Smart using a compression ignition engine burning Jet A fuel. Avoids the whole current avgas drama and I imagine is cheaper, too.

So, it's now $2million, eh? US, I presume. Until about a year ago it was $2million *Australian* and around $1.2million US. So it's now a AU$3million aeroplane. No wonder most of them either go to the military for training or rich sheikhs in the Middle-East (going by Diamond ferry pilot Micke Lang's videos).

I think it is Austrian not Australian. The company is Chinese owned. Did you vote for tRump? He confused the two countries as well.

@@jandllc Please read closely what I wrote. I spoke about what this *Austrian* aircraft costs new in *Australian* currency. Which is what I happen to use. I didn't even touch upon what country makes the aircraft, nor who owns DAC. As an Australian I cannot vote in the US, so please look in a mirror first, then improve your reading and comprehension skills before throwing bizarre comments around.

Neat plane, too bad the engines are garbage.

      What engine would you prefer?

Indeed, any Lycoming, Rotaxx or anyother are garbage, but Austro aren't.

@@PendeltonWhiskey, I DO prefer the Austro Engines.

@@Ghenov I guess I should be used to people making negative comments about just about every possible thing for no reason. Those Austro engines look great to me. I think of them as nearly bullet proof

I read there hasn’t been a single fatality accident since their 2006 release. Can’t be that bad?

It's owned by a Chinese company, but have always been built in Austria and Canada. Try harder, troll!
PS: Cirrus is now Chinese owned and Piper is owned by an Islamist kingdom in South-East Asia (Brunei).

Is Diamond really a Chinese company?😔

@@bigmagedom6096 No, it isn't as I explained above. It's just thrown out by those who haven't stopped thinking in 60 year old aircraft designs, just as long as it's "USA, USA, USA". Which, as I also explained, ain't a lot anymore (Cessna and Beech, owned by Textron, the rest are all foreign owned in some way)

Meh. The aesthetics don't really appeal to me. YMMV.
