When you look back on 'Meg' she was defenestrated and had several broken bones, plus she was shot, but the demon was walking around in that broken body without problems. So there is no way of knowing what condition the body is in until the demon is gone, snd the person either lives or dies.

When she said that he didn't make it , she meant that the human who was possessed didn't get through the exorcism. It happens a lot of times .
and it was probably cause she wasnt even caring if the person survived. that exorcism didnt even take her 5 minutes.
