    Great video, all the help you can provide is appreciated. Especially more advanced settings to help with latency.

      Myke Mitchell you’re having Latency issues as well? According to this video and how this platform works, we should be having almost no latency.

      @@paulauksztulewicz4803 I've been in sessions with minimal latency and others with massive latency. It's a combination of how good your local setup is, as well as distance between session participants.

    Speaker is easy to listen to and also understand......my very first introduction to JamKazam and what is its purpose ...I will test it out with my Scared Wolf Drum possibly in the future...Thank you....You have presented a non intimidating tutorial...I would need to start with cables and Headphones...but it is all possible to be able to explore....the speaker may wish to explore putting out more tutorials right from the beginning student...if he is interested....respectively speaking ...I appreciate your tutorialand am grateful that I have found you.....

    "Suppose I can't hear Peter's accordion very well."?!? Unless he is in a different state, there's a good chance you can hear his accordion without the software.

      At least you can hear the accordion well enough, regardless.

    • @wheatonna
      @wheatonna 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd be surprised though. With a drummer and an electric guitar, sometimes I have to put my ear on the accordion just to hear what I'm playing.

    Thanks David. Can you perhaps do a video that explains grayed out participants and the error message we see?

    • @Corbrwl
      @Corbrwl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I've found is that people that are grayed out in a session don't have their audio settings set up properly. I have a band member that this happened to, and he had to run through the setup fully to get it to work.

    Most of the comments and complaints I see about JK are latency oriented. The people I've tried to play music with have a good handle on the latency issue, equipment-wise, but we are constantly being interrupted by system crashes that require regular "resync'ing" and, occasionally, a program or even computer reboot. That's the definition of a "show stopper." A video with suggestions on tightening up system stability would be really useful.

    • @wheatonna
      @wheatonna 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't understand why bitrate is locked on 24, with so many other settings being configurable. That's overkill. Yeah, we do lots of reboots too.

    I can possibly figure out how to use this program given enough playing with it--but I can't read what's on the screen. The combination of type color and background color is lethal. Why not just black and white?

    Hi - why are my live tracks also showing on the left in the other live tracks section - they seem doubled - and when jaming the incoming signals are sent back with my guitar signal - disturbing for the people i play with - BR Gustav

    This video should be titled "Getting set up to play in a session, but not really playing in a session yet". There is a ton of video out there on how to set up thiis software, and then what a jam sesion looks like eonce it's running but nothing in between. I just spent an hour online with a student IN A SESSION and not once did we see a screen that says "my live tracks." also, at the end of this video you are left with the question "what happens next"? Related: a "wizard" actually steps you through a process and sets you up as you go. It is not an article with screen shots.

    Can this be utilized with musicians around the world? The latency between my band members is going to vary wildly. The Rhythm and singer is in London. The Lead guitarist in Brazil. I am in the Eastern USA. Most other members who contribute are in varying states in the US which probably works given good routing with their internet connections. Though I can't imagine what I hoped this would resolve happens. Somehow allowing clever hardware and software based solutions to overcome latency. If my guy in London is running 100ms to the US for instance (1/10th a second) .. this sounds like it's going to out of the realm of this company/product.
    If I am right.... Do you expect to rapidly continue to improve the technology to in several years time overcome higher and higher latencies to allow people in London, Australia, and America for example to "Jam" together without the delay that makes it impossible?

    Hi. I have just discovered Jamkazam today 13th May 2020. I am a drummer using Roland TDK25. I have not been able to use Hangouts or Zoom (Both with poor latency) to connect the kit to my band members. Can I do so with Jamkazam? I would also like to jam with new musicians.

      The baker, I have the same Roland TDK25 set, and I've been using Jamkazam for over a year. Highly recommend it! My band uses it for rehearsal twice a week. We occasionally have latency problems (seems to happen at peak internet usage time), but upgrading internet speed seems to have helped a lot. (I was the weak link) The last few sessions since the upgrade have been great. I use a Behringer UMC404HD audio interface.

      @radrums7362 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimlewis4765 Hey Jim. With my TD-25 I've been getting around 18ms of latency. I connect the drums directly to the computer via USB.
      Have you tried connecting your edrums to the computer without an audio interface? Does the audio interface reduce latency?

      If you are using a built-in microphone, it is working for both. Go to session audio input, update, and view choices.

    • @lindamagee3307

      Was reading on the first promo vid of this testimonials, that it only works with maybe 4-5 at a time. If you could limit the video of watching others I think it would be more stable and I mean everyone must have hard-wired Ethernet cable with good internet and everything else disconnected to not drain bandwidth....

      And connection a mobile phone to ethernet is out of the question.
      If that's what you want to do I suggest an Amazon echo but the same issues will exists although I have had jams but it's very hit and miss
