    Unless you’re going to inherit a home/s then come to Australia I just brought a 4 bed 2 bath on my single income, pay way less in interest and I get paid literally 40% more (though I’ve been paid double in a remote city) 40% more $$ in Brisbane as I do in NZ for the same job for less hours. I saved near nothing in NZ. Unless you’re already born rich then economic mobility and your standard of living is absolute rubbish (minus maybe the odd cheap country town though my home town is now a rip off). It is sad to watch this happen to my country
    YOUNG PEOPLE NOT BORN RICH, LEAVE NZ! You are screwed.

      I honestly don't know how y'all do it. I'm from Canada and lived in Christchurch for a year in 2015-2016. Was blown away by how expensive everything was. I had a pretty good hourly wage while working there and my money definitely didn't go very far. Love New Zealand it's truly a magical place but there's a massive difference between living there full time and traveling for fun.
