Really enjoyed this video mate, I like the mix between showing what you're talking about and you actually talking while moving the camera. You have a lot more emotion than most TH-camrs these days lol. I've been thinking about returning to Minecraft content myself and telling the story of my 5 year long Minecraft Server with wars, crime, empires, and stuff along that line. Earned a sub from me - I wish you luck with your own channel because you're going in the right direction - Never ! Settle (and make a video about me if that Minecraft series does good lol)

I personally don't think that Pewdiepie's new Minecraft series is gonna go viral again (or at least not like the last one did) because he has completely retired from TH-cam and although seeing him play a video game at all is legendary in itself, a lot of people stopped caring about his content because he simply doesn't make what most of his subscribers were there for in the first place. I think that the people that watch it will enjoy it but it will definitely not have the same level of influence over minecraft that his previous one had.
I think this is a very fair and the most realistic take, but idk, I just have a feeling that this minecraft series will pop off again, not to 2019 levels, but maybe to like 6-10m per video or something like that
@@NopleYT I think that’s very possible honestly. I also still think that this will have some level of influence because at the end of the day it’s still PewDiePie. I’m sure we’ll start seeing a bit less of this hyper edited content soon. Btw, if you like Pewds’ more laid back personality and style of content, I think you’d like this a channel called “SoupSoup” There isn’t anything particularly special about his let’s play, but he prioritizes actually enjoying Minecraft and the videos he makes over making content every day.
TL;DR: I think his Minecraft series will still spark some new TH-cam channels and I think you would enjoy another laid back channel called SoupSoup .

I've been doing my own series, and my goal hasn't been to be hyper-edited, just showcasing my journey through the world with a cinamatic touch. ANd I'm pretty glad honestly that simpler videos are become the norm again.
I love to here it, hopefully the simple video trend keeps growing. Im super happy to hear that your doing your series, keep grinding and improving its awesome what your doing!
I don't know if anyone has noticed btu many small creators are following what I call a cinematic/simple Minecraft trend similar to a builder named bdouble0. It's just calm building and cinematic shots with classical music in the background. Something else is that in each one of these videos, the creator will often say that they want a simpler Minecraft and to focus on the simpler stuff.
I agree, flow state is another creator like that and his videos are very calming

I think you may be putting some high expectations where they don't really belong.
Im glad pewds is playing MC again, I'm excited to see where it goes, but I don't think it'll bring a new Minecraft peak in popularity for a few reasons
A: pewds isn't as popular as he was. He's been retired for a while now, so he's not grinding the algorithm. He's just gonna have fun with it.
B: the previous peak WASN'T because of pewds. Yeah, he helped, but Minecraft was revived because of the pandemic, and the feature-heavy updates like 1.14 and 1.16. the latest updates haven't been very game-changing.
C: it hasn't been long enough. In 2019, Minecraft had been considered dead/dying for well over 5 years. Minecraft content/trends have been popping off as recently as last year. This hasn't given people enough time to be majorly nostalgic about the previous peak or given them time enough to approach the game in a new light.
Hope Im wrong tho.

There's been plenty of popular and innovating MC stuff in the last few years. Lifesteal, Grian's Life Series, Hermitcraft, etc.
I love Pewds, but this video was very exaggerated.
Also, Pewds isn't the sole reason for MC's revival in 2019, it was a multitude of reasons (including stuff like the rise of 100 days) colliding together in that one year in the MC community. Pewds was a part of it, but I'd only say like 25% of it at most.

It may be possible that I exaggerated the video a little bit for more views... Guess well never know 🕵️. But I would argue that yes there has been some great minecraft series following the dream smp, but they are becoming less and less popular with every new installment, for example, lifesteal was less popular then dream smp and qsmp was less popular then lifesteal. There has been innovation but unfortunately its not always translating into popularity. Although I do agree I probably put too much emphasis on PewDiePie for reviving the game.

@NopleYT honestly, I think that's just cuz people aren't stuck at home anymore. Lockdown had a massive impact on views and caused a huge spike that went back down to how it was before when everyone went back to work
I half agree, yes there is no way Dream would have 30 mil subs without the pandemic. But also Tommy Init, JSchlatt, Dream, Techno, and more minecraft youtubers were already on the come up by late 2019

People say they want lax gameplay on minecraft, but every mf has an attention span of 2.5 seconds so it's impossible to produce a laid back video. You constantly have to have something going or people get bored and click off within 5 seconds. Wish I could do a laid back session but my audience just likes me pooping myself 24/7. Is what it is.
I think you can do lax gameplay, but not in the traditional sense, I think in the sense of story telling and building up plots and what not

The problem is that in 2019 before playing minecraft PewDiePie has drama with T-Series due to which he was quite popular at that time but now for more than 2-3 year his popularity isnt much because from past few years he is posting whatever he likes not what majority of audience want leading to less viewership as a result now even he is playing minecraft again it will be hard get as much view as he received in first play through
That is correct, he has like no momentum, and he is not uploading everyday so it will be hard for him to stimulate the algorithm, but idk, I just feel like somehow his series will go viral again, not as viral but I think it will get to the point where every episode gets like 5 million views
