Mit serienmäßig eingebautem Poltergeist, Lust am Radau, traditionell großem Bierdurst, ruppigen Riffs und knarzendem Bass: Red Fang aus Portland, Oregon, bleiben auf ihrem Album „Arrows“ nicht nur dem Stoner Rock treu - sondern vor allem auch sich selbst.
Manchmal muss man Dinge einfach hinter sich lassen. Sie auseinandernehmen, sich rütteln und schütteln und die Dinge dann neu zusammensetzen. Genauso haben es die Musiker gemacht, die zusammen seit 2005 Red Fang sind. Bevor sie nämlich diese Band gründeten, hatten sie in vielen anderen Bands gespielt. Keiner der Musiker war dabei aber richtig zufrieden - und mit Red Fang ging es dann darum, sich ein perfektes musikalisches Zuhause zu basteln. Oder wie es Sänger und Gitarrist Aaron Beam mal zusammengefasst hat: „Wir haben all die Bausteine unserer vorherigen Bands auf einen Haufen geworfen und daraus unser ultimatives eigenes Häuschen gebaut“.
Seit anderthalb Jahrzehnten steht dieses Häuschen nun wacker und aufrecht, ist stabil, unverrückbar und mit diversen Konstanten ausgestattet. Eine davon: Red Fang spielen Stoner Rock. Mit Slow-Mo-Momenten, serienmäßig eingebautem Poltergeist, ruppigen Riffs und knarzendem Bass. Ein weitere Konstante: Videos der Band sind nur gültig, wenn ins Storytelling mindestens eine Palette Dosenbier eingebaut ist. Man schaue die Clips zu „Arrows“, „Wires“ und „Shadows“. Wenn man die gesehen hat, weiß man: Red Fang sind nicht nur professionell in Sachen Stoner Rock. Sondern auch professionelle Biertrinker.

The heavy tone of that last riff on Throw Up is just insane.
Throw Up has been their closing song forever and I never get sick of hearing it. It might be their best song that they never made a video for.

I saw Red Fang on the last show of their European 2022 Tour, and they were absolutely awesome.
Saw them open for COC and Black Label society back in 2018. Great live band. Hilarious music videos too. Awesome band

Caught them in SF a couple times and Bryan said Dirt Wizard was about him wearing his jeans for weeks on tour without washing em. Dirt Wizards for real, these guys are the real deal

Dudes are running guitars into Sunn Beta Leads through Orange cabs and that's it. Zero pedals other than a tuner. Excellent tone outta those Beta Leads.
That's not exactly the case. The guitarist on the left side uses quilter tone block 200 and an od to tighten up the massive low ends of this model
