What I can say is after using the DK7 mics on video review of the kit, I can truly understand why I've seen these mics on so many of my fave online drummers kits, on so many product videos from companies like Zildjian, Vic Firth, and Pearl, as well as almost every video on Drumeo. Getting the bass drum mic to rock is a matter of placement.
If I was doing over head mics I would be using a rhodes mic myself. Either these over head mics could have been placed better or mixed better... they sound pretty flat to me.
Several years ago I purchased the Earthworks 3 mic system for drums. 2 overhead, kick and haven’t looked back. I still have my 421s and my SM98s but my goto is Earthworks!! (Thanks Jeffrey Green on your advice to try them) btw: The QTC40 is stunning on acoustic guitar
MY Earthworks SV33 went dead and I wanted to repair it. IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN! Support wrote to me that I should toss it(!) and get a new one, with full warranty. 😂 NIGHTMARE - those are expensive mics that YOU JUST CAN'T REPAIR. I would never believe it, if it didn't happen.
Using that front bass drum head with al those holes was not the best for a test video. That's like using no front head at all. Maybe the bass mic would sound better if there was no hole or a smaller hole off set for inside mic.
Thank you SO much for showcasing our mics Nick! Your kit sounded great with them 🔥

Misread this as "Drum Milking" and thought, "There's nothing easy about milking a drum!"
I disagree.
@@7AgesMusicProduction I will say that nothing tastes quite good as that sweet, sweet drum milk!
Saw the same thing 😂
Snare and tom mics sound great, not too keen on the kick and the overheads just sound like overheads. As a set, sounds like a winner.

Those Wuhan Koi cymbals are AMAZING. The set may be 3k but honestly thats the best 3K there.
I have a match pair of TC20 Mics and I love them
Those cymbals sounded great.
All Cymbals sound great thru a phone speaker.
They make an sq1 sound like an sq2. So good
WOW ! Now that man is an extremely tasteful Drummer !
Yea I couldnt shell out the money for the earthworks. I love the sleek design but had to go Audix 😂
Man, Jon Lovits can really play.
I was waiting for him to say “that’s the ticket” lol
I think I enjoy the Sweetwater video’s for the unnecessary face’s Nick always makes. 😂 he really enjoys his job.
Someday I may hit the Lotto. Till then I'll be using AKG or Sure.
Those Wuhans sound lit 🔥. Very impressed 😯🤘🏼
Earthworks Mics are nice, but they are expensive.
Yea I hunted down a full Audix set with overheads, almost nearly the same sound for 1/3 the price tag. Just not as sleek and slim.
Would a pair of Behringer ECM8000 get a bit close to these OH, or only the Audix.

I know those SQ1 kits sound great with their stock Remo heads, I don't think those Attack heads are doing it any favors.
Ok, Jon Lovitz.
Can't help but think that everytime I see one of his videos lol. Great drummer none the less.
sounds good but i rather buy the shure beta 98 amp, mostly the same quality and sound at way lower the price.
Show
Phase....

It's easy to spend 10 grand on drum mics?
