His prices may be out of budget for some people, but they're very reasonable for the amount of work involved for each piece. Remember that fast fashion brands are able to keep prices low bc they exploit their workers and sell in high volumes. If every piece is unique, the design process starts over with every single piece. I really respect and appreciate the time and patience this must take in order to keep the business running. The amount of waste in the industry is extreme. I couldn't even guess how much waste there is at the company I work for, but we throw out bags and bags of scrap :(
The problem is his stuff is labour intensive. So the price is going to be a bit high even considering the material is free. The great thing is that you will probably never show up somewhere a see someone else wearing the exact same thing.
I love me a good thrift store! Yeah its expensive but that also means that his employees get paid more of a living wage. It's the cost of not contributing to sweat shops. But same. I'm sad that I cant afford to support him. Off to the thrift store I go
Yes the prices are higher than thrift store clothes, but they are one of a kind. So many things are factored into the cost. It's much understandable than paying for expensive branded clothing. Gucci who?
A significant factor with clothes like this is a change is attitude. You buy less of garments, at higher prices but better quality. You care for them and keep them longer than you would with fast fashion or thrifted garments. You might buy one of these instead of 10 lessor garments. In the long run it works out as less expensive or about the same.
I agree. Trying to be sustainable yet affordable is extremely challenging. This problem has effected our world permanently. We need to possibly buy waaaaay less and so we can have more money for a few key pieces in our wardrobe
@@gigi5711 link to his website is in the description. most items looked like they were in the 80-150 usd range. i didn't scroll very far tho. maybe there are cheaper things

Each design takes a lot of work, and you are not only paying the fabric he uses, but also his time, dedication and ability
His clothes are cool. He's cute. He's doing an amazing job. He cares about the envioroment and actively tries to have a positive impact on it... Is it just me or is he perfect?
At first I said no way is 60 percent thrown away, i don’t know anyone who straight up throws away clothes that quick. But when he talked about the “cookie cutter” problem, that was really eye opening! I never realized that!
Seems like a great idea if they can provide affordable, comfortable clothing. But I imagine that there is a more practical use for all that material that doesn't involve anyone wearing it. Making insulation from it, for instance. Or turning it into stuffing for blankets or dog beds, or making it into patches for pants, or using it as packing materials to protect glass cups and such during transportation, or turned into low-cost emergency blankets for people overseas (sewn together by robots).
AMAZING clothes, AMAZING idea, AMAZING meanin. but the price is so high I (personally) can not afford that. Maybe try to make that a big company so more people would be able to afford themselves to buy these AWESOME clothes.
This is awesome! The only issue is that some people can’t afford the prices. I wonder if there’s a way to make sustainment clothing affordable. I’ve seen many other sustainable shops that also are pricey. But love what’s being done here:)
I agree. Trying to be sustainable yet affordable is extremely challenging. This problem has effected our world permanently. We need to possibly buy waaaaay less and so we can have more money for a few key pieces in our wardrobe
The really annoying thing is that the economy (basically disposable) section of clothing sales use a lot of synthetics. Some of the most durable fabrics ever made get sent to the landfill as scrap right after the pattern cutter gets done or after a year of use by the buyer.
This man is so smart, the world needs more people like him who see that the Earth needs us to help it, not hurt it Edit: wow he needs to lower his prices, I'm all for save the Earth but who can pay/would pay $30 for just a patch or better yet $90 for a plain shirt?!
If anybody lives zero waste at home, PLEASE make sure to wipe out the carts fully before putting your produce and such in them. I work as a “courtesy clerk” at a grocery store and I’ve seen so many things go into the carts that would disgust you. Trash bags, floor mats, meat without the baggies offered that has leaked... it’s disgusting, and I don’t want anybody getting sick from that

No the prices are not affordable or reasonable. They are really high, I don't know where you live but no one I know has the money to spend £100 on one pair of joggers. Doesn't matter how nice they are, they're very expensive.
@@gaduie Reasonable meaning what? Where I live reasonable means that you can afford it. The vast majority can't. Unless sustainable clothing can start being priced at a point where most people can afford it, it won't take off.

@@gaduie I don't do the job I do to make a fortune. I work in children's social care, obviously I'm not going to get rich from that. Sustainable fashion posits itself as something everyone should participate in, but it's far too expensive for most people.
I love this! But it's kinda funny to see this on a youtube like As/Is, considering how many "try on" videos they have and just how much their channel is focused on fashion. There's no way that everything they buy for a video stays in the owner's closet.
I watched this about 10 minutes after hearing Australian senator and party leader Pauline Hanson very publically deny the presence of climate change and blame it on a conspiracy. Thank you, I am feeling a little less frustrated after seeing this video. 😊

@@kirstenocana2072 I've got a career thanks. However I have made clothes for myself, and I'm a very short curvy woman. Apparently it's really hard to design for women like me. It isn't.
@@okayneptune Wow so much attitude. I agreed with them, they started what it is and that is honest and I respect that. Then you come with that attitude? Is that why people see you and leave?
This is a lovely and wholesome idea but it means nothing because normal people can not afford this clothing. It’s sad environmentally friendly things like this are only available to the upper class
Yeah I had a look. Not inclusive size wise either. No hip measurements for trousers, so I've no idea if they'd fit and no differentiated lengths, so designed for people much taller than the average woman. No measurements around the bust for T shirts, so no idea if it'd fit. Definitely not designed with curvy women in mind. To be able to buy most ethical, eco friendly clothing you need to be tall, slim and rich. It's not affordable or reasonable for most people.
