    Did you just used a silhouette of a guy holding a giant sword as a brush to paint clouds..?

    I never would have thought to use a rough brush and then stretch it, alpha lock it, and use it for the highlights of a distant background. It's so simple and clear but so effective.

    Hey Jordan! As always, great work. Could you or do you have a video on how you structure your work when working for a company. For example, organisation of layers, etc so that you may go back and make changes rather than having to redo large parts of the artwork.

    Really great stuff as usual sir Jordan. I just want to ask some questions if it's not much trouble, so uhm, how do you find the right blend of colors for a specific piece? Do you like have a palette ready already, are you using a reference or is it all like hit or miss kind of thing?
    Really love these videos of yours. Thanks a lot! :)

    • @JordanGrimmer
      @JordanGrimmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hey! I always use reference for something like this, there's no other way I'd know how to paint it if not! It's always wise to use reference if you want something to look "right".

    Hi Jordan. I’ve watched a few of your videos now and I’m well impressed. Don’t know much about digital painting. Just curious as to why you regularly flip the canvas horizontally?

    • @JordanGrimmer
      @JordanGrimmer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I flip the canvas to help me see whether there are problems with the composition, when you flip it you're essentially looking at it with fresh eyes and you tend to then find parts of it that don't look right! I do a bit too often so it's more of a habit than anything :)

    All of the digital artists use more photo-shop than real painting, at least from what I can see from all of these videos. If you are interested in seeing digital art created on the computer with artist tools solely from the program 'PAINT'. Please send your email information. sv.stefanmeyer@gmail.com. I have been doing this now for about 15-20 years, since I purchased my first PC with office 2000 professional. The paintings (in the beginning) were crude, but I have managed to upgrade my online skills to almost match the skills level of excellent acrylic artists.

  • @RubbinRobbin

    Digital painting tools are so cumbersome and fake. It’s high time the technologies gotten better for digital painters. Most programming efforts have instead gone into 3D. The fact that you have to use the lasso tool is the least enjoyable part of digital painting to achieve hard to soft edge transitions. To rely on dotted line as a mask feels like your doing graffiti on a wall instead of using an actual brush and yet we’re forced to do this technique to achieve desired results.
