When you look back on 'Meg' she was defenestrated and had several broken bones, plus she was shot, but the demon was walking around in that broken body without problems. So there is no way of knowing what condition the body is in until the demon is gone, snd the person either lives or dies.

Dean being completely reckless, not giving a shit about what happens to him at all is a side of Dean I never thought I'd like. Poor Sam. First, it's about Dean trying to save Sam from this whole Yellow Eyes nonsense, then it's about Sam trying to save Dean from Hell. Can these boys ever catch a break? You have to remember sometimes the demons hold the human within an inch of it's life, keeping it together and moving as long as it possesses the human. Once it's exercised the human expires. Remember Ruby, went out a window but seemed fine until they exercised the demon, then she died.

When she said that he didn't make it , she meant that the human who was possessed didn't get through the exorcism. It happens a lot of times .
and it was probably cause she wasnt even caring if the person survived. that exorcism didnt even take her 5 minutes.
