      It's very hard to show what the lenses look like on camera. If you can find a Bliz retailer near you I'd recommend trying it on in person. Every lens has different color profiles and filtering that you really have to try out in person.

      No problem. Hadn't heard of them myself in the US either before seeing some of their products at an event. It's great to see cycling sunglasses with affordable replacement lenses.

    Really nice review!!! What kind of lens do you suggest for ski in the cloudy day? Nordic or category 1? And I actually curious about the small size as I never saw any reviews of that. Thanks ☺

      Thanks, glad it could be helpful for you. If the weather conditions are all white / flat, the Nordic lens really helps brighten things up. I'd recommend a Cat 1/2 lens though if you expect sunny weather later in the day, the Nordic doesn't provide much protection from the sun.

      @@kayleighmacgregor5151 thanks for the link. I already looked at that long ago..it helpful but to be honest you have to at least try by your own how you comfortable with the different lens... I own one now and really happy with my choice. About the sizes I found out by just order and try...;))

    Hi. I've been torn on what to get since last Summer. I found out about Bliz after coming across some S Korean cycling vlog last Spring and saw this on a lot of the vloggers and some of their cyclist companions. I have Oakleys Radar EV and want to replace the lens, but I also want to get another clear lens. 2 lenses from Oakley will cost me a new cheaper pair of Melon Optics that already come with a second lens, or buy the Bliz Fusion plus an extra Nordic and clear lens for almost the same price. Of course Oakley will fight for their quality and actually told me something that would be offensive to Zeiss which is what POC, Koo and Melon Optics use. And even said that Bliz is a third party company. So how much knowledge do you think that customer service personnel know? 🤣
    Anyway, I don't know if you have any knowledge on Zeiss lens, but how would you compare Bliz optics with Zeiss and Oakley? Of course I also have to consider that Bliz, or Melon Optics will fit well with Kask Protone, a helmet I'm also having issues deciding on vs POC Ventral Air Spin, MET Trenta, Abus Airbreaker or HJC Ibex 2.0, but that is another story and more complex due to CPSC Certification and some in the list are not allowed to be shipped in the US. Thank you for your time.

      We definitely share your frustration as we also have Oakley Radars but can't justify spending $60 for a set of spare clear lenses. The Bliz sunglasses make much more sense as you can buy multiple lenses without emptying your wallet. To answer your question about lens quality, we've ridden and reviewed POC / Bolle / Smith / etc sunglasses and honestly feel like the optics are really similar across brands. All the sunglasses we've tried have clear distortion free lenses, the main difference is the color and features like photochromic lenses that differentiate them. I'd say the Bliz is one of the better values unless you want a photochromic lens that can adjust to the environment.
      Helmet wise, if you look through our videos you can see we've reviewed the POC Ventral Air Spin NFC / Ventral Spin / Octal and other helmets that are available in US. The POC helmets are all really nice in terms of fit and visual design, but they are expensive. I'd recommend checking out the Smith Trace helmet as they are available in a lot of unique color schemes and have Smith's unique Koroyd liner and even works well with oversized sunglasses.

      @@TheSweetCyclists it makes more sense to buy the Fusion... And torn between the White with Black jawbone option or the Black with White, then the Nordic Purple and the Clear. I get 3 items for a slightly higher amount than the Melon Optics which comes with a second Clear with a slight tint of Yellow, I guess to brighten night time surroundings. I just wanted to clear out the clarity and quality between Bliz lens and Zeiss.
      Going back to the helmet, since you did give an opinion, and thank you for that btw, loved the Protone since Team Sky dominance until I tried it on recently. Though I love the low-pro silhouette and non-mushroom aesthetics, I hate the notch and the eyebrow vents. Don't know why I didn't notice that before. I was almost set to buy the Ventral Air Spin, even though I'm aware of the possibility of a mushroom look, just like my old Giro Synthe. I was mainly relying on how some reviews stated it's much narrower than the Octal. However, the LBS owner I was talking to gave me a little 101 on helmets on how and where it's made, what some manufacturers think of MIPS and Non-MIPS, and why he is so sold on the quality of Kask being made in Italy and not China even without MIPS. Even Abus, a German brand made in Italy, didn't even look good in his books and he sells the brand. He said, you want my opinion, this is it. But if you want the Abus or the POC, then that is your decision. The sad part about this whole thing is that POC is the cheapest with a second form of extra protection, and I know how other reviews had stated it's very airy, and I've seen enough videos on this helmet with different types of eye wear and it looks good all the way. The only negative is the possibility of the same mushroom effect as my Synthe. I know, lame excuse to NOT buy it. I guess I have a very shallow reason because I've been looking like a mushroom head since 2014.
      In regards to the Smith Trace, another friend of mine regrets getting it because he went for extra double protection, but he really hates how hot it really gets during the Summer on climbs. Maybe that's what I should do, just buy 2 helmets, one for climbs and one for flats. Only if the others were CPSC approved, I would buy both the airy MET Trenta with or without MIPS and the HJC Ibex 2.0

    Between Smith Shift MAG vs Bliz Vision,Which one is better? Thank you.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Bliz is significantly cheaper for both the sunglasses and extra lenses so it's the better buy. However, the Smith Shift MAG has a much easier lens swap mechanism and more premium finish and feel. Also I would say optics are similar, they are both clear and have great contrast.

    The Nordic lenses will work well in the low light of the forest? , or only work well in snow?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We found that they worked well in the forest and foggy days as they really brighten things up. The only downside is that after wearing them for awhile it takes your eyes a little bit of time to readjust to normal colors.

    The price depends on the country I guess. Where I live, it costs slightly more than an Oakley Sutro in local shops. And Smith Ruckus can also be bought cheaper. But it seems that the design would generally fit my face shape well, so I'll give it a try.

    • @leakyabstraction
      @leakyabstraction 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay, I got it, and I think the quality is laughable for the price I paid. I can't even clean it with a cloth for crying out loud, because the little sharp pieces that are sticking out of the plastic edges everywhere are grabbing into the cloth (and damaging it). I think it (or at least the one I got) feels very cheap, and on par with the brandless glasses I can get for almost free. In fact the plastic mold issue with the sharp edges is something I never experienced even with cheap glasses... I got the darker Nordic Light version, and I can't see any contrast enhancement either, honestly. Lastly, the top of the frame is too far away from my forehead, seems like there is a 7-8 mm gap, even though glasses usually fit fine and I don't have a big nose. But I guess it might fit other people significantly better. The nose pad feels very uncomfortable too, btw, but there is no point to go on. No idea if I received a fake one (I bought it from a large chain), but obviously I'll send it back, as it wouldn't worth even fifth of the price. The only great aspect I found is the anti-fog coating, because I wasn't able to get it to fog at all (on the inside).

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear you had issues. I'm really surprised the Bliz costs more than Oakleys / Smith sunglasses. At least in the US the Bliz are a 1/3 of the price of other brands which makes the minor molding issues easy to look past.

    • @leakyabstraction
      @leakyabstraction 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheSweetCyclists yes, I find it strange as well. It seems that Oakleys are generally cheaper here than MSRP, e.g. you can buy a Sutro with, for example, Prizm Road for the equivalent of 115 USD, and Bliz Nordic Light costs the equivalent of 122 USD. But Bliz is only sold at a single retailer (a large chain called Alza), so possibly their pricing is out of whack. (Alza prices are odd sometimes; some brands are offered way below what you can find elsewhere, while others are comparatively quite expensive.)

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leakyabstraction That's interesting. I would be careful and make sure you're buying authentic sunglasses then. There are a lot of look-a-like fakes on the market for lower prices.

    Is it possible to adjust the wire core down (not only to the side)?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup. It's fully adjustable up/down/left/right. It's a cool design feature we haven't seen in other cycling glasses. It actually hold its form, unlike other 'adjustable temples' that return to original shape.

    Can you buy those jawbones to put on your matrix?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Matrix and Fusion are the same sunglasses aside from the jawbone portion. However, I don't think Bliz currently sells the jawbones separately. I'd recommend reaching out to them to see if they could send you one. I really wish they offered them separately, it would be a great way to mix up the sunglass style on the fly.

    How did you check the proper size

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sunglasses only come in one size, but have flexible temples and nose pads to accommodate different faces. I'd recommend trying the sunglasses or one similar to see if it fits your face. There are "asian fit" sunglasses which are meant for smaller faces as well but we found the Bliz Fusion to fit very similar to Oakley / Smith and other standard sunglasses.
