanks @Codybaron3721 I would say 6/10, I had to stop a couple of times due to snow and the snow melt slowed us down some. I would say with better conditions, more acclimatized and tapered it would be 2:20-2:30 for the same effort. I was basically riding at what I thought was 1030 effort. I did have more video but didn’t want to bore the internet too much with it.

Now that you have seen the course, although conditions hopefully will be drier on race day, and talked to other competitors, how do you feel about the way your bike is set up? Are there any changes you intend making based on the camp?

Hi Ross. I was very happy with the bike and gear set up. I am getting fresh Race Kings to put on 2 weeks before I fly out along with a waxed chain. I did put on an out front mount instead of the k edge one for the camp and it worked well. I might wear a USWE to Twin Lakes as it was harder to drink, just becuase I kept forgetting etc. and then i will just have to eat a chew and gel.
