Step 1: Your phone needs to be plugged into a computer or gaming console, such as PlayStation, Xbox, or any other gaming console. It won't work otherwise.
Step 2: Hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time until the screen turns black.
Step 3: When the screen turns black, quickly move your finger from the volume down button to the volume up button while still keeping the other finger on the power button. Continue to hold until you see the Samsung and Android logos.
Step 4: As soon as you see the logos, immediately remove your fingers from both buttons. This will lead you to the reset screen.
Step 5: Navigate the reset screen using the volume buttons. Use the down button to go down and the up button to go up. To enter a selection, press the power button.
Step 6: The factory reset setting is located near the bottom of the screen. When you see it, select it and initiate the factory reset.
Step 7: Reboot the phone. The reboot setting is near the top of the screen, and you'll see it there. Once selected, your phone will reboot.
Congratulations! You have successfully factory reset your phone.
Disclaimer: Even if you successfully factory reset your device, you will need the email and password associated with the phone, similar to iCloud for iPhone users. If the phone is stolen, I'm happy to inform you that your hard work was useless. At this point, the phone is pretty much just a toy. All the latest Samsung devices have this system to protect our devices from thieves like you. Lol. This part is only relevant for stolen phones.
